Pakpao Sparkles! (Attn Pakpao)

Aishe twisted her lips wryly as she looked at the huge mall. Yuck. Shopping. But it was a necessary evil. If one wanted to go to the beach and swim in the ocean, one should probably have a bathing suit. She did, of course, own one already, but she found herself actually feeling somewhat girly for a change... it was the same suit Kiamhaat had seen on her for the past six years. It would be nice to wear something new, maybe something halfway sexy. Not horribly revealing; she wasn't sure if she could get away with that, but still... nice.

She turned to Pak, who wore an equal expression of distaste on her face. It made Aishe laugh; they were probably the two least likely people to get together for an evening of girl-time at the mall. Yay, the mall! Aishe sighed and laughed.

"Come on," she took Pak gently by he wrist and pulled her into the main entrance, looking for a map. "We'll find the stores we want to look in and go to each one in order of proximity to doorways. We can hit the farthest first so with each stop we're closer to the exit."

Personally, she was hoping it didn't take them more than a store or two to find a suit, but you never know... maybe once they started trying them on they might enjoy themselves. Maybe.
In the meantime she was going to plan her strategy. Wouldn't Cris be proud.

Aishe shook her head at Pak, making a face at the idea of more shopping. "I got what I came here to get," she said. "I'm good to go. Unless we're going to stop at the Lindt store."

The fact that Alex could joke around with them now made her happy. She remembered how shy and guarded he'd been when they had first met over a year ago. She still caught glimpses of unhappiness in his aura now and then, deep unhappiness, but she could tell that unhappiness was rooted in the past and not often revisited in the present. From what she guessed, Alex had had an unpleasant life before coming to Nachton. She thought she could understand. Alex was discreetly, but openly, gay. While many people were growing more and more comfortable with that, there were still plenty who were not. She had seen Alex play down his relationship with Eiryk depending on the company they were in at the time. To have him play it up here, in public, made her happy for him, that he was so comfortable.

"Is there any chance we might just wander by the Lindt store?" she prodded hopefully.

She also nodded to the idea of giving Alexander a ride home. Aishe had picked Pak up at the Towers in her Rabbit.

"I have to drop Pak back off at Liefde anyway before I head home," Aishe pointed out. "I'm pretty sure we can fit you in."

Then she considered.
"Depending on how much chocolate I buy. You know. When we go to the Lindt store."

Alex smirked at Pakpao. "Who says I haven't already?"

He wasn't entirely joking. Anyone who'd ever pinched their leg hair on a workout mat doing Ashtanga yoga would attest to the fact that sometimes, it was just easier to shave it off. Whether he had or not, he wouldn't tell. Pak would discover that for herself on the beach, if she was inclined to look and satisfy her curiosity.

Aishe was angling hard for the Lindt store, if Alex was any good at picking up on her subtle hints. He nodded at her.
"I don't have a problem with some chocolate. Maybe I'll find something Eiryk will enjoy."

On him. Oh, he shouldn't go there. Not even in his head. Then his mind would wander off in all kinds of delicious chocolate directions and - well, too late for that.

"I wonder if he can make chocolate honey mead?" Alex dragged his mind back out of the gutter.

He considered the idea of a ride from Aishe and Pak and then nodded and smiled.
"Okay. I'll take you up on it," he said. Normally he'd have chosen to walk because he just enjoyed it but he did like their company and if they lingered at the mall some he'd be eager to get home to Eiryk anyhow.

"Let's go," he said when they had paid for their purchases. "This chocolate honey mead thing has me curious."

It really did... Alex was starting to develop a habit of finding ridiculous ingredients for Eiryk to turn into alcoholic goodness. He'd already done saffron and basil, both with decent results. Chocolate would be fun.

She raised her eyebrow at Alexander and made a mental note to check his legs at the party. The idea that he might didn't phase her, it was just a bit of a challenge now. A very little one, more a point of curiosity really.

Pak shook her head at Aishe and conceded.

"If we don't check the map too close and forget where we parked I'm sure we might just wander by the Lindt store."

Pak wasn't a huge chocolate fan, she liked some generally dark, but more important she knew that Aishe was a big fan of the sweet. She was happy to oblige with a quick stop.

"As long as we don't have to try anything on and with the understanding that if the bomb squad shows up we leave and never come back."

It was sweet that Alex's mind almost immediately went to Eiryk when chocolate was mentioned. Pak didn't honestly know if Eiryk liked chocolate or not, but she trusted Alexander would. As they made their way to their destination Pak turned the idea of honey and chocolate over in her head. It didn't sound appealing at all and she wrinkled her nose.

"That doesn't sound like the best idea ever, but if any one can work it, it would be Eiryk. I suppose it would depend on the honey and the chocolate"

She just couldn't even imagine it, but then Pak didn't consider herself creative or artistic. She had no idea how to combine flavors and she hadn't spent a few centuries trying to perfect the art. When you thought about it that way Pak wondered if the Viking had tried it before.

"No white chocolate though, that's cheating."

Aishe was glad to know her little detour for chocolate wasn't going to be frowned upon; it rarely was. Her friends seemed to understand her enjoyment of it. It was definitely her drug of choice and she figured with all the other addictions available to her on this planet, she was doing all right with chocolate. Truth be told, she didn't eat as much of it as it probably appeared... it was just her favorite flavor so if there was any dessert to be had, she would pick chocolate over anything else any day. As far as being a vampire went, she was still amused over the fact that she simply didn't need to eat anymore. Feeding did not bother her a bit, not here in the city where it was so easily managed. She imagined it must be more difficult in smaller populations or rural areas where there were no outrageous clubs and low crime rates. A drink every other night and she was happy enough to nibble on chocolate.

She linked her arm through Alexander's, and then grabbed Pak's hand with her other one. They made their way off to the Lindt store amidst chatter and some giggling, and Aishe did manage to find something to try on - a Lindt t-shirt. She did not force Pak to try it on, however. She did buy one for herself.

Afterward they managed to get out of the mall unmolested and fully clothed, which for tonight, was a huge success. They piled their bags into the back of Aishe's Rabbit and then they all hopped in together for the short ride back to Liefde. As Aishe drove home afterward she couldn't help smiling; never in her life could she have imagined enjoying Nachton so much. She couldn't wait for their beach party... and she couldn't wait for what happened after, too!
