On the prowl ((lock))

When the elevator doors opened and the roar of music and voices washed in she blinked, suprised. This was certainly not what she'd expected, but it wasn't unpleasant either. The club was packed, almost overflowing. She pushed and shoved her way to the bar and got the bartender's attention. Over the din she shouted,

Beer, bottled.

She waited and paid him when he set down a frosty long neck. She turned and leaned on the bar, studying the club.

((OOC Just hanging out, if anyone wants to come over feel free)

Jan 18 years ago
"Will he offer me his mouth?"

Jan commented dryly adding the next line to the familiar song. He set down his glass again and watched her intently. Amberelle had continued the line of questioning with the song even after he had given her an answer and that more than anything suggested she was looking for something. If she'd been human his answer would have been taken as a typical statement here and that would be the end of it. Of course, she could be a human who knew the truth about vampires.

When she tilted her head back and offered her neck to him, Jan's decision leaned towards her being human. A human that knew about vampires and enjoyed being bitten?... perhaps. Interesting and dangerous. He glanced around to see if anyone was paying more attention to them than they should but that did not seem to be the case, not likely a trap then. There was still a chance she was his own kind but a vampire wasn't likely to offer such a thing and yet he wasn't a threat, now was he? Little guy and not a fighter at that.

Jan leaned down to the exposed neck, running his lips delicately across it, opening his mouth he extended his fangs and let her feel the faint drag of them against her skin before leaning back just enough to watch her with calm eyes.

"Yes"

His voice was a low murmur in answer but this close he did not doubt that she heard him. Jan leaned back and picked up his wine then.

"Though you offered me a drink already. Are you offering another?"

((OOC: Good choice, we were singing another Meatloaf song just the other day ))
Amberelle DeEspionne 18 years ago
At first as Jan leaned over and she felt his lips on her neck it was like an inferno roared to life in her. Her eyes fluttered closed and her breathing was rough. It felt so good, to be touched. She was about to ask him when the band would be done when she felt the fangs. Her eyes flew open and she inhaled sharply, her body going stiff. Those were not dental implants, she would have seen them when he spoke. 'Oh mon dieu here I am, tempting the devil like this.. Well at least I know.' There was a small pang of regret, she wouldn't admit how disapointed she was.

As he leaned away she composed herself quickly, and took a deep sip of her wine. She looked at him over her glass. He was calm, but now she saw him more as the languid predator than as the brooding artist she had before.

I bet you say that to all the girls.. She spoke softly, just over her wine glass. With a slow sigh she set down her glass and looked at him for a moment, then continued. And well.. as for another drink.. I've already done my playing and had my fill of that for the night. With a small shrug, she extended her fangs then smiled at him a little to show them off.

Such restraint, so close and not even trying to take a taste. Don't tell me you're one of the bleeding heart, human lover clan?

((OOC : Thankies, it seemed like a fitting song! Poor Amby, she's really such a snob.. even if her views are more Evenhet. It's kind of funny.))
Jan 18 years ago
"No, I simply don't like to dine in public. If you wanted to hang around until after the show." Jan shrugged. "I'd be more than happy to oblige you by making you a meal. Though I must say I'm surprised one of our kind would be so willing? Must have been one -hell- of a bite your creator had."

He smiled at her and sighed. "I have to admit. It was quite pleasant. I wish I could remember it better."

So she wasn't Evenhet and he'd never seen her in Tacharan. Woah, an Anantya in the House of Pain! That has got to be a sign of the end times if ever he'd heard of one. He looked over at her again, taking in the clothes and the mannerisms. There seemed to be some properness to her, a certain manner underlying the more outward appearance. Now that he knew to look for it, she seemed more refined than the course exterior suggested. Jan shook his head with a smile. It was good to see the old fossils were getting some new blood, perhaps they will drag them kicking and screaming into... the 18th century at least.

"No, I don't believe Evenhet would claim me. I am an orphan through and through, my lady, Anantya. Tacharan is my home."
Amberelle DeEspionne 18 years ago
"... Must have been one -hell- of a bite your creator had."

It was all she could do not to yell at him how wrong he was. Her features tightened for a moment, a bit of anger and something else flickering across her face quickly then gone again. Amberelle was glad he hadn't bitten her, she wasn't sure but she was pretty certain she would have hurt him badly without even meaning to. 'Would have been a waste of such talent.'

"No, I don't believe Evenhet would claim me. I am an orphan through and through, my lady, Anantya. Tacharan is my home."

She couldn't help it, her jaw went a little slack. Tacharan were the most vile beasts, not much more than wild, hedonistic, uncontrolled heathens.. so she'd been told. He certainly shattered a few of her ideas. Her mouth moved silently for a second as she tried to form her response before she chuckled softly.

A Tacharan.. wow you are certainly nothing like I was taught! I'd never expected to find such an elloquent and talented one among your ranks. She snorted faintly. Yet another thing I was misinformed about, it doesn't suprise me. And it doesn't suprise me someone wanted to preserve such talent.. she smiled at Jan And just to answer the question.. No, sorry but I'm the hunter not the prey. That was just my less than subtle way of seeing how much of a 'poser vampire' you were. And.. am I really such an obvious Anantya? She pouted playfully.
Jan 18 years ago
Jan chuckled at the pout and replied.

"Well, you didn't seem to hold a high opinion of Evenhet, so you obviously weren't one of those. I think I'd recognize you if you were Tacharan so that left Anantya. Most clanless vampires wouldn't have cared what clan as I was in."

He shrugged and smiled. "No, its not so very obvious, though there is something about you. A poise, I think. It comes through even in the talk of fights and quick lays in the back. Though I have to admit those would seem more a Tacharan topic of discussion, unless it were accompanied with looks of horror." He made a mock face of dread before taking another sip of his wine.

He tilted his head and looked at her curiously.
"I can only imagine the images of Tacharan that float around Anantya. Do we eat babies? Howl at the full moon? or worse?"
Amberelle DeEspionne 18 years ago
Welll... let's just say you guys have a reputation. Wwwooo! Amberelle's tone was teasing as she rolled her eyes to emphasize. With a wink and a grin she added, But I'm not sure I should tell you everything, after all. I will however confirm the babies and howling parts though.

The blonde sipped her wine and motioned the almost empty glass to the bartender when she caught his eye. And.. thank you, for the compliment. Those are not Tacharan only pursuits, now you know. Hell, even those dusty ancients had to have gotten a good bedding or two in their time. Not that I want to think about THAT. She gave a mock little shudder.

But don't think all my clan is like me. I'm just a baby and haven't yet undergone the prude-ifying process yet. And my 'stick' is still on order so I'm free of that so far as well. She grinned, enjoying the chance to poke a little fun at her kindred.
Jan 18 years ago
"Well.. there are a few that give Tacharan its deserved reputation but not all of us run rampant in the streets. Just -most- of us."

Jan smiled at her and agreed with a shudder of his own. "Do you think they have to dust each other off first?" Taking a sip, he looked down and commented thoughtfully. "Going unused does it rust? Such a waste. I think I'll stay a part of the baby eaters if its all the same."

He laughed out loud and the prude-ifying. Perhaps Anantya had a course in it. Upon hearing about the stick, he was reminded of Cyn and the incident at the mall. "You know.. funny you should say that. A friend and I met one that would have made an excellent Anantya the other day. Very attractive blonde though. He seemed a bit out of place in a fetish shop. Excellent manners, blushed very nicely." Jan pondered the slightly taller blonde and his companion for a moment. "I believe Cyn accused him of already having a stick perhaps Anantya should find him."
Amberelle DeEspionne 18 years ago
Perfect! Where was he again, I should take some notes.. Sounds like he was bred for us.. 'Like me, maybe..' she commented a little sarcasticly to herself. Amby smiled at Jan and leaned in a little to say in a teasing conspiratorial tone, They do that you know. Breed them. Leaning back she chuckled and took a sip from her glass. 'I'd better watch it or I'm going to consume too many of these,' she mused. But she didn't care too much right now. She was having some much needed fun.

Eyeing him she pursed her lips and looked thoughtful for a moment.
You certainly don't look like a baby eater, but looks can be deceiving.

Any why does it not suprise me that you would have a friend named 'Sin'?

((OOC I presumed the pronunciation of Cyn was the same as Sin, ignore that last line if I was wrong! ))
Jan 18 years ago
"I am not at all surprised." Jan smirked. "The rest of the population is probably not good enough." Remembering the question, he added. "Oh, in the mall, at one of the gothic clothing shops. He looked pretty out of place, as I recall he was dressed fairly well, like he was planning on heading to the Grand Piazza for dinner afterwards." He shook his head, normally he'd say the guy came from work and was a closet goth during his time off, which was still possible but the blonde in question was a teenager so the most likely job someone his age would have probably required an apron and a name tag.

"Hmm.. well babies aren't for me... too fatty." He wrinkled his nose in distaste. "Not to mention, its a total waste of time for something that small." Jan waved a hand in dismissal the mention of his fellow Tacharan. " He's an orphan and probably more typical than I am. As far as a friend... that might be taking things a little far. I actually barely know him." Jan snorted mentally, thinking what he -did- know was that his fellow clan mate was a good lay and not much of a talker and that was about all he knew. Fun to be around though, too bad he seemed to have wandered off. "He does fit the name, though."

((OOC: Yes, as far as I know it is pronounced that way, which is something Jan has called him as well. ))
Talon 18 years ago
Talon scanned the interior on his way to the bar, through the dim and flashing lights of the club he couldn't see much, but he did catch a scent..a familiar one.. 'Frail...now what are you doing in a place like this?' he thought to himself with a smirk and walked up to the bar, his eyes followed the scent and surely enough there she was deep in conversation with someone.

"Pitcher of beer" he said to the bartender and watched as the man filled a pitcher with about half beer half head and tried to give it to him, a stern glare was enough to have the man correct the problem and hand him the now full pitcher, talon paid the man and took a sip from the pitcher.

Sipping from his 'Mug' he walked down to where Amberelle and the young man sat, deciding to have a little fun he stalked up to them and leaned steppng in close he looked down a Amberelle..
"What are you doing here?" he growled.
Amberelle DeEspionne 18 years ago
Amberelle pondered the handsome Tacharan across from her as she took a sip from her wine. Before coming to Nachton she wouldn't have dreamed of speaking with someone outside of her clan for fear of being seen and punished for her association. It was kind of thrilling, the forbidden aspect of him. 'Witty, articulate, sexy.. Just make him a few inches taller and add some muscles and he'd be perfect' she mused to herself.

Perhaps we should discuss the other types of 'sin' you know.. The blonde seemed to stop in mid sentance as she caught a familiar scent. 'I wonder what he.. Merde!' Her golden eyes widened in suprise and anger as Talon sauntered up and leaned in close to her. She glanced up and into his menacing glare.

Not that it is any of your concern but I was trying to have a conversation here.. 'Does he have to stand so close? And smell so good?' She drew a faintly shaky breath and tilted her chin up defiantly.

((( OOC So sorry guys! I was sure I'd responded to this Friday, I know I wrote it )))
Jan 18 years ago
Jan looked over at the new arrival and his proximity to Amberelle. Looked jealous to him, he wondered if this was some boyfriend of hers and by her reaction to him that was quite probably the case. Great, I'm likely to be dragged into some internal argument. He wondered idly if the big guy was likely to punch him.

Knowing he should stay out of it, Jan did exactly the opposite, call it his perverse Tacharan nature...or just lack of anything better to do.

Leaning in to Amberelle, he said in a quiet tone.

"A great many, I assure you." Looking over at the stranger, he asked her. "A friend of yours?"
Amberelle DeEspionne 18 years ago
She glanced over at Jan and shrugged. A clansman.. he's a friend of my Grandmere. And a real pain in the ass sometimes.

Amberelle turned back to Talon and leaned her head in to his, noses almost touching. The smell of him surrounded her and she blinked, suprised at how nice it seemed, and supressed a shiver.

What do you want, hmmm?

Suddenly for no reason she had the strangest urge to reach up and run her hand through his long hair. 'It looks so soft from this close. gah! I must be insane.'
Talon 18 years ago
Talon glanced between the two and smirked 'interesting.. she likes skinny boys, i'll have to remeber that'

What do you want, hmmm?

'heh..twerp' "Wouldn't expect a frail like you in a place like this" he said while glancing around the club, he took a sip from his pitcher..

He looked Jan up and down, and then met his eyes for a moment of uncomfortable silence.. then glanced back at Amberelle
"We'll everyone here is harmless, most are just posers anyway" he said while nodding, seemingly agreeing with his own statement..

"Enjoy" he said a moved to walk away..
((ooc: moving out of the immeadiate after responces))
Amberelle DeEspionne 18 years ago
What's wrong with me in a place like this? While she'd admit to herself it wasn't her top choice of a hang out, admitting it to him was out of the question. And don't call me frail! I'm not some china doll!

Talon moved away from her and she frowned. Somehow he always managed to irritate her without even trying. With a 'hmph' the blonde tossed her hair back over her shoulder and glared at his retreating back.

And.. Just remember.. appearances can be deceiving, so don't underestimate me. Under her breath she muttered, 'Damn connard'.

Turning back to Jan she smiled an appology.
Sorry for the interuption..
Jan 18 years ago
Jan stared calmly at the large man in front of him, smirk firmly in place. He snorted at the harmless comment and ignored the rest with a roll of his eyes. The walking wall would have to rub a few more brain cells together and come up with a better insult if he wanted to get a rise out of Jan.

Turning a bored glance back at Amberelle, he watched her outraged response in reply to the man's words to her. She seemed eager to defend herself but then perhaps she was young and this was a clansman. The small bit of conversation did suggest that so he went with the assumption and hoped it didn't backfire.

"Ooh such language." Jan grinned. "Anantya has become rather..." He leaned over to look at Talon. "Untamed these days, I see." He mentally added, "and probably unwashed" before shaking his head.

"I didn't see you call him over here so its hardly your fault. A friend?"
Amberelle DeEspionne 18 years ago
'That man can be the most irritating, insufferable.. grrr!! Calm down, don't let him ruin your feeding buzz and good time here. Speak to the nice gentleman here, he asked.. what was it.. oh yes..'

Not hardly. He's a clansman, and an old friend of my family apparently. For some reason he thinks he has to look out for me. But enough about him!

She shrugged, obviously dismissing Talon. At least she tried to. His scent lingered and the tall blonde hovered in the back of her mind as she glanced about the club. With a smile she forced herself to focus back on the Orphan across from her.

Where were we?
Jan 18 years ago
Looking doubtfully at Talon, Jan turned back to Amberelle.

"I think you're more likely to keep him out of trouble than the other way around. Kick his ass and then he'll respect that you can hold your own."

Shrugging, He continued. "Its one of the only ways I know that works. People don't respect what they think is weak. Which is sometimes handy...but other times annoying. For someone that large though...I'd suggest a bat."

Jan smiled slowly and thought back, leaning closer he said in a low voice.
"We were talking about various forms of sin."

The corner of his eye caught one of his bandmates up on stage giving him a dirty look and a gesture that was clearly to be read as "Get your ass over here"

"I think our continued biblical discussion will have to wait though. My break is at an end. Perhaps we could continue this sometime. You could always pick that fight while you're here, put the bear through his paces if he really wants to protect you." Jan winked at the Anantya and weaved his way towards the stage.

((OOC: Jan out. Its been fun ))
Amberelle DeEspionne 18 years ago
As Jan walked away, she mulled over his words. While they made sense, she wasn't entirely convinced. After all, he had a high amount of respect for her grandmother Elise, and she wasn't the 'kick your ass' type. She could, Amby knew that from sparring, but she didn't act like it.

'Kind of like me.. There's only one way to figure it out for sure. And I've had my fill of fighting for the night.'

If only she felt she could contact her Grandmere and talk to her about him. But then Gustav could find out and decide to punish Elise for it. Better to wait longer and hope he would calm down some. Her head was beginning to hurt from all of this stressing.

With a sigh, she rubbed her temple with one hand and watched the band starting up. Listening to Jan's voice she smiled. 'He really is amazing.. but I have a feeling he's been at this for a while, so comparing him to most bands isn't very fair.' Chuckling to herself, she downed the last of her wine.

Staring into the empty glass for a moment she considered another glass, but decided her buzz had effectively been squashed. 'Better just go home and count my money.' Remembering her earlier aquisition made her mood brighten some and she smiled.

She grabbed up a napkin and scribbled her name and cell number onto it. Wrapping it in a fifty, Amberelle waived the bartender over and instructed him to make sure the lead singer got that. She had a feeling that wasn't an unusual request since he just nodded and slipped it into his pocket.

With the band back on stage the floors were packed again and it took a few minutes to make her way to the door. As she waited for the elevator, she glanced around trying to spy a blonde head above the crowd but didn't see anyone that looked like her clansman. Shaking her head at herself, the blonde stepped into the elevator to head back to the manor.

((OOC - Amby out))
