Shalimar's Apartment

The condo is a one story unit, joined by a common wall on the bedroom side. It is located in one of the upper middle class neighborhoods...quiet, and friendly feeling, inhabited by all kinds including younger families with small kids. The streets are lined with huge established cedars and maples, and most of the yards are landscaped well, if a bit simply.

The condos are about five years old, and from the outside constructed of brick and white wood siding, with marine blue trim. There are matching shutters on the windows, which are all dual paned for efficiency and added soundproofing. They appear as small cottages, and each building includes two units.

Her condo is surrounded on two sides by heavy woods, and the front of the units face the street. There are separate garages, and carports on each side of the compound, as well as in a designated area in back, between the units and the woods.

The interior of the condo is basic sheet-rock walls, with crown moldings and wainscoting, or chair rail along all the walls. The floors are either ceramic tile, as in the kitchen and baths, or hardwood through out the rest of the unit. Shay's bedroom is an exception, with highly polished marble floors. The ceiling in all the rooms are eight feet, and the windows are all quite high, as well.

Each unit owner has the ability to change the interior walls to suit their tastes and needs. Shay's unit has a 'panic' room, that is hidden in the area at the end of her hallway, by a bookcase. Inside it is set up as a shelter for her, to use in the event of tornadoes, or other natural, or unnatural disasters. Her small gun collection is kept there as well. The shelter is stocked to service two people for seven days.
