Catching the Sunset (Attn: Gris)

Josh had finally arrived home from New York with Mel after two weeks of working on a case there. It had been a little bit of a tangle, and it had taken them longer than expected to work out all the details and a good solution. In the end it had seemed safer to bring the young man they'd been working with to Nachton, here, and take him away from the environment he'd been in which was unsafe at best.

He had missed Gris more than he'd expected, and had thought about him more than was probably decent for such a short association. They'd texted a couple of times and had called each other once, the conversation lasting a lot longer than Josh ever spent on the phone with anyone. He couldn't help it; he just enjoyed Gris's company.

Upon arriving back in Nachton he'd had to wait a little while, as Gris had also been away. Once Gris came home Josh didn't want to seem desperate so he'd waited a day or so and then called him up to ask him if he wanted to come out with him. He had been thrilled to receive a yes; he'd thought he would but he wasn't entirely certain. By his own admission, Gris had hardly been monogamous in recent months and the idea that he might have been with someone else in the last few weeks caused Josh a good deal of anxiety. There was nothing he could do about it though; he and Gris had no formal understanding. Gris was free to see whoever he liked whenever he liked. Josh just figured he might have some catching up to do, to make sure he was still desirable.

He'd proposed a date at the Waterfront, where the cultural center was. There were a lot of shops and restaurants here, and there was a lot going on. The amphitheater had a performance in the evening and the beach was just down the way. Josh arranged dinner for them both, leaving the evening's activities sort of open-ended. They could wander around and stop when and where they liked.

He waited outside the Marina for Gris, standing calmly, patiently, his outward appearance not betraying the nerves he felt inside. Finally, he could see Gris coming down the walkway, evening sun catching his blond curls and turning them into gold. He was wearing jeans, a light colored shirt, an olive green sweater, and a very light fringed gray scarf. He looked absolutely gorgeous. Josh's heart skipped a beat or two before he firmly told it to settle down. In the back of his head, however, he was remembering with tantalizing detail what was beneath those clothes and the passionate night they'd shared.

Josh was similarly dressed, at least in clothing that was of the same weight. He had on jeans as well, deep blue and slightly worn. A white collared dress shirt was tucked into them and over that he had on a black v-neck cashmere pullover which hugged each muscle without looking like it was about to rip. Everything was, of course, freshly pressed. He didn't have on a scarf or jacket; the weather in Liechtenstein was much cooler than this in the fall, and he hadn't yet felt the need for anything heavier.

As Gris approached Josh felt his lips try to smile. Inside, he was beaming, and the expression really showed in his eyes more than his mouth. He took in the sight of Gris with a warm sparkle of approval and as the blond came closer Josh hesitated. It felt natural to want to kiss him, but they hadn't seen each other in weeks. And that had been - well... an eye-opener. Not only had the morning after not been horribly awkward but they'd had a fantastic day, at least in Josh's opinion.

Now it felt like square one again. Josh didn't want to push his luck.

"It's good to see you," he said warmly. "Did you have a good trip?"

What did you do, when you'd had one date with someone, spent a night having mind-blowing sex and the next day in a kind of heaven, and then you hadn't seen them since? Hug them? Kiss them? Offer them a firm companionable handshake? Josh had no experience with this kind of thing. He sort of hoped Gris would take that first step but if not, he'd improvise.

Gris laughed at the summation of Josh's trip and the plan to save the details for when he needed some sleep. "I feel the same way about law. There is just no good way to talk about the details without boring someone that isn't a lawyer.”

He smiled when Josh invited him over to his place to see the decorating that he had done. It sounded as if his companion had managed to come up with more than just a bed...then again perhaps that was all Josh had also and the talk of decoration was all an elaborate ruse to get him alone and in a room with a bed in it. He could handle being tricked into that. Definitely.

Josh left him to run into the restaurant but he was back out within minutes, now carrying several things. Gris took the duffle bag from Josh so that he could reclaim a hand and be helpful all at the same time.

They walked down the beach which was less occupied than it would be in the summer. It was still warm enough for a few people and there were mini gatherings around fire pits on the beach, mostly laughing teenagers. Some couples walked along the shore hand in hand. There was even a few runners who were still dedicated to their outdoor routine; one tall redhead ran down the beach with a gigantic dog.

Gris pointed to an area where the land rose more sharply. "Lets head over that way.” The grass and trees came right up to the edge and then dropped off to the beach below instead of the gradual lessening of foliage. Once they reached the area, he could see a little inset in cliff wall. It wasn't enough for a big campfire but it should be plenty big for the two of them and the rock behind them would break some of the wind from at least one direction. They were further from the shore than perhaps Josh had intended but they could certainly still see the ocean and people wouldn't be running over their dinner. "How is this?”
Joshua Wesson 11 years ago
Josh surveyed the area Gris had chosen, a light breeze gently ruffling his short hair. It felt good. It felt even better to be standing here hand in hand with Gris.

"This looks perfect," he said with a soft smile at Gris. Once they settled in they would have some break in the wind and Josh suspected that from here they would be able to hear the strains of classical music from the concert that was supposed to be starting in the amphitheater soon. The sun was setting in the west, behind them, leaving the horizon ahead of them a multitude of shades of blue, dark where it met the water and lighter above where the sky wasn't quite ready to be 'night time' yet.

They set their things down. Josh removed a thick blanket from the duffel bag; it was a comforter, very cushiony, meant for a twin sized bed. Josh didn't mind getting it dirty. Together they spread it down in the little alcove Gris had chosen. Josh pulled out two more smaller blankets, fleece, from the duffel and set them on one corner of their blanket to hold it down.

"Just in case you get cool later," he said. He expected to be out here long enough to eat, listen to some music if they could hear it, and perhaps watch the sun set. But who knew? If they were comfortable and enjoying themselves it might last longer.

"Have a seat," Josh said, smiling at Gris as he did the same, indicating for his date to sit next to him so their back was to the wall and they were facing the ocean.

From the bag he'd gotten from the Marina Josh pulled out a few things. First there were plates and some silverware; no plastic. Josh would return everything before they headed home. The plates were hard plastic, reusable and sturdy enough to withstand the outdoors. At the bottom of the bag was a small tray on wide feet; it had been turned upside down to fit in the bag. Josh removed it, set it right side up before them, and placed two wine glasses on it.

The wine was a sweet red, but not a cloying dessert sort of sweet. Just light with hints of fruit in it, reminiscent of the fading summer. The food he took out was also light. He didn't want them to be too stuffed to walk or do... other things.

There were three dishes in all, meant to be shared. The first was an appetizer of mussels, with a fresh bruschetta nestled around them in the shells. Next there was a linguine with fresh shrimp served in a light butter and garlic sauce with some wilted arugula. Along with that was a lightly seared chicken cutlet with a mushroom and wine sauce. Everything was garnished with fresh herbs and most of the produce was local to Nachton, something Josh hoped Gris would enjoy. He knew a little more about Gris's tastes from their hike several weeks ago.

It was relatively light fare, although he didn't think either of them would need any more to be satisfied. Once he had finished setting everything out so that they could reach it, Josh opened the wine and poured them each a glass.

"Dinner is served," he said with one last look over it to make sure he wasn't forgetting anything. He looked at Gris. "I hope you enjoy it."

He didn't know exactly what all of Gris's favorite foods were but he remembered their previous dinner and their conversations from the hike and thought, or rather hoped, he'd hit the mark. If this wasn't a relaxing way to arrive back home then Josh didn't know what else to do.

Of course, he was looking forward to eventually lying Gris down and relaxing him even further but that would have to wait. They were completely exposed here on the beach. Josh wasn't going to count out some tantalizing foreplay though.

He held his glass up lightly to Gris and said,
"Welcome home."

Gris watched as Josh started unpacking. Standing there he felt a little like the damsel in distress or the girl in the horror films who does nothing but scream when there were so many other very practical things she could do to help her situation. In this case, there was little he could do but watch; so instead of feeling guilty for not having something productive to help with he took the opportunity to admire his companion. Josh was handsome, more so because he didn't seem to know exactly how good looking he was. Josh knew that he was healthy and he obviously worked very hard to remain that way but his raw good looks went beyond the amazing abs and incredibly appealing tight ass. He loved that almost innocent charm when Josh did something completely and utterly sexy without even realizing it. So many people put on an act, posed toward their best side at the dinner table, played coy, affected a certain speech pattern or tone when they were out on a date. Josh was himself and that was what he wanted. Watching Josh crawl over the blanket to tuck down the corners, Gris hummed softly in satisfaction at the view. Oh, how he wanted, very much.

He gladly settled down next to Josh with his back against the rock. Gris pulled his knees up to his chest and leaned his chin down on them as he watched Josh pull things from the magic dinner bag. There was wine and silverware and an array of goodies.

"This looks wonderful, Josh.” He waited until his companion had settled back next to him once more and gave him a gentle kiss on the cheek.

Picking up his glass, Gris smiled and raised his own. "Thank you. And the same to you. Cheers!” He breathed in the aroma of the wine, getting an idea of what he was about to drink and then tasted the first swallow. It was beautiful and rich, fruity but not too sweet and seemed to accompany the setting perfectly.

Gris reached for a plate and put some of the linguine and shrimp on it, wanting to enjoy it while it was still at its warmest. With the first bite of pasta and shrimp in his mouth, he made little noises of pleasure, pointing with the now empty fork at his plate. Eventually, after he had slowly savored his first bite, Gris was able to comment. "This is exquisite.”

If he known that coming back to Nachton would be this good then he would have felt better while he was gone. He had come home to his friends who said they had missed him and made time for him and now this perfect evening with Josh, who had obviously put a lot of thought and planning into this date. Gris was impressed and touched by it.

"So is that.” He nodded toward the colourful setting sun. Turning to his companion, he smiled. "And so are you.”
Joshua Wesson 11 years ago
After they raised their glasses to each other and tasted the first sip of wine, both Gris and Josh helped themselves. Since Gris went first to the pasta Josh helped himself to a small piece of chicken and a mussel. The mussel he lifted, cut through the muscle that attached it to its shell, and held to his mouth as a scoop. The bruschetta, fresh tomatoes, garlic, basil, and mozzerella cheese, was delicious with the slightly salty tang of the mussel itself. The aftertaste was one of olive oil, refreshing and cleansing.

Gris was similarly enjoying his pasta, if the yummy noises were any indication. If that hadn't been enough, his words after his first bite made Josh positively beam. All right, maybe not beam, but he did smile. A real smile.

"I'm glad you like it," he said.

Gris's further words made him blush, color rising quickly to his cheeks. Josh wasn't sure he'd ever been referred to as exquisite before. In fact, he knew he hadn't. Setting his plate on the tray for a moment Josh leaned forward and turned a bit. Touching Gris's jaw lightly he kissed him upon his lips without a trace of hesitation. He'd been dying to kiss him properly since the beginning of their date but so far he'd had to content himself with small brief kisses and that one delicious taste of the skin of Gris's neck.

Now that they were tucked back in relative privacy Josh didn't think anything of stealing a more intimate kiss. They weren't alone by any means but a couple sharing a romantic dinner watching the sunset and embracing was a fairly commonplace sight around here, as he'd learned in the past week. The only undue attention they were bound to draw was because they were a pair of men, and Josh simply didn't think there was enough traffic passing through at the moment for it to be of particular note to anyone.

So he kissed Gris thoroughly, asking firmly for access to his partner's mouth with a brush of his tongue over those lips, delving deeply in when it was granted. In that moment Josh didn't care who Gris might have been with while he was gone, in the weeks that they hadn't seen each other. He wanted Gris to be only with him, and he put that full desire into his kiss, attempting to send the message to Gris without words.

Josh pulled away before he could get too carried away, although he kept his face close to Gris's and softly kissed the point of his cheek bone, the side of his jaw, and just below his ear while he spoke.

"I'm sorry," he said. "I've been wanting to do that since I saw you this evening."

That and much, much more.
Greer Grayson 11 years ago
Josh was even more handsome when he blushed, his pale skin warming with colour. He treasured those rare little moments all the more for their spontaneous uncontrolled nature which was so different from his companion's normal personality.

When Josh reached out and touched his jaw and leaned in toward him, Gris gently set his plate aside. He did it without looking, not wanting to pull his eyes away from the compelling grey ones that regarded him so intently.

The kiss was not gentle or sweet; it was passionate, perhaps even demanding, but also loving. Gris wondered how that was possible, how Josh could convey so much without saying a word, even has he opened himself to that kiss and invited Josh in, to have as much of him as he wanted.

As his companion pulled back but not away, he apologized for that amazing moment. Gris chuckled softly and reached up to run a gentle hand through Josh's dark hair. "Don't be sorry. I have been wanting you to do that since I saw you standing there waiting for me.”

Gris reached over to Josh's plate and slid the chicken onto his own. Then he placed the empty plate beneath his and sat them in Josh's lap. Free of dinnerware, he snuggled closer, wrapping his arm around Josh's muscular back, reveling in the feel of him, warm and very real in his arms. He tried many times while he was in England to recapture the feeling of being with Josh but it was a pale substitute for the real thing. "We can share.” He leaned his head on Josh's shoulder for a moment. "Now that I have you here, I don't want to let you go.”

He twirled his fork into the linguine with his off hand, which made it a little slower and slightly awkward but still manageable and leaned forward just enough to get it to his mouth without either of them wearing it. "Could I trouble you, Oh wielder of the knife, for a piece of chicken?”
Joshua Wesson 11 years ago
Josh smiled a bit more at Gris. "Well okay... I wasn't all that sorry anyway." Still close to Gris, he flashed him a very brief, uncharacteristic grin. "I'm likely to do it again."

The grin was gone quickly, replaced by a softer expression. What was it about Gris that made Josh able to be more expressive? He felt like it was a mystery. Maybe it was the fact that Gris himself seemed so ready with a smile and a laugh; it was infectious.

He was delighted when Gris rearranged their plates and snuggled close, wrapping an arm around him. Josh sighed happily and turned his head to kiss Gris's soft curls when the other man leaned against him.

"Don't let go then," he murmured pleasantly. Reaching over toward the edge of the blanket he grabbed one of the throws. It was easy to tuck it over their laps, holding the plates up for a second to arrange it. It would ward off the mild chill that was creeping in as the sun sank lower and keep them clean just in case they spilled; this position was so much cozier but a little awkward for eating. That didn't matter. Josh would prefer Gris close.

"You could, if it were any trouble," Josh answered when Gris made his next request. "However, since it isn't any trouble, it will just have to be my very great pleasure to give you what you want."

As he spoke he cut a reasonable sized bite from the chicken. He speared it upon his fork with a slice of portabella mushroom and swirled it in the wine sauce, then with his hand cupped under it offered it to Gris.

Cutting through another mussel Josh offered that to Gris as well.
"Did you want to try one? I wasn't sure about these but they looked so good on the menu."

Josh loved seafood and he had seen Gris eat shrimp, so he knew those were safe, but some people were squidgy about mollusks. Everything he'd read about the Marina had maintained that it was a highly reputable restaurant with incredible ratings, so he'd felt safe in ordering them. He didn't regret it.
Greer Grayson 11 years ago
Gris laughed when Josh admitted that he wasn't all that sorry about the kiss and would probably do it again. "Well then, I shall remain vigilant to the possibility of spontaneous displays of affection.”

When he wrapped his arms around his companion and claimed that he didn't want to let him go, Josh agreed, advising that he not let him go. "I don't intend to.” Gris spoke softly, almost more to himself than to his date.

Josh cut up a piece of chicken, added some mushroom and sauce and then brought it close so that he could lean forward and eat it, claiming it was no trouble at all. Gris took the bite and chewed thoughtfully, enjoying the flavors. "That is good.” The wine and mushrooms added a nice earthy flavor to the chicken, very savory which was something that cooks seemed to reserve for beef for some unknown reason. He used chicken, turkey and fish almost exclusively, finding beef rarely to his taste. It was hard to get it cooked enough to suit him and still keep it tender but some places did manage. He would try other things on a menu first and see how a restaurant dealt with meats he knew he liked before letting them try something as iffy for him as beef. Lamb and deer were right out of the question. He disliked deer no matter how it was cooked and lamb had to be done by a knowledgeable and well respected Greek restaurant before he would even deign to try a bite.

Taking the mussel from Josh, he tipped it into his mouth and chewed, setting the shell down and adding a bite of the bruschetta as well. It was light and flavorful with its mix of fresh tomatoes and herbs; the mussel gave it a nice hint of the sea. Gris finished the rest of the piece and nodded his head. "That was a great choice.” It was lighter than the other two dishes in taste, though none of the three were very heavy. "Excellent. I think we are going to have to visit the marina restaurant more often.”

Twirling up another bite of pasta, he smiled at his companion and asked. "Do you always have such good luck finding excellent restaurants in new cities? Because if you do then I will just have to take you with me when I travel some place new.” London he had sorted though new places were popping up all the time but he had friends and relatives, some that he could even trust, who would give him opinions on the newer places in the area.

Gris's soft words sent a warm flush of pleasure through Josh's body. Had he really just heard that? Was it meant seriously? Could he truly hold Gris's attention, make him forget his affairs and any previous partners? Josh would like to do that. He wanted to be enough for Gris. Josh didn't do whirlwind romances; he was a monogamous person who picked a partner and stayed with them. He had his fears, of course, since he and Gris differed there tremendously, but Gris didn't explain the reason behind his flitting about to Josh. He may not have found someone he liked well enough; he might fear commitment; there were any number of reasons. Josh was willing to bet on Gris rather than against him. He didn't seem like a man who didn't know his mind.

None of his doubts showed upon his face. Josh had long since learned to take any news, any situation, in stride. He'd had to, when he'd lost his father. He'd had to learn to remain calm regardless of what was happening, to be the one everyone counted on to put on a brave face, so it was habit to do so with Gris. If he wanted Gris to rely on him he had to prove he was worthy of it.

"I'm glad you're enjoying it. We'll come back for sure," Josh said contentedly when Gris approved of the dinner.

As they sat close together, enjoying their meal and watching the ocean, Josh knew he could easily get used to this. He took a bite of linguine, pleased with the rich buttery sauce and the slight peppery taste of the arugula. When Gris asked him about finding restaurants he laughed softly.

"Actually, I guess I do," he mused, "but it's less about luck and more about knowing how to find the good spots in any city."

He lifted his shoulders. He wasn't bragging, he had traveled extensively.
"You just get used to knowing who to ask and what to look for. I like to try new things, and food is so indicative of culture, so when Gretta and I moved around the first things we looked for were good restaurants with local fare."

He watched a couple strolling by, hand in hand, the man carrying two pairs of shoes. Their pants were rolled up and they'd clearly been wading in the surf. It was a bit chilly for that right now, but maybe someday that would be them. Josh hugged Gris close and leaned over to him to kiss his temple and lightly nip at his ear before returning his attention to not toppling their dinner all over the blanket.

"I hope there won't be too much travel in the future for you," Josh said earnestly. "My schedule is enough to handle, and I've been promised I won't be traveling as much as I used to now that we're here in Nachton."

Unless they were traveling together. Josh didn't even bring that possibility up, although it was very much on his mind. They simply hadn't been together long enough. Then he checked himself. Were they together now? Was this... a 'thing?' He badly wanted it to be but they hadn't discussed it and he wasn't going to push. Patience, he told himself, just enjoy the evening.

When they had finished their dinner Josh cleared the plates and the tray, packing everything back into the insulated bag to return to the Marina. Then he leaned back against the earthen wall behind them, holding his arm out to Gris. The sun had set and the sky was dark. The light was low since the nearest light source was probably the dock, which was a bit of a walk from here.

"Thank you for having dinner with me," Josh said with a smile. "I'm glad you weren't too tired to come out."
Greer Grayson 11 years ago
Josh explained that it wasn't luck so much as knowing who to ask in each city. Since they were talking about new places that Josh probably hadn't yet made friends in then there must be some local establishments that he trusts the opinion of. Hotel concierge? Dry Cleaner? If he found himself on an unexpected trip then he might have to further discuss this knowledge source with Josh. For him though there was always the local pack members to ask. That was yet another benefit of being part of the R'asa.

However, his companion said he hoped there wouldn't be traveling for him in the future. For the most part Gris hoped that was the case as well. He definitely didn't want to move around anymore and for the moment even short trips had lost most of their appeal. But once he felt truly settled here then he might want to take some vacations, hopefully with his companion.

"I hope so also.” Gris squeezed Josh a little tighter. "And I hope you will be staying in town a bit more too.” Which, according to Josh, was the plan. He liked that plan; they should stick to the plan.

When they were done eating and everything was packed away Josh settled back and held out his arm. Gris gladly tucked himself beneath it, wrapping his own low around his companion's back. He leaned his head once more on Josh's shoulder.

Josh thanked him for joining him and suggested that he might have been too tired. "I doubt that.” Gris nuzzled his check against Josh's sweater. "Not too tired for you.” It did feel kind of late in the evening but for now things were still good. He might succumb to sleep sooner than he would like tonight but hopefully there would be the next day.

"What are your plans for tomorrow, if I might ask?” Gris smiled. "In case I fall asleep on you far too early tonight.” He would hate to make a horrible date for their first time together in several weeks but if he at least knew that he could make it up the following day then he would feel a little less anxious about it.
Joshua Wesson 11 years ago
Josh hummed a contented sigh as Gris came into his arms and rested against him. He pulled the light fleece blanket up to their waists and then wrapped his other arm around Gris, holding him tightly. He liked being out on the beach like this, or at least mostly on the beach. The sound of the ocean was soothing and the waves were low so instead of a crashing sound the water was making a gentle lapping noise as it hit the sand then receded.

"I had none," he answered Gris when his date asked about the following day. That made him happy; he had hoped they would spend the night together and then enjoy another day with each other and it seemed that perhaps Gris's thoughts had been along those lines as well. "Is there anything you'd like to do in particular?"

He brushed his hand gently over Gris's blond hair, something Gris had confessed to him he liked last time they were together. Josh loved his partner's hair. The soft golden curls were irresistible. He ran his fingers through them gently, trailing down the line of Gris's neck and over his shoulder.

In the distance the orchestra had begun their concert in the amphitheater. The strains of gentle music drifted through the air in counterpoint to the lapping ocean. This was exactly what Josh had hoped for. It was nice to know that things were going to go his way tonight, as far as setting and ambiance were concerned. Hopefully Gris found it just as relaxing.

"Did you want to get closer to the music?" he murmured, pressing his lips against the top of Gris's head. "My vote is to stay here, but if you like we can move in."

It was, maybe, a little bit on the cool side now that the sun was truly gone and the bit of light wind that had been coming down the beach had a slight edge on it. But it drove away any lingering flies or mosquitoes that might have been tempted by them and with Gris pressed against him and the blanket over them, Josh for one was perfectly comfortable. Above them the moon was a a waning gibbous, and cast plenty of light so that they weren't in the dark.

There was nothing to stop him from doing so, so Josh gently touched Gris's face, turning his partner up toward him, and lowered his mouth to Gris's. He'd warned him he was likely to kiss him again and now seemed a perfect time. Unlike before, however, his kiss began far more gently. Dinner was done, hey had nowhere urgent to go and no time limit on how long they could be here. They had the leisure to enjoy themselves as much as they liked, so Josh took his time, gently nipping at Gris's lower lip, flicking his tongue against his partner's mouth until he was given access to it to taste, to tease, to reacquaint himself with Gris's lips. In three weeks he hadn't forgotten how this felt, but every time he slept he dreamed about it and he was glad to confirm that his mind had not built Gris up to some god-like stature - kissing him really was that good.
Greer Grayson 11 years ago
He nodded his head slightly against Josh's shoulder, closing his eyes and enjoying the moment. "Something quiet, just the two of us.” Gris thought for a moment. He had enjoyed their time in the woods and the making of food later. They had gotten a chance to know each other a little better and not worry about the prying eyes of anyone who might not approve of their relationship or displays of affection in public as a general rule. "Perhaps we could rent some movies from redbox and get some ingredients for another home cooked meal. I wouldn't mind being lazy for a day to help get myself back on eastern time.” He tilted his head up and smiled at Josh. "but I would like to be lazy with you.” Settling his head back against Josh's shoulder, Gris hoped that suggestion was appealing. He did not feel up for high energy running around which probably seemed counter to his normal countenance.

Josh's hand in his hair felt good; he sighed contentedly and closed his eyes again. Classical music had started playing from somewhere nearby. He wondered if Josh knew that there was a concert at the harbor or if that was a happy accident. Somehow, having come to respect Josh's ability to consider every angle and possibility, he suspected that his companion knew exactly what was playing and when.

Answering Josh's question about whether he wanted to get closer to the music, Gris shook his head and murmured. "No, I am happy here, thanks.” He was a werewolf and he could hear the music just fine, even over the lapping waves and his date's heartbeat that was so close to his ear. Of course Josh could not hear it nearly as well. Gris was about to ask if Josh wanted to get closer but that question was answered with another vote to stay right where they were.

There was immediate incentive to stay put. Josh tilted his head up and kissed him again. This was gentle and lingering but still so wonderful. It conveyed that they had all the time in the world and that sentiment was perfect. Gris turned more fully toward Josh and placed his free hand against his partner's solid chest. He couldn't help run his thumb along it in lazy strokes, wishing there wasn't so much fabric between his fingers and Josh's skin. "Hmm, dessert looks appetizing."
Joshua Wesson 11 years ago
Josh's personal preference was that they not be terribly quiet, but he realized he was thinking with lower parts of him and he understood Gris's meaning. He smiled and kissed his date gently once again. "Quiet sounds good," he said. "I liked cooking with you, and everyone can use a lazy day now and then. You deserve one."

He would love to spoil Gris just a little bit tonight and tomorrow. He liked seeing a smile on his face, and he knew from Gris's reluctance to discuss his family that there was deep dissatisfaction in that relationship. It only made Josh want to strive to give him everything he could from theirs.

"Does it now?" Josh murmured at the mention of dessert when he and Gris broke apart and Gris's fingers were gently touching his chest. "I seem to recall being dessert on another occasion."

He looked down at himself critically.
"I haven't been able to work out as much as usual but I didn't realize I'd turned into a cream puff."

With one hand in a splint he couldn't very well work out just the other one; that would lead to some very tragic lopsidedness so Josh had instead focused on more cardio, jogging much more frequently. As a result he had actually lost a moderate amount of weight over the past five weeks, becoming slightly more lean rather than sturdily muscular. He wasn't terribly worried; he could get it back quickly.

He pulled his duffel bag over to serve as a little padding between his back and the earthen wall he leaned against and held Gris a bit closer. He didn't bother to hide his arousal beneath the fleece that was spread over them; it didn't embarrass him. It was too dark here for anyone to notice unless they were right on top of them. He and Gris were hardly going to do anything about it here and now, either, so he was resigned to patience. That suited him fine. He was eager to love Gris again but he could wait; it was, at this point, a foregone conclusion.

He let his hand drift gently down Gris's side and back up, caressing him idly while they lay there listening to the music and the water.
"Were there some more stores you wanted to visit tonight?" He asked softly. It didn't matter to him if they shopped more or just went back to his place. It sounded like Gris could use some rest though, and Josh didn't want to keep him out if he was very tired.
Greer Grayson 11 years ago
Gris was happy that the day he had envisioned for tomorrow was agreeable to Josh. He really had wanted to spend his weekend with him before he had to go back to work on Monday. He needed this time to unwind from his trip but he hadn't wanted to do it alone. Gris figured that if Josh had not wanted to join him or had other things to do then he would have invited Kiyo over to The Rails and they could have gamed and watched television all day. He could have made them some snacks and maybe a meal later. Well, he could have made himself some snacks; Kiyoshi was a tough wolf to cook for because he didn't like anything cooked. Considering his own distaste for raw food that made preparing food for Kiyoshi a little difficult. Luckily there didn't seem to be much prep necessary. Warm meat in a bowl seemed to work fine. Disgusting. Hanging out would have still been fun though.

However, spending time with Josh was first choice and he was elated that he was going to get to do so.

"I could also bring over the play station or something and we could play some games.” It would be something to do if they got bored of simply sitting and watching television. Right, there were other things that they could, and probably would, do if they got bored with the movies.

Josh said he hadn't been able to work out as much as he would like. It really didn't show. He certainly wasn't the cream puff he was claiming to resemble. Gris thought maybe he seemed more lean, not less but he could be wrong about that. Either way, Josh was wearing a jumper and it was night so it was hard for him to tell.

Later, he planned to be able to take a closer look.

"I can think of some exercise....if you are worried about it.” He smiled coyly. "But I don't think there is anything to worry about. You don't look like a cream puff but you do look tasty.”

Gris waggled his eyebrows. "However, maybe you should get some exercise in tonight anyway, just in case.” He would even help. It seemed only fair.

He didn't need to shop any more tonight and told Josh as much. At least he didn't need to shop urgently. Gris needed to do more shopping but he wasn't going to want to wander around Nachton when there were some nice private apartments to go home to. Josh had already kissed him twice tonight and he wanted more. He wanted all of the dessert sitting next to him and he wanted to spend some quality time enjoying it.

Josh couldn't remember the last time he'd done nothing all day but watch movies and play games (and have sex, a little part of his mind interjected - he was sure there would be plenty of that; he and Gris didn't seem to suffer from a lack of interest or motivation). he had to say he was looking forward to it, maybe with a little nervousness but not a ton. He wanted Gris to feel at home at his place, and he could already envision him sprawled out on the comfortable couch, maybe with a throw tucked over him for extra lazy value. It was supposed to rain tomorrow, anyway, so there was no compelling urge to spend it outside. Josh thought the view from his penthouse would be fantastic, with dark clouds overhead, rain pouring down, the city lights cutting through the storm. It would be a good day for slacking off on this scale.

"I've never used a playstation before," Josh admitted, "you'll have to have patience with me."

Gris knew he'd moved all over the place; Josh didn't have a ton of material possessions and those he did generally had some kind of sentimental value. He'd also told Gris before that he wasn't much of a gamer. It didn't mean he wasn't looking forward to trying it out, though, and any activity with Gris sounded like fun.

Josh managed to keep a straight face when Gris told him he didn't much resemble a cream puff.
"Well thank you," he said with an air of modesty. "I do try."

And when Gris offered to help him get a workout in, Josh's hands pulled him tight for a moment.
"That's so sweet of you," he said. "That would be a big help."

He slid his hands beneath Gris's sweater and shirt and bent to kiss him again as he ran them gently over warm skin. He moaned, a soft sound of desire, as he took in every scent, every taste, so glad they were here right now. His fingertips brushed against the waist of Gris's jeans and Josh restrained himself, traveling back up along his date's spine instead, playing over the lean muscles of his back.

"Warm-up is important," he murmured when they broke apart briefly. "Can't have you pulling anything."

"Of course.” Gris smiled at Josh. He would have patience with him, especially since he was agreeing to do something that he wasn't familiar with. It was brave to try something new in front of someone that you were trying to impress. At least he assumed Josh might be trying to impress him; he certainly wanted to impress Josh. Either way, he was doing a damn good job of it so far.

Josh thanked him for his willingness to help with the exercise. Gris smiled and laid a hand against his chest. With a modest downward tilt of his head and a quiet voice, he stated. "I do try to help those in need...”

Gris held still as Josh's hands traveled up under his clothing. He shivered, more from the much anticipated contact of warm skin against his own than the brief swirl of cold air that sneaked in when his clothing was pulled away enough to admit Josh's hands. It felt wonderful, Gris sighed and closed his eyes, wishing that he could shed clothing to allow his date to explore where ever he felt like exploring.

As those hands moved around to his back and down, Gris pressed himself against Josh, granting him more access if he wanted it. He nodded vigorously to his companion's advice. "Yes, very important.” Gris ran a hand up the inside of Josh's leg, stopping just before coming to what he really wanted a chance to focus on. He gave Josh's thigh a firm squeeze. "Proper technique can mean a better work out.” Speaking of that work out, he wasn't sure how he was going to restrain himself if they stayed out here and continued doing this. The drive home would seem like an eternity. At least they both came separately, because it would be difficult to keep from teasing Josh if they were in the car together and if Josh were driving that could be hazardous.

Josh found himself chuckling again at Gris's somewhat insincere humility. It turned him on, that Gris seemed to know exactly how attractive he was. "I find myself very much in need," he said, kissing his date once more, much more hungrily.

As their touches and caresses became much more intimate, filled with that edge of desire they had both tried to restrain, Josh wondered how it was possible to have missed someone you'd only spent a day or two with. Yet here they both were, rapidly approaching the edge of indecency in the dark, in public, yet again. He had to shake his head, his lips twisting up wryly.

"We're going to have to stop going out," he said softly, "if we keep getting stuck in this position."

He thought for a moment.
"Or, perhaps, we should indulge in that lazy day at home tomorrow."

Josh tightened his arms around Gris, moaning softly.
"God I missed you," he whispered. "Why don't you come home with me. I'll show you what I've done with the place so far and you can give me your opinion."

They dropped off the insulated bag at the Marina and took their separate cars to Josh's apartment. There, without fear of discovery or public indecency, Josh did indeed show Gris every single room in the apartment. He wasn't sure how much of it Gris remembered aside from the bed, but hey, tomorrow they could revisit the tour...
