Late Night with Unwanted Visitors.((Panos and Co.))

Meegan stood from her drafting table, put her hands in the small of her back and bent backwards as far as she could. Straightening, she twisted at the waist using her arms to guide the movement. She bent and touched her toes, hanging limp there for a moment, then slowly rolled up one vertebra at a time. She was working late tonight, her winter dead line loomed and she still needed at least seven more designs, and that was only for Gothic-ah. Luckily Gothic Threads had it's own team of designers that she met with once a month to go over sketches. Her subsidiary ran itself very, very well.

She was alone in the Gothic-ah building having forced Rachyl out at five with everyone else, the darling woman had brought her food, but Meegan didn't let her stay. By six-thirty it had just been her, the classic composers of Punk and her drafting table. So far she had one design, and she was starting to pencil the fifth draft of a second.

She was secure in the knowledge of the only way in or out of her building was through the front door via a buzzer that rang right to her phone. Cameras and two security guards took care of the rest.

((ooc take your time, and come when you're ready. This was floating in my head and needed to get written.))

Aron hit the third floor. There! His focus slipped off Meegan and onto the vampire. If he so much as thought about hurting her, he wanted to know before a muscle had moved. His hand was ready to turn his black staff into a swift and effective weapon.

"Diplomacy first, fighting later....After all, he hasn't hurt her yet, now has he?"

He knew she was right. If bloodshed could be avoided, then it was probably the best. Then he sensed the strength in the vampire. Perhaps as much as 5 times his own age. 5 times more experience. Aron decided that it would indeed be very good to keep the diplomatic line.

"Exscuse me, I believe Miss Meegan has an appointment"
Panos Mehalitsenos 18 years ago
Before Meegan could answer his question they were interupted by another male voice. Heslowly turned around and eyed the new comer. Another vampire, he noted. Not a Tacharan that was for sure, which was good becuase there was no telling how they would react to him.

I suposse the meeting will be put on hold then. He turned to face the other vampire and cocked his head.

You see, she has offered her help to me and i have accepted.

Meegan spun on her heel, the anger she's had at Panos' question replaced with a flood of relief. She smiled at the Aron, her confidence returning. 'Ok should I just stay back and let them settle this like gentlemen or get in the middle of it?' She looked at the intensity on Aron's face. 'Staying here would be best.' She took a step back, putting herself into the center of a circle of light given off by one of the security lights.

Not that easy. Ofcourse not. He hoped the other didn't have mind powers, or his next card might be the end of the discussion.

"I'm afraid this is rather urgent. I'm sure you could do without her help, no?"

As the words escaped his lips, he focused his powers on making every single word as persuasive as possible ((suggestion)). For once, Aron was sorry he wasn't an Antanya. Turning into a grizzly bear right now, seemed like a good idea.
Panos Mehalitsenos 18 years ago
Panos took a step back. He thought about just leaving and possibly comming back at a later time.

Then he remembered why he had sent Chryseis away. He wasnt going to share then, and he wasnt going to share now.

Hmm, you know what, i could do with out. I could also, come back at a later time. But, alas, i wont and i'm sure you understand why. I couldnt possibly blow off this beautiful womens help, it would simply be rude of me.
Meegan 18 years ago
Meegan stepped further into the pool of light. Doing her best to stay out of sight, and hopefully it would keep her safe. 'Well safer any way. Because until he's gone I will not be safe not completely.'
Aron Swiftwood 18 years ago
So much for cheap tricks...He wanted to sigh, but didn't. It was not the time to show any weakness.

"Ohh I'm sure she wil forgive you. Besides, I find her quite common. I mean, her nose...She is a bit ugly, isn't she?"

Once again he tried, not that he thought it would work, it was fairly obvious where this would end, but there was little reason not to try. He wondered how the bloody hell he could tell a lie like that with a straight face.
Meegan 18 years ago
Meegan's mouth fell open, but she managed not to say anything. He was trying to get Panos to leave. 'But did he have to call me ugly?' She wanted to stamp her foot and pout. She pushed the urge away, knowing it would be better not to bring attention to herself.
Panos Mehalitsenos 18 years ago
Ohh I'm sure she wil forgive you. Besides, I find her quite common. I mean, her nose...She is a bit ugly, isn't she?

Panos could not believe what the other man had just said. He could feel the anger in his chest well up. He took a step forward towards the man and tensed. What was going on here? Something didn't seem right.

Stopping himself from moving any further in the other mans direction, Panos turned his head and looked back to Meegan. His eyes narrowed.

You think to play me for the fool? You silent reaction to words that harsh makes me wonder. Why aren't there words flowing from your lips now? Has the cat got your tounge?
Meegan 18 years ago
'Shit.' A perfectly sculpted brow rose into the thin line of hair laying against her forehead. Her face and body showed nothing of the knot of fear in her belly. She crossed her arms over her chest, and managed to look down her nose at Panos. 'There, the ever regal queen in her castle. Hope this works.'

"What would you have me say? Should I tear across this space trying to claw his eyes from his head? Or perhaps you would prefer I cower in a corner like a little girl while the adults settle the matter? Or could it be that I know our friend here is prone to saying stupid things for the shock value of them?"

Meegan had gotten caught up in her little tirade. She took a step forward her hands sliding to rest on her hips. Her eyes glared cold daggers at the vampire, her voice and breath remaining steady as she controls her emotions.

"You have given me little choice in anything this evening Panos Mehalitsenos. You have brought violence to my place of business, given me no choice but to harbor a runaway. I might mention you have healed completely and no longer need my assistance. Perhaps Mr. Mehalitsenos, you can give me a choice in the matter instead of throwing pretty words at me and placing blame where it is not warranted."

She stood two long paces from Panos having moved forward as she spoke. Her chest had begun to heave with her vehemence, as angry little flames licked at the daggers in her eyes.
Aron Swiftwood 18 years ago
No good, no good at all.... Well, at least he had tried. A last attempt before he drew the blade.

"Allright, enough! I consider this one mine and I STRONGLY suggest that you go find your own. I do NOT wish to fight you"

He let the jacket slide off his soulders and threw it to Meegan.

"Hold this Meegan, don't want to get it dirty"

As the words left his lips, completely other words sounded in Meegans head.

"Keys are in the pocket. Be ready to run. It's a black jaguar. Go to my house, Jeeves will protect you"
Panos Mehalitsenos 18 years ago
Panos turned back to the other vampire and grinned again.

I see.

This vampire was young, but so young he would be this reckless. Maybe he didnt realize who stood before him. Laughing at the act of valor Panos shook his head.

He turned back to Meegan who was now holding his coat. She had taken a few steps forward and was now alot closer to him than she had been. It would be so easy to just snatch her up and go...

But he wasn't going to, not yet at least. He didn't know the exact power of the other vampire and he didn't want to risk it just yet. There would be more nights to come. For now, he would take his leave and do a little research.

This evening seems to be comming to an end miss Meegan. Fear not fair beautiful woman, there will be many more evenings and encounters to be had.

Before either of them had a chance to speak again, Panos darted to the stair well and slammed through the door, tearing down the stairway, five steps at a time.

(OOC: Panos out but waitin for response!)
Aron Swiftwood 18 years ago
Aron let out a sigh of relief. Chances were he would've lost, and lost big at that. He hoped this would be the last time he saw that particular vampire, but he doubted it. He would have to find some information on him. It would be good to know if he was facing something that would suddenly turn into a 20 feet anaconda.

"Meegan...are you allright?"
Meegan 18 years ago
That was way too easy, and it put the knot of fear in her throat. He would be back and she had no idea what to do about it. She turned to Aron, holding out his coat to him.

"No not really. What part of this am I supposed to be alright about?"

She put three fingers to her forhead, and sighed. 'It's not his fault, don't take it out on him.'

"I'm sorry. It's not your fault. I don't even know who the hell that man is. Or why he was even in my studio. What I do know is that he's in a lot of trouble with very powerful people."
Aron Swiftwood 18 years ago
Aron took the jacket.

"Don't say sorry....I should have killed him, but...he's strong...old and very powerful"

Coward! You should have chased him, left him for the sunlight. She won't get a moments peace till you have.

"And what purpose would that have served love? You know nothing about him, absolutly nothing. He could have turned into a bat and done to her, what you just prevented"

He took the jacket on.

"Come...you shouldn't be alone tonight. We'll find out what to do..."
Meegan 18 years ago
"Let me get my sketches. I have work to do and I need to do it tonight."

She turned toward her office and took a few steps, when Aron didn't follow her she looked over her shoulder at him. She was tired, had work to do, and he was just standing there. She needed to do something to get her mind off of almost having to watch him die, and off almost getting herself killed.
Aron Swiftwood 18 years ago
Sometimes, Aron wondered if his abillities were a curse or a blessing. He knew exactly what she was going through, and it made him feel oddly helpless.

"Is it something you can do at my house? Or if you'd rather...be without my company...then I knew a hotel of sorts, where you'll be safe..."
Meegan 18 years ago
Meegan sighed. She really wanted to go home, but Panos could easily find her home, and it wasn't vampire proof. She put three fingers to her forehead again.

"Yes, I can. I have a portable drafting table and a drawing kit. Let me leave a note for Rachyl, so that she doesn't flip. Would that be ok?"

She continued to her office, listening for Aron's answer.
Aron Swiftwood 18 years ago
He followed her into her office. He couldn't sense the other vampire, but if he was a shapeshifter or strong psycic he might not be able to.

"Go ahead....you don't have to get my permission...."

He hoped she wouldn't bury herself in work. It was very likely she would if he let her though....
Meegan 18 years ago
Meegan sighed once more as she gathered her things, pulling a thin silver collapsed table from between her bookshelf and the wall. She set that against her desk then took out what looked like a large black tackle box. She tucked art board and sketch paper into the outside pockets, and set it next to the drafting table. As she passed Aron to go into Rachyl's office she paused and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you." She kissed his cheek softly, then walked quickly into Rachyl's office, ignoring the tug in her belly. She left a brief note:

R~

I won't be in tomorrow. Call my cell if you need me. I will be at ~S~. ~J~ will be answering my calls.

<3
~M

It said nothing to anyone but Rachyl, she hoped. She left the smaller office and went back into her own to pick up her table and kit.

"Ready?"
