First night home (Private, attn Fallon)

The ride home from the House of Pain was short and he had behaved like a gentleman, or as close as he could get to such a title. They exited the car with dignity and waved goodbye to Nicole who stated that she had taken Suki home earlier. Unlocking the front door, Cyrus tossed his coat towards the rack and it hung itself up perfectly. Walking through the house, after locking the front door behind them, he opened the back door.

The construction was progressing nicely, the lower level skeletal structure was impressive, the floor that covered the lower level was completed. Their home would be finished before fall, at the latest. Emotions washed over Cyrus; joy, pleasure, contentment, excitement and what he could only call love. Fallon was the cause of so many good changes in his life. How could he not love her. Looking at her with a smile and fire in his eyes.

"Want to run or play?"

The explanation made sense, and Fallon encompassed the idea to include her. She adored Suki, and was grateful for all the help the woman had been to her, but wondered if the fact that Fallon was now such a large part of Cyrus' life, if some boundaries had become fuzzy. Keeping her gaze on Cyrus, she proceeded to discuss her concerns.

"You know...having me move in with you has got to have been an adjustment for her as well. Up till now she's had you pretty much to herself, at least in the sense that you were the only one around to give her any kind of direction. I...I really didn't think I was overstepping, but without thinking I may have been. I hate to think I can't continue to think of Suki as a friend, and call upon her for advice, but maybe I should put some distance between us? For a while anyway..."

Worrying her bottom lip, Fallon was a little more than concerned to think she may have done something to invade the bond between Cyrus and Suki.

Though she now felt less like going out than she had earlier, because Cyrus seemed to want to, Fallon didn't say otherwise.

"Some place quiet, and cozy please. I'm not in the mood for the pounding atmosphere of the House of Pain tonight."

Having chewed all her lip gloss off, Fallon brushed her lips across Cyrus jaw, and smiled. Watching him put the bottle away, she started walking towards the door...her mind still on thoughts of how she could be less of a problem with Suki.

"Was not you, Kitten, do not think it is your fault. I let her get a bit too controlling. Just needed to remind her who made the decisions around here. Happens all the time with familiars."

Thinking about how to handle this situation in the future made him antsy. Women complicated things so much. Scrubbing his face with his hand once more he hoped his idea would not hurt Fallon's feelings. "Perhaps if you only asked her for assistance or make your requests to me so I can direct her for a little while? I am sure you being her friend is completely fine but orders may need to come from me less she reverts to this once more."

Someplace cozy was easily done, but he wished she did not want to go out. But he would bow to her wishes and needs. She was still a new vampire and needed fresh blood frequently, he did not want her to get ill or weak because he kept her home. The light kiss on his jaw lightened his mood considerably. Staying home with his mate may be what he would prefer, but watching her walk towards the door he could not deny the pride he felt at being seen with her.

He made sure everything was locked up tight and the alarm set before escorting Fallon to the car. Speaking briefly to their driver after climbing in after his kitten.
"Someplace cozy. Suki will be staying here for the week and decided to get some sleep."

Stroking his hand down Fallon's arm he briefly thought of the samples they needed to pick from but brushed it aside as not a pressing need right now. They could talk about it at where ever they ended up.

He was as always, understanding and patient, though she could still see this all was new to him and now without a small bit of anxiety...or bafflement, as the case might have been. She was still learning as well, and never having had or been around familiars herself, was finding out everything about them via Suki and Cyrus.

"I will do that. If I find I need something, or something done, I'll present it to you. I don't like burdening you with things, because I know you already have enough things going on, so I will try first to resolve the matter myself. But if I need help, I'll let you know first."

It would be very easy, she thought, to go through Cyrus...as long as she remembered.

What else occurred to her was that she had been relying on Suki for friendship these days, and though she still wanted Suki for a friend, she missed her others.

Fallon was starting to get a little concerned about Aishe, as she hadn't talked to the girl in weeks now. And Ana...Fallon still had to make arrangements to meet her over at the cottage, and do what she could to help her get settled. Though it really hadn't been that long since they had enjoyed their slumber party, so much had happened in between that it seemed like years. Having friends, and the freedom to enjoy them was new to Fallon. But now that she had them she didn't want to lose them, any more than she wanted to lose Cyrus. They all held special places in her heart, and she was growing to love them more and more every day.

"Besides directing my requests through you, is there anything else I, personally, can do to help Suki?" She hoped she wasn't harping on this more than Cyrus wanted...once she became more accustomed to the ins and outs of living with a familiar, she was sure it would all become second nature.

Climbing into the car, Fallon snuggled close to Cyrus. The evening air wasn't particularly cold, but any chance to snuggle was not to be passed up. Something that occurred to Fallon earlier kept picking at her brain, and try as she might she was having a difficult time letting it go. It might no longer be an issue, with Cyrus reigning Suki in as he was, but rather than let the notion fester, she decided to get it out.

"There is one little, tiny thing that did bother me a bit earlier. Though what you've done now may have resolved that matter too...I...well..." It frustrated her to not be able to just say what was on her mind, but she was getting better. "It bothered me a little that Suki had such ready access to our rooms downstairs. I mean...I didn't expect she would be able to come and go like that...as she pleased."

Resting her head on his shoulder, Fallon refused to look at Cyrus when she spoke. If he showed any signs of displeasure in what she said, she knew she would probably not be able to say another word all evening. It was always a risk for her to come forth with her feelings, and until that risk became less threatening, she would probably continue to suffer some.

A warm smile crept over his face as relief flooded him. Fallon had not gotten offended at his request. That took a weight from his shoulders. "Thank you Kitten. Do not fret about me being too busy either, you are too young yet to have a familiar so I will gladly see to anything you need."

Contemplating just how to have everything come together smoothly with the three of them, he was really unsure exactly how Fallon could help Suki. "I will let you know if something comes up that you can assist her with. But it may need to be after this week is through."

Enjoying the beautiful woman pressed against his side he continued to gently stroke her arm while holding her close to him. The drive to town was short but he was unsure where Ginger would take them as she had not said a word since her nod and smile acknowledging his order. She would tell them all about the location soon enough he was sure. Fallon's question roused him from his thoughts of their destination. His head cocked to one side briefly as he ran through the series of events in his mind.

"My apologies love. I heard the car arrive and her first knock on the front door and upper door. Since I was unoccupied and sitting in the outer room I allowed her entrance to the bottom door. If it concerns you greatly I can ask her to stop at the top unless specifically invited down."

Sometimes he forgot his kitten was not quite as old as he was so she could not hear as well or do things with telekinesis as he did. Knowing he could bar the upper and lower doors with a thought gave him a feeling of security that Fallon did not have. Nor was she comfortable enough in her feline skin to use the senses that came with it all the time. His arrogance was again to blame for her discomfort and his apology felt insufficient for the inconvenience he caused Fallon. Hugging her close and kissing her ear gently he wondered how to fix this.

Amazed that he was thanking her, and for what she wasn't certain, Fallon just smiled. Sometimes the things Cyrus said and did confused her to no end. But the confusion was never anything she couldn't live with, and usually wound up resolving itself in the long run anyway.

"That's okay. I may keep a little distance with Suki this week anyway. I need to catch up with Aishe and Ana, and now would be a good time to do that. It'll give Suki some well deserved rest too."

She waved off his apology, never thinking he would accept responsibility for what Suki had done. Though he was her 'master', she did still have some free will, Fallon was pretty sure of. And maybe Fallon was making a mountain out of a molehill anyway... What had Suki done really? Just entered a room without Fallon's knowledge.

"I think what seems to bother me, though not beyond anything I couldn't learn to live with, is just that until my cottage I'd never had any place I could call mine. And its funny, but in the short time I lived there I found I valued a bit of privacy."

Hugging him close, Fallon didn't want Cyrus to think that statement pertained to him though.

"Not from you love...with you I never feel the need to get away. Sometimes I think you have some incredible instincts that allow you to tune into my mind and emotions in a way...well, it's a bit difficult to explain. You just seem to know when to hold me, and when to let me stand on my own."

She smiled lovingly at him, and hoped she was explaining herself well.

"I have no qualms about Suki living with us, and in fact I really enjoy the thought of having her there. And as such I would expect her to make it her home, and that she have full free run of the house...with the only exception being our rooms downstairs...?"

Posing the need as a request, Fallon was still giving Cyrus the opportunity to make the final decision. Maybe when they had been together longer, Fallon would feel more of a partner in the relationship, but for now she still felt that Cyrus was her master in a sense as well.

"But if you allowed her to enter, then I'm quibbling over nothing really." And maybe in time, when he became more used to having Fallon around all the time, things like this would change too. Having been on his own for so long, and no one to think of but himself, Fallon could see what a tremendous change it would be for him now.

"It's all good love. A period of adjustment is something I'm sure we all need."

Listening to her carefully thought out requests made it easy for him to see her need and the logic behind it. Nodding to her as she continued he knew to speak to Suki, she would stay at the top of the stairs unless invited down. That was not a hard request and in a few months she would have her own suite and they theirs in the new house.

"I did not realize her entrance would cause you distress. My defenses are more confrontational and I am more comfortable with them. You can blend, thus you lean towards subterfuge to defend yourself and value the space you require. I shall speak to her to make her aware of the boundries."

The car was pulling to a stop before he could apologize again, which was good as he was not used to doing so. Kissing her beautifully bare shoulder he exited the car before turning to offer her his hand. Ginger gave him a smile and a promise to be waiting when they wished to leave.

((Fallon & Cyrus out. Lock please.))
