It's All Business (attn: Evan)

Kiyo was damn near floating by the time he and Evan reached the arcade. He was full of sushi and steak, a decent beer, and he'd walked the whole way from the restaurant to the arcade with his hand tucked in Evalyn's or his arm around her waist. There had even been a kiss or three in there. The night was already incredible. That there was more to come made him deliriously happy.

They wandered through the arcade noting the location of all the games. The arcade was fairly crowded but not annoyingly so. There were employees everywhere, carrying food and drinks and supplying players with change.

"Not as good as Terminus," Kiyo said softly into Evalyn's ear. It wasn't... it was a darn good arcade but Terminus was more than an arcade.

"Oh look," he said, pointing as he spotted a row of skeeball games. "Can we? What else do you want to play?"

He kept his fingers twined with Evalyn's, enjoying the touch. It was hard to conceal the expression of happiness on is face. With every moment spent in each other's company Kiyo grew a tiny bit more confident. Sure, they hadn't had a lot of time yet but so far Evan was doing wonders for Kiyo's self image. He just wanted to cling to the vampire forever.

Evalyn looked around the arcade with a manager's eye, noting how the games were sorted, how far the away the dining area was away from the games, what music was playing, what age demographic was here, etc... Of course, those things were little side notes that were taken in almost without realizing that she was doing it. Most of her attention was focused on the hand that was held in her own. She swung their clasped hands gently back and forth as they paused to decide where to go.

Kiyo whispered to her and she grinned. "Your company loyalty is endearing. Remind me to tell your boss." She leaned forward and nuzzled his cheek with her nose. "Maybe he'll be so grateful that he'll give you a bonus." Evalyn could think of several very personal 'expressions of appreciation' that she would enjoy giving Kiyoshi later.

The rows of skee ball machines were not far from the entrance and Kiyo found them without difficulty. He asked about them and she nodded. "Of course we can." After all how else would they manage to play with balls in public? That had been the implied goal at the sushi place.

First they needed coins. Evalyn turned in a circle and found the token machines on either side of the entrance that they had just come through. She put in a ten and was rewarded with a cheerful metallic jingling as the arcade's currency spilled into the bowl shaped container. Evalyn transferred them to an actual bowl and then took up Kiyo's hand again, tugging him toward the skee ball lanes.

Setting the tokens on the railing between their two lanes, she regarded him with a cheerful grin.

"Shall we make a friendly wager? Nothing too serious." Tilting her head back she stared at the black lit ceiling thoughtfully. "How about whoever loses must pay for the next date and decide where we go?" That shouldn't be terrible, both of them were gainfully employed and the paying person was getting to decide what they were going to do so it could be anything from a picnic to a trip to Italy... or maybe just Anthony's Little Italy Pizzeria down on fifth.

"I love my company," Kiyo said to Evan with complete honesty. "For a number of reasons."

He had every reason, he felt to appreciate Terminus, many of which did not include the fact that he was currently being loved into a stupor by one of the owners every night. No, he thought, that was great, but he loved Terminus because of the atmosphere, because of all of the people there, and because Evan and Guillaume had taken him on knowing he had a handicap and willing to work with him anyway. They paid him fairly, a gift Kiyo had learned not to take for granted, and treated all of their employees generously and respectfully.

"He doesn't need to be grateful," he murmured into Evan's ear. "I owe him more than I could ever repay." He leaned into the affectionate little caress, his heart doing a tiny flip-flop of delight.

Kiyoshi followed Evan toward the token machine. When his partner put a ten into it he did the same, adding his coins to the bowl that held them all. He did not doubt their ability to cut through twenty dollars in tokens pretty easily. It was just fine with him, having fun was the point tonight.

He liked being tugged along by the curvaceous little blond in front of him, especially knowing who was beneath the disguise. Illusion. Whatever it was. When they reached the skee ball ramps and Evan posed his wager Kiyo looked at him and smiled, admiring the thoughtful yet playful expression on Evalyn's face.
"Okay," he said. "Let's give it a try."

He wondered if Evan was just doing it because he knew he would win. It was the sort of generous thing his partner would attempt. Kiyo, however, wanted to pay for some of the things they did too. So he would put his best foot forward and do his best to engage what small amount of competitive spirit he had.

He put two tokens into the slot and waited for Evan to do the same. When the balls rolled down the chute he picked one up and felt it for weight. His keen senses were only of marginal help here. He could see little variances in the ramp. He could detect the angle of it and he knew how he needed to roll the ball, but all the senses in the universe could not give him the appropriate sort of hand eye coordination. His skill at juggling helped; he knew how hard he could throw and he had practiced precision for years but this action was completely different from anything he did on a regular basis.

"Well here goes," he said uncertainly. Rolling the ball up the ramp he smiled with satisfaction as it hit the 30 point basket and went in neatly. Not a huge accomplishment, but it hadn't been the lowest point bracket. With a little practice he might improve in the next few games.

"You don't owe him anything." There was not anything that Evalyn had given Kiyo that he wasn't happy to give. He would have given him space to crash one way or the other. Kiyo was a part of their little Terminus community. She believed in everyone supporting each other. If she had it to spare and one of her people needed it then it was theirs.

Truth be told, being a vampire was a little more lonely than Evalyn had realized when she had made the choice. Being a part of a group of people, coming and going, sharing and enjoying each other's company was something that she soon began to miss. In a way Terminus gave that back to her.

When they got to the machines, Kiyo accepted the friendly wager. "Good. That should be fun."

Evalyn plunked two tokens down into the slot and listened to the balls roll down the shoot. She watched them come to a halt with a wooden clack. Picking up her first ball, she listened to it as she watched Kiyoshi make his first throw and land his ball solidly into one of the rings.

The little sphere was nestled in both hands, she turned to Kiyo and said conversationally. "Did you know this ball here once escaped the building?" Evalyn looked down at it. "They were all being washed in the back, somewhere near one of the doors. The employee doing the washing was 'taking a little break' to talk to his girlfriend on the phone. Another employee came up and caught him not doing his job. It startled him so bad that he jumped and fell on some of the balls. That sent a half dozen of them rolling in different directions. This little adventurer here went straight for the half opened back door. He made it too, rolled right out into the sunlight. He took a little rest there to admire the view." Evalyn pressed the ball to her chest and leaned over to whisper to Kiyo

"He hit a rock and it stopped his rolling."

She held the ball up again. "The other employee saw where he went though and came outside to retrieve him but for a few moments he had escaped and went on a grand adventure."

Evalyn held the ball up in her hands and then pulled back and released it onto the ramp. "Fly! Be Free!" She encouraged it as it rolled up toward the rings. It was not as free as she would have liked and landed in the twenty slot.

Turning back to Kiyo, she shrugged. "Perhaps he was still tired from the trip."

Kiyoshi's lips narrowed into a stubborn line but he kept his mouth shut. He owed Evan everything. He was a poor excuse for a lover... a werewolf who hated being a werewolf, who was afraid of everything up to and including his own shadow. But Evan wouldn't like hearing it so Kiyo simply felt his resolve settle over him like a blanket. He would be his very best for Evan. It might not be as good as someone else's very best but he would work hard.

"Fun," Kiyo agreed with a smile as they reached the machines. He had to remember to have fun, not to get too caught up in trying to be the very best vampire-loving werewolf in the universe. It was pretty easy with Evan, though... something about his partner set him at ease without him even thinking about it.

"What?"

Kiyo turned, disbelieving, as Evan asked him a question after Kiyo had tossed his first ball. He realized it was rhetorical as Evan continued to speak. Kiyo felt his eyes growing wide. Was Evan serious? It was hard to tell.

This was one of the things he so loved about Evan though. Whether the story was real or fantastic Kiyo was caught up in it. Not in a million years could he think of something so whimsical. He looked down at the remainder of his ammunition, forcing his jaw closed, and picked up another wooden ball.

He held it for a moment but nothing came to him. Kiyo frowed and shook the ball gently. Then he rolled it over in his hands, tossed it back and forth a time or two, and sighed.

Finally he thrust it gently toward Evan.

"What about this one?"

He watched the small girl next to him with hopeful eyes. Evan had once told him when he looked for things to carve they seemed to have stories in them. Kiyo hadn't realized Evan meant real stories, that could be told and understood. He'd thought it just a way of explaining his selection process.

"Does it have a story?"

He didn't care how Evan came up with it. It was amazing to Kiyo.
"I feel bad throwing them now," he said, nervously eying his remaining game pieces as they sat in their chute. Were they looking back at him? Did they see anything worth noting?

He reached out and brushed his fingers over one gently and then pulled away, watching Evan again.

Evalyn watched Kiyoshi as he examined the ball in his hands, knowing what was going to come next. Sure enough, the ball was thrust in her direction after it yielded no secrets. She smirked at him as she accepted it. "I had not expected to be able to play with your balls so soon..."

Running her hand over the smooth wood, she listened to it tell its tales. Evalyn raised her head, lovingly fingering the ball in her hand before she began.

"This ball and some of the others used to belong to the old arcade that was on the boardwalk. The owner loved that place and opened it for his son." Evalyn could not tell from the ball the beginning of the story but she knew it from living here and meeting the man in person. "His younger son had died of an illness shortly after he was born and the mother did not live but a few years after that. The young boy seemed lonely so the father turned one of his properties into an fairground so that his son could go there and have other children around him whenever he wanted. It was a nice gesture but one his son did not understand. He never loved the boardwalk like his father did. When the man became old and his son took over his companies the fairground was sold. The old man packed up these balls himself." Evalyn raised up the one in her hand. "He drove them down here and gave them to the owner of this arcade because he wanted them to be played with and not discarded." She rolled the ball over and angled it toward the light. "See, you can just make out the faint NB that was once burned lightly into the wood."

Smiling at Kiyoshi, she said. "I wouldn't feel bad for throwing them. It gives them purpose and its a good one. They make people happy."

She picked up another of her balls and threw it before it start talking to her. Perhaps she had thrown it too quickly because it bounced all over the rings and landed in the ten slot.

"Ah, fail." Evalyn picked up the next ball and let it talk.
Kiyoshi Salinas 12 years ago
Evan's innuendo nearly made Kiyoshi blush again but for once he held onto some sort of control. "You can do that whenever you want," he mumbled with a little smile.

As Evalyn's voice told him another skee-ball story Kiyo listened with fascination again. He looked at he ball when the story ended.
"That's sad," he said. He took the ball back and held it for a moment. "I guess everyone needs a purpose, even skee-balls."

He turned it over and saw the light 'NB' that Evan had pointed out.
"That's really cool."

He still didn't know if Evan was simply making up stories or if there was more to it. It seemed like there was more.
"How did you know all of that?"

The story had just seemed too real. He'd asked Evan before if he could read minds and Evan had said no. Besides, a wooden ball didn't have a mind, did it. So then... did he just see what the ball saw?

Kiyo would love to do things like that. Instead, he got a first-hand opportunity to experience the smells and sights of the city up close and personal whether he wanted to or not. He wondered idly if humans had any idea how much raw sewage they generated. Maybe it was best not to ponder that.

"Okay," he said. "Happy, coming up." He smiled and rolled the ball up the ramp, as Evan did.

Then he laughed as his own ball seemed to echo Evan's, bouncing off the 30 ring he'd hit previously and toppling over to slide into the 10 pocket.
"I'm not sure it counts as a fail if we're tied," he said.

Technically he was still a few points up but he was pretty sure that was going to change. Keeping up with Evan he pulled another ball from the chute and focused harder on his aim this time. Carefully he rolled the ball, beaming in satisfaction as it popped itself neatly into the 40 point basket.

He supposed if he were really trying to win he should try and hit the 50 but he didn't feel that confident. He was happy he'd gotten one into the 40 point slot. He thought he could do that again. Although it wouldn't be bad to lose this game; he wouldn't mind paying for their next date. He was thrilled that there would be a next date at all.

Kiyo tried to think of where he'd want to take Evan but he failed. He still didn't know what was around the city. If he did lose he'd have to go online and do some research. He wanted to find something fun for them. Thanks to Evan, though, he now had a laptop he could use for that purpose. He was pretty sure it was paid for... and then some. He was perfectly happy to continue paying, however. He figured maybe it was an installment plan or something.

Evalyn raised her eyebrows at Kiyoshi's offer to let her play with his balls whenever she liked. She made a step toward him with one hand stretched out as if to take advantage of such an offer immediately, stopping short before actually touching him. She smiled and murmured "Good to know." before stepping back once more.

Looking down at the wooden sphere that they had been discussing, Evalyn tilted her head and smiled. "It is one of my own little talents. You know, I keep coming in contact with balls when I am around you...I wonder if it is a sign." The first time they had met outside of work they had ended up in a volley ball game. "I hear some of the memorable bits of the past from every object I touch."

She looked back and Kiyo and smiled ruefully. "It makes cleaning up the club very interesting after work...let me tell you." Some things left behind in a nightclub had interesting tales to tell. They were not all good but very few were dull.

Kiyoshi made his roll and the ball joined his companion in the ten slot. When her partner claimed they were tied she narrowed her eyes suspiciously. "You're ahead. You can't fool me. Trying to lull me into a false sense of security. I see how you are. Well I am on to you, Pal." Evalyn smiled at Kiyoshi, putting lie to all her words.

Looking at the ramp, she concentrated on where she wanted her ball to go and aimed carefully. It was better than last time but not quite what Evalyn had hoped for. The ball had landed in the thirty slot.

"I suppose I should start thinking up ideas now and save myself some trouble."
Kiyoshi Salinas 12 years ago
Kiyo's eyes grew wide when Evalyn came at him with her hand outstretched but to his shock he didn't flinch away like his brain as trying to tell him to. In fact, just the opposite happened and he swayed toward his partner before catching himself. This time his face did grow red, as he realized he really was a complete slut where Evan was concerned. He didn't care where they were in that moment, he'd just caught a glimpse of his lover in that sort of mood and his brain had shut off while all other sensations moved downward.

That sort of thing could really get him in trouble!

Clearing his throat Kiyo regained control of himself and listened to Evan's explanation of what was clearly a vampire thing.
"You mean you can't stop it from happening?" He asked. His brow furrowed. He wasn't sure if he wanted Evan touching anything of his, suddenly. He wasn't proud of himself; he didn't need Evan getting a firsthand look at the numerous ways in which he'd managed to embarrass himself over the years.

When Evan called him on his statement of being tied Kiyo held out his hands.
"I just meant for the round," he protested, but it was clear Evan was teasing him so he just sighed.

"Really," he said, "I'm totally not trying to lull you into a false sense of security."

He said it with a smile of his own as, looking straight at Evan, he tossed his next ball carelessly up the ramp without so much as even attempting to get it into a basket. There was a happy ringing noise and he turned, gaping, to see that he'd unintentionally rolled it right into the little 50 point basket, when he'd obviously meant for it to go into the 10-pointer.

"Fuck," he said, and then put his hand over his mouth. He glanced sideways at Evalyn and shrugged his shoulders helplessly.

"You could still win," he said, "and then I can pick the date. That might not be a good thing. We'll end up wandering lost around Nachton for four hours."

He grinned a little sheepishly. Kiyo knew the city was a grid... north-south, east-west, it all looked great on a map... but put him down in the midst of it and he would get turned around in a heartbeat. Oh he'd find his way out, but it might take him a bit.
Evan Talkingwater 12 years ago
"Not really. Well I suppose I could wear gloves. Tis the season and all that but they really aren't my style." Evalyn gave him a 'come on could you really see it' look with a tilted head and a raised eyebrow. "I can tune it out. You learn to do so over time. In the beginning...well..." She sat down on the edge of the ramp and shrugged.

Kiyoshi explained that he was not trying to lure her into a false sense of security and then made a haphazard throw up the ramp, not even watching the ball. Evalyn followed it and laughed when it went into the fifty point basket. His outburst made her laugh.

Standing back up, Evalyn wrapped her arms around him and pulled him close. "I think I am playing with a hustler." Her smile claimed she was merely teasing. Leaning up, Evalyn favored Kiyo with a tender kiss. "Its okay. I can take us to the Opera or something. Maybe a disturbingly chaotic foreign film that is a metaphor for creation or society today or something equally vague." Her hand slid down and squeezed his ass as she added. "And we can find other ways to entertain ourselves through it. I'm sure."

She stepped away and picked up her next ball. The story it told was not as interesting as the little escapee but it was not one of the Nachton Boardwalk balls either. Evalyn turned to Kiyo to finish her explanation.

"In the beginning it was more like faint whispers." She smiled and leaned down to brush her fingertips over the ramp railing. "This was made in Detroit. At first I would just know a little something extra and slowly, as I began to realize what was going on, it became louder and more complete. I had whole stories of things and then I heard to learn to tune them out. It was not so hard, just a mental shove to the background."

Stepping up to the ramp she rolled the ball straight down the middle. It hit the steep curve at the end and popped neatly into the fifty ring. "Ha!" Evalyn cheered for it and then turned to smile at Kiyo. "It is not nearly as impressive to do it while looking at the ramp but still it was better than the last throw."

Addressing his statement about their potential date should he have to pick it, she shrugged. "You can pick the date and I can get us there. No one said you had to be a tour guide as well. You're new to the city. Just google something you want to do and tell me where it is. We'll get there, no problem." Cause she had GPS on her phone, if nothing else. The Age of technology did provide some very useful things.

"Your turn." she smiled. "Just remember this could be your fate."

She stood up straight and clasped her hands in front of her to sing the beginning of Habanera from Carmen.

"L'amour est un oiseau rebelle
Que nul ne peut apprivoiser,
Et c'est bien in vain qu'on l'appelle
S'il lui convient de refuser. "

The impression was a passing fare job all things, such as a normally deeper voice, considered. She smiled sweetly at Kiyo and did a little curtsey. Not wanting to play too unfairly, she hushed to watch him throw.

Kiyoshi Salinas 12 years ago
Kiyo shook his head wonderingly at Evan, not really able to imagine tuning out the multitudinous voices he must hear all the time. "I guess," he said after a moment, "it's like why I have trouble in the city. There are so many smells it takes me a little while to figure out which ones to ignore and which ones mean something. That's why I get lost a lot. I'll figure it out eventually, when my 'filter' adjusts. It's like that, right?"

Kiyo wasn't a complete loss in cities, it was just somewhat disorienting at first with all the sights and sounds. Werewolves had keen senses to begin with; his were even sharper than average.

He was going to protest his hustler status when Evalyn stood pulled him close. Any protest Kiyo was about to voice was instantly silenced when he was embraced and then softly kissed. He shivered; he couldn't help it. His eyes drifted closed and he sighed soflty against the lips upon his own and then it was done and he wanted much, much more. Before he could even so much as wrinkle his nose at the other suggestions Evan made Kiyo was given an excellent reason to like them.

"Do tell," he said in a strangled voice as Evan's soft kiss and brief caress threatened to make his situation incredibly awkward. While Evalyn finished her description Kiyo reined in his raging hormones and managed to catch at least 85% of it although the remaining 15 was doing its best to drag his attention back to the grabby part.

He smiled when his opponent's ball also hit the 50 basket. Kiyo couldn't help it; competition just wasn't a huge part of his nature. He was glad Evan had scored.
"It was plenty impressive, given the fact that your arms are not as long tonight as they were this morning."

He wasn't sure he'd be able to do the same in a body that wasn't his own. Sure, he switched bodies on a regular basis but at least his two were pretty static. Huh. Irony.

As Evalyn demonstrated what he could look forward to Kiyoshi's imagination not just drifted but stampeded into the area of alternative entertainment. He was pretty sure his eyes might have glazed over as he considered a darkened balcony and a private booth or something. Surely they had those.

"Oh God," he said.

He rolled his ball into the ten point basket with no problem this time, turning to stare solemnly at Evalyn.
"Totally worth it," he said. "Sign me up."

Shameless, probably. In the back of his mind the phrase 'hard to get' flitted about and then got trampled under a writhing mass of screaming Kiyoshi-shaped Evan fans until it was a tiny little smear on his mental floor.
Evan Talkingwater 12 years ago
"Yes, I would imagine so. It has gotten stronger over the years. If it had started out this strong in the beginning then I would probably have gone a little nuts...or more nuts than I am now." Evalyn smiled along with the correction that added the possibility that she was crazy already.

She chuckled at his response to her suggestion of the opera or a really confusing foreign film and the personal entertainment that would go with it. The expression on his face and the soft sigh he had made when she kissed him made Evalyn wish they could rush home right now and do something a little more physical. She just didn't want him to think that sex was the only thing she wanted from him or that she only wanted to see him privately. It was bad enough that one of them had to be disguised while they were together.

Kiyo had kind words to say about her throw. She put one hand on her hip and pondered that thoughtfully. "You know that might be the problem. I am normally very good at throwing things. I have had the occasion to throw things while" Evalyn gestured down the front of herself. "but never while this short." The throwing underhanded and rolling it up a ramp was part of it. An overhand throw would likely be almost as easy as Evalyn as it would be as Evan. Despite the more delicate looks, the strength was the same.

Her companion's remark after her demonstration/threat was intriguing and it made her wonder just what he was thinking. Well it was obvious what part of the date he was thinking about but she wished she could see into his imagination and see what exactly he was picturing to make him so...expressive.

"We could also go see a good movie under the cover of the same darkness." It might keep the groping in check if they could manage to get caught up in the movie. Otherwise she was likely to torment Kiyoshi until he came right there in the theater and that would be awkward and messy. Hmm, if it came close to that she would just have to slip out of her seat and take him into her mouth and that would solve the messy and awkward part. Evalyn already knew that Kiyo could be quiet even as he came. It took encouragement to get him to make noise.

This new plan made her long for that private place to ravish her little wolf right now.

Evalyn watched Kiyo's ball slide into the ten slot and laughed. "Of course if you keep doing that then I win and you'll be deciding where we go."

She picked up her next ball and gave it a quick roll down the ramp. Evalyn winced as it rolled harder than she had intended, shooting up toward the top of the rings. She was seeing another 10 in her future, if she was lucky. Instead it managed to land in one of the two small rings with 100 labeled on them. Evalyn stared at it in astonishment for a moment before turning to Kiyo with a shrug.

"So... have any ideas for a good date?"

((OOC: We were both shocked and amazed by the 100 on the dice roller ))
Kiyoshi Salinas 12 years ago
"You're not nuts," Kiyoshi said, immediately defensive of Evan. But he knew his partner was not entirely serious so he conceded, "Or if you are it's in a good way."

He nodded solemnly at Evan's observation that he wasn't normally that short. Kiyo didn't take offense, considering Evalyn wasn't that much shorter than he was. It was a big change for Evan.

The continued discussion of things they could do in the darkness wasn't helping him tear his brain away from the physical side of things. Kiyo thought he would eventually settle down in that regard but he hadn't been loved like this in so long... maybe ever... that he would have been very content to stay at Evan's place and curl up in front of the TV. He wasn't sorry to be out, of course, but he couldn't do what he wanted to here.

Well either way, he figured, he loved spending time with Evan. The more he did, the harder it got to spend a night away from him. Even working together, although they were very careful not to act any differently than usual, Kiyo found himself drawn toward Evan, constantly aware of where he was in the bar. After they closed, when they went up to Evan's home, well... then things got even better. Kiyo closed his eyes for a moment, thinking about being held. Strong arms, long silken hair, gentle lips.

Well this train of thought wasn't helping thins any, either. Kiyoshi opened his eyes, feeling a faint blush over his cheek bones. He watched Evan roll his ball into the 100 point basket and gave a little hop of celebration.

"Nice one," he said. And then, "Uh, not unless I can steal one of yours. Suddenly, all I can think of is being in a dark room... and, um, you know."

He looked down, biting his lip, smiling almost shyly. It still surprised him to feel this way, so unashamed, so needy.
"Sorry," he mumbled, still smiling. "You just do that to me."

He picked up his next ball and aimed it carefully this time, intending for it to hit the 50 point basket. That was exactly where it went, and he nodded with satisfaction. He wasn't willing to risk dropping points by missing the 100. He was hoping if he could consistently hit 50 he would either eventually win out, or he'd at least not embarrass himself.

"I guess I do kind of want to dance with you some time," he said softly. "I don't know if I wanna do that in public though."

Kiyo was very shy about a lot of things. He danced when he spun poi, and in a way his flairtending was a dance of sorts. His favorite dancing he wouldn't do in public, but he sort of thought he might not mind showing Evan sometime. When they were alone.

That still left him short a good date idea, though, so he wracked his brain while he picked up his next skee ball, and tried to think of something fun for them to do.
Evan Talkingwater 12 years ago
"He no nuts...He crazy." Evalyn said quoting Short Round from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. At least she had never cut a bridge down with herself and her friends on it....though there had been some things done in the past that would have made Dr. Jones look sane. Evalyn would just not mention those right now.

Kiyo did not seem to mind her hundred roll though there was talk of borrowing. He explained exactly what he was distracted by and it seemed rather similar to the distraction she had been suffering from as well. She smiled as she listened to him apologize and shook her head. "I don't think that's a reason to be sorry. It makes me kind of happy really."

The roll Kiyo made was another respectable fifty and he further explained that he would like to dance with her sometime...though not in public. Evalyn lifted her eyebrows and asked. "Does this dancing involve nakedness? Because I can get behind nakedness." Getting behind the nakedness gave her a nice view of Kiyo's tight little ass; the front was nice too. Perhaps she should get behind the nakedness, in front of it and on top of it as well.

She looked down at the ball in her hand and then back at Kiyo. Evalyn rolled that ball up the ramp, watched it land, quickly picked up the next one and rolled it too, then the others until her turns were all taken up.

Picking up the bowl of coins, she tucked it behind a trash can so that it would not be free and easy pickings if left unattended. Artfully, she arranged a couple of napkins and an empty cup to further throw off would be thieves.

When she was done, Evalyn came to stand behind Kiyo and held him gently by the hips as she whispered up into his ear. The voice was Evan's own and it was barely above a whisper. "I think you had best roll the rest of those quickly." She pulled him snugly against her. "Because I intend to drag you some place dark and have my way with you."
Kiyoshi Salinas 12 years ago
Kiyoshi perked up visibly when Evan said he was happy. "Really?" It was important to him to make Evan happy. he didn't think he had very much to offer in any kind of relationship so if the things he said or did made his partner feel good Kiyo would say and do them more. He still worried that after two thousand years he couldn't bring anything new or intriguing to the table but he wanted to, so badly.

He shrugged his shoulders slightly at Evalyn.
"I want to dance with you, any way," he said. "Just, out in public, people will stare. Alone... well... I can get behind anything you want."

He did want to dance with Evan. In either form, Evalyn or Evan. Kiyo would admit, though, that he wanted to be held by his lover in his own unique and wonderful shape and that would draw attention that would make Kiyo feel awkward. Then, too, there was that whole 'nakedness' angle that made him feel very warm and tingly inside.

He watched Evan's actions with curiosity as he suddenly rolled his remaining ammo somewhat carelessly up the ramp. His brow furrowed as the bowl of coins was hidden beneath the guise of common garbage. What was Evan doing? Had Kiyo said something wrong? Was Evan upset that he worried about being stared at?

And then Evalyn was behind him, pressed up against him, and Evan's deep seductive voice was urging him, oh so softly, to finish his portion of the game. Because... Kiyo gasped softly and leaned back against the smaller form behind him. He shivered pleasantly.

Plucking his remaining wooden balls from the chute Kiyo rolled them in a blur of motion, hardly noticing the outcome. That done, he turned so he was facing his diminutive date, which was both a good thing and a bad thing. On the one hand he was nestled up against Evalyn quite comfortably. On the other, it was probably pretty damn obvious what result Evan's voice had had on him.

"I don't think you're going to have to drag," he murmured low under his breath. "Please take me somewhere, Evan. Anywhere."

His hands slid up to Evalyn's shoulders and he leaned down to kiss her softly, a little pleading whimper escaping his lips. Kiyo couldn't help it. This sensation was still too new to him to resist it. Evan wanted him, but not as an object. Evan's caring was evident in every touch and every word. Kiyo wasn't just someone to screw. He felt special, spoiled, and he wanted to keep that feeling going and return it if he could. He wasn't above begging, apparently. He'd kissed his pride goodbye a long time ago.

Kiyo told her that out in public people would stare at the two of them and Evalyn had to wonder why they might do that. She looked normal, Kiyo looked normal. Unless they danced really badly she was not sure why they would appear out of place. Unless Kiyoshi had meant dancing with 'you' as Evan and in that case there might be people staring. It wouldn't bother Evan any but Kiyo was more shy than he was.

Her date seemed to be agreeable to her plan because Evalyn watched as he rolled the remainder of his balls down then ramp and then quickly returned to her. Kiyo wrapped his arms around her and she held him close, noticing with satisfaction that someone else was feeling aroused. Illusions were good for many things and in this case they hid that state for her quite well.

Hands slid up to her shoulders and Kiyo leaned forward to kiss her gently. Evaylyn pulled him more tightly against her with his soft sound of need. His words seared themselves on her heart and brain. She wanted him now more than she had just a few moments before and she would not have thought that possible.

"I might have to drag...but perhaps only because I will be in a hurry." She grinned and took him by the hand to lead the way through the arcade. There were several types of options that Evalyn had in mind. The restroom would not be the most ideal for more reasons than just her illusion but it would serve if no better place presented itself.

Before that became necessary there was a narrow door set between two of the machines in the back of the section that contained the large older arcade games. It sported a sign that read 'employees only'. A quick twist of the knob proved that it was unlocked. It was quite probable that it stayed accessible most of the time despite the lock on the door. It was more convenient that way and who would be interested in what was in there when so many flashing lights and games abounded in the rooms outside?

She opened the door and pulled him inside.

************************************************************

The brief glance into the storage closest had revealed where the string was for the little light bulb mounted on the ceiling. Evan clicked it on, having dropped his illusion as soon as the door shut behind Kiyo.

It was a cramped space, now appearing even more so with his broader shoulders and taller frame. Evan pulled his partner up against him, wrapping one arm around Kiyo's waist while he took in their surroundings. It was four feet by four feet and the two sides contained rows of shelves from top to bottom. The back contained shelves around eye level for him and beneath that were stacked things like brooms, mops and buckets.

He reached down and pulled a piece of rope bit from the mop. Evan tied one end of it around the neck of the doorknob. Moving the mop and wedging it diagonally across the front of the door, he tied the other end of the rope snugly around the wooden handle.

"Hopefully if someone does come to get something they will tug on the door and when it doesn't open easily they will think that it is locked and go off to go find the key. That will give us warning and time to get out before they get back." If it worked as he hoped it would.

He slid his hands down Kiyo's sides and then around to cup his ass, pulling his lover closer still. "To answer your earlier statement, you always make me happy, Little Wolf. Just being with you makes me happy." Evan leaned down and gently bit Kiyo on the neck, moaning softly against the warm skin. Murmuring softly, he added. "And horny."

Kiyo was dismayed when Evan broke away but he let himself be led obediently away from the games. He didn't know where Evan was going and he wasn't sure if Evan even knew where Evan was going. It became obvious that they were improvising when they found themselves tucked into a tiny storage space full of buckets and mops and shelves...

...but suddenly Evan was Evan again and Kiyo felt immediately better. It wasn't that he didn't like the illusion. But now he wasn't the taller one anymore, and he admitted he kind of liked that. He could go back to being himself, just plain old Kiyo, instead of trying to act like the kind of guy who would have a cute date like Evalyn. He'd work it all out eventually, he knew. But having his own Evan, the real Evan, back with him, was breathtaking.

As Evan rigged the door Kiyo waited, short of breath, nervous with anticipation. When Evan turned to embrace him Kiyoshi immediately responded. Evan's arms went around him and his body simply molded itself to his partner's. He lifted his arms up and twined them around Evan's neck, already moving his hips restlessly against Evan's as his lover leaned down to gently bite his neck. Kiyo gasped and turned his head so that Evan could do whatever he liked. He wished, not for the first time, that Evan could bite him. He knew he wanted to, but it wasn't safe.

The thought was fleeting, however, as Evan mentioned his own mental state. Kiyo didn't need to be told; he could feel it. His hands gripped Evan's shoulders and he lifted himself up, wrapping his legs around Evan's waist and clinging with his knees to Evan's hips. Tilting his head further he reached over toward Evan's ear and treated himself to one or two naughty little bites before moving his mouth along the strong line of Evan's jaw, kissing softly.

"I want to be yours," he murmured softly. "Please. I don't want to wait."

He didn't care how Evan took him, or how long they stayed in this tiny closet. His mind was rapidly becoming overwhelmed with the sensation of being loved by Evan and there was nothing he'd rather change. Kiyo didn't think he'd ever given himself so fully to anyone before but he didn't hesitate. He pressed even closer to Evan, gasping softly with desire, amazed he could feel so much and wishing it would never end.

Evan found himself with entangled thoroughly by a werewolf and he was enjoying every second of it. Not for the first time, it made him think of how odd that sounded even in his own mind. He never expected, in all the years of working with the shifters, to end up here, in a supply closet, with a willing werewolf clinging to him. So often in the past he had to overcome overwhelming odds to get most of the wolves to talk first and claw later and even after he had proven that he did not mean to kill them, use them in some dark ritual, or kidnap their children from their beds in the middle of the night they still had a hard time trusting him. It was slowly getting easier though he suspected that he would undo all the good work he had done in the past if the werewolf community ever got wind of his relationship with Kiyo. There were so many good and valid reasons for the two of them to stop seeing each other.

He just couldn't do it.

Every time he gave those thoughts even the slightest serious consideration he would think of not seeing Kiyo again, not watching him smile, not hearing him laugh, not seeing him be excited over learning something new, even if it was just in a game, not having him in his bed... he ached with loss just thinking of it. Worse than his own pain though was the thought of what he would do to Kiyo, who suffered from a serious lack of loving relationships in his life. Could he honestly look Kiyoshi in the eyes and tell him that it would be better for them both if they never saw each other again? He couldn't bear to see the pain there or worse be the cause of it. Kiyo would probably humbly agree that it was for the best and thank him for their time together and that would just make him feel worse.

The train of thought made him hold Kiyo just a little tighter and his companion's own words which were exactly counter to what he had been just thinking about made him smile. He wanted Kiyo and he wanted Kiyo to be his and that was just how it was.

"Should I take you to the Lost and Found then so that I can claim you?" Evan imagined plopping the little werewolf down on the counter in front of some startled clerk. 'I found him wandering around the skee ball section looking lost. If he doesn't belong to anyone then I would like to have him.' Sure, that would work splendidly.

"Hmm, perhaps I can take you over there in a bit." Evan disentangled himself from Kiyo and then turned them both around. He pushed his partner lightly against the back of the closet in the one place blessedly free of broom handles. "I should look you overly thoroughly for any signs of previous ownership first. Just in case there is a reward for your return." He winked at Kiyo but his hands still found their way quickly under his companion's shirt after making short work of pulling the bottom of it loose from his pants.

Evan leaned forward again, ducking beneath the shelves, to capture Kiyo's mouth with his own while his hands roamed over his lover's chest. He kissed him deeply, his earlier thoughts of losing Kiyo sparking a passionate need to claim every inch of his companion. Evan's tongue brushed against his partner's mouth and he nibbled Kiyo's lower lip until he was granted access then he continued his exploration hungrily, pressing against Kiyo as much as he could in the confines of the closet.

Eventually he pulled back and murmured. "So far nothing..."

He gave his partner's body a long searching look, desire evident in his eyes before he returned his gaze back to Kiyoshi's. "I should be thorough though; don't you think?"

One of his hand snaked around Kiyo's back, pressing his lover's chest up against his own. The other hand moved lower and slipped beneath the waistband of his companion's jeans.

"Perhaps in here."

Kiyoshi pulled back from kissing his way along Evan's jaw and neck long enough to look at him with a smile. "But I'm not lost right now. You're here."

It seemed very simple logic to him. He knew he'd gotten attached rather quickly but how could he not, when Evan was so kind and gentle? There had never been anyone in his world like Evan. Kiyoshi didn't get the good-looking Prince; Kiyoshi generally got the evil warlock. Granted, from the perspective of his own kind Evan was probably the bad guy more often than not but those who knew him had another story and Kiyo was getting to know him very well.

Kiyo went willingly as Evan set him gently down and advanced on him, large hands sliding beneath his shirt and over Kiyo's skin which felt far too warm and far too sensitive to his partner's touch. He shivered and dropped his head back against the wall.

"There's a bigger reward for staying right here with me," he murmured, giving a soft moan of desire as Evan leaned down to kiss him again. Kiyo parted his lips beneath Evan's questing mouth, doing his best to draw him in with his tongue and his teeth while his fingers hooked themselves desperately into the pockets of Evan's cargo pants, gripping tight and pulling his lover close.

When Evan pulled away yet again Kiyo wanted to cry. No, he wanted to scream, don't be thorough! Just take me! Instead what came out was a strangled little whimper as Evan pulled him close once more and continued to slowly tease his way downward.

He pried his fingers off of Evan's pants and slid them up under the black shirt to play over the flexing muscles of his partner's back. Evan's skin was smooth over the ropy muscle beneath and Kiyo marveled at the way his broad shoulders and strong back felt beneath the werewolf's smaller hands. He could see Evan as a hunter and a warrior, no less than he was now, just different, just as beautiful. He was intimidating and warm and loving and frightening all at once and Kiyoshi could not get enough of him.

Kiyo glanced down between them briefly, trying to muster up something, anything intelligent to say. But the only thing that popped into his head and then came flying out of his mouth was,
"If they microchipped me, I don't think it's down there."

Inwardly he groaned while outwardly, he tilted his head back and closed his eyes, sighing at himself and at the situation, praying Evan would overlook his serious lack of flirtatious skill and have pity on him before he further embarrassed himself by losing control before they actually had sex. He was working on that. Really. If Evan could just stop being so damn hot...

He gripped Evan's shoulders from behind and pulled himself up on his toes for another kiss, and then maybe another... and another.

Evan silently agreed that there was definitely more reward to staying in the supply closet with Kiyo than going outside and turning his companion in to Lost and Found in the hopes of rightfully claiming him later. It was a silly little jest at best but he had started it so he should at least finish it out. Shortly both of them would be to the point of not talking at all. At least that was his hope.

Kiyo's words caused him to pause and give his partner a startled chuckle. Evan looked up at Kiyo, his fingers toying with the metal button of his lover's jeans. "So you don't want to continue?" Then he narrowed his eyes. "Or perhaps that makes it the perfect place to hide some identification." He deftly pushed the button free of its loop with his thumb and then drew the zipper slowly down, watching Kiyo's expression as his hand worked to remove his companion's clothing from his hips.

He found himself kissed and stopped what he was doing once more, this time to better focus on the feel of Kiyo's lips, the taste of him, the warmth and smell of him. Evan sighed softly between number three and number four; the sound was made up of equal parts contentment and desire. He was happy right now, in a cramped space with a shelf less than an inch above his head, so long as Kiyo was pressed against him, kissing him this way then he didn't want to be anywhere else.

Evan had grown so very fond of the werewolf so very quickly. It surprised him. He had liked Kiyo from that first day when he quietly came in and showed them what he could do. Since that time he found himself drawn to the bartender and was glad when Kiyoshi had shown up at his door, taking him up on the offer of a place to stay. There was something about him. He was stronger than he realized, dealing with so much hardship and pain and still keeping some small portion of child like hope that things could be better. His lover was so warm and trusting and Evan wanted to show him that his faith was placed in the right person. He wanted to protect Kiyo, love him and see him grow more confident in himself. Evan even wished he could help his partner become more comfortable with his other form but that was something he knew next to nothing about. He resolved to just be whatever Kiyo needed him to be, as much as he was able.

Eventually he pulled away and sank to his knees. Evan took hold of Kiyo's hips and pulled them close. He buried his face against his lover's tee shirt, sliding it up with his cheek until he found bare skin. Kissing his way inward, Evan finished peeling away Kiyo's clothing until he could take his partner's erection in his hand.

He made a show of peering first at one side of it and then the other before looking up at Kiyo. "Hmm, no permanent marker name placed on here either... We'll just have to fix that." Evan leaned down and rubbed his lips over the tip of his lover's cock. "Later." He murmured before parting his lips and taking Kiyo into his mouth. He sighed again, with the same mix of contentment and desire that he felt before as he began to suck and taste his lover with gentle patience.

Kiyo shook his head 'no' when Evan asked if he wanted to continue, then realized that was sending the wrong message entirely. "Don't... stop," he gasped softly.

There was, indeed, a pause as Evan momentarily focused on kissing Kiyo back. Kiyo moaned against Evan's lips, taking care to keep his voice very soft, melting against his taller lover with urgent rising need. The soft sigh he both felt and heard caused a rippled shiver to course down his spine.
"Oh," he breathed, as his heart pounded so loudly he thought the gamers outside might have heard it in spite of his efforts at silence.

Evan finally pulled away and knelt, his large gentle hands gripping Kiyo's narrow hips, pulling him close. The caress of his cheek against Kiyo's shirt, then against his skin, caused another powerful chill to wrack his body. What about him drew Evan to him? How could he possibly keep this warmth alive, grow it, nurture it? He was the luckiest person in the world. A few months ago he'd have said he had nothing at all going for him. He had no job, no friends, no real home. Now because of Evan he had a job. He had a place to go. He had this warmth, this blossoming warmth deep in his heart that was completely unfamiliar to him but so, so welcome and wanted.

Kiyo's shoulders slumped against the wall, his abs flexing as he supported himself while Evan pulled away his jeans and then the soft gray boxer-briefs beneath. His own eyes grew wide as his partner took him into his hand and softly, briefly, continued his previous joke.

"You can do whatever you want with it," Kiyo groaned. Inside, he wondered if Evan did want to mark him somehow. Kiyo found... he actually wouldn't mind it. If it would mean he was Evan's for real and for as long as he could be, he would do it. If that would make Evan happy, he would do it.

"Ahh," was the only sound that came out as Evan's warm mouth enclosed him. "Oh, no," was next, the sound uttered in disbelief as Kiyo realized there was no possible way he would last long at all. He clamped his mouth shut and whimpered softly while his hands dropped to Evan's head, brushing gently through his hair.

Why was Evan doing this for him? What possible pleasure could it give him? Kiyo shivered again at the sensation of warmth, the pleasant suction quickly threatening to undo him. Kiyo had never really experienced this, until Evan. He'd been required to perform it before, but rarely was it reciprocated. That Evan seemed to take pleasure in pleasuring Kiyo just as much as being pleasured by him floored him.

He pressed his back up to the wall as his knees threatened to give out on him.
"Evan," he warned in a soft whisper, but no doubt Evan could feel what was about to happen. It happened with force; Kiyo's body tensed like a strung bow and then released as he came, smashing his head back against the wall accidentally. He didn't feel it; he was too busy biting back his cry of ecstasy as lights danced in front of his eyes for multiple reasons.
