Wolf Form (Werewolf - please read first):

Description (if an NPC) or name of your creator/gifter(if a PC) ( Please be as specific as possible, who your creator/gifter was, why he chose to change you, where is he/she now?): Amir Rashid, then a relatively young vampire (523), made a trip through Egypt about the time Amaret managed to escape her abusive home to the temple of the jackal-headed god. There, she was selected as a sacrifice. Although Amir's previous attempt to create his own offspring had turned out badly, he was eager to prove himself to his own creator and agreed to take Amaret, provided she spend the first three hundred years of her life with him, learning, as had been required of him.

Personal Questions

1. Describe your character's personality: Amaret is crafty, intelligent, very savvy, and quite observant. She enjoys working, enjoys knowing things, and will often poke her nose into affairs that aren't any of her business out of sheer curiosity. She is, however, able to do so without making a nuisance of herself as she has become adept at all manner of information-gathering skills. Amaret can be conniving and manipulative, generally when she wants to avoid conflicts. She will go to great lengths at times to keep safe those she cares for.

Amaret is warm and caring toward those she loves and considers her family. She is relatively insightful and understands those around her sometimes better than they understand themselves. She is often forgiving of flaws and patient when the person involved is someone with whom her affections are engaged although those people are few and far between owing to her tendency to disassociate herself
from social situations.

2. Describe how your character would appear to a stranger (I.E. typical dress, way they carry themselves etc.) Amaret appears to be a young woman in her early 20s. She carries herself with an unconscious grace, reminiscent of her cat form. She is very observant and will overtly take in everything around her without being subtle at all. Like a cat, she will occasionally fix someone with an unblinking stare, which can be unnerving at times. Amaret doesn't dress provocatively and doesn't like to draw attention to her body. She dresses well, but not for sexual appeal. She would likely come off as alluring and pretty but aloof and off-limits, distanced by her personality more than any other factor.

3.What does your character like? Games, tests of skill, climbing, music. Any hobby dealing with string work or knots such as needlepoint, cat's cradle, knitting, crocheting. She loves pass times that let her use her sense of balance to its fullest, like dancing. Growing up through many eras of arts and dance, Amaret learned them all. She can remember every dance she's ever done and knows something for every occasion whether formal or impromptu. In pursuing her own enjoyments, Amaret also learned the art of glass blowing and enjoys it still. Her designs tend to be very intricate and delicate, as cleverly constructed as a woman with the mind of a cat can do. Amaret also enjoys heights, and when climbing will strive to achieve the highest point possible.

4. Dislike? Men in general. Loud, crowded places, well-lit rooms. Amaret fears water and keeps herself well-groomed as a cat. She will bathe as necessary to stay clean but there is no other reason for her to get wet and she will avoid it. She doesn't like overpowering odors either, and will avoid men or women wearing too much cologne or perfume. Her experiences as a general sneak have taught her that cleanliness will help avoid unwanted notice but strong odors are not in her best interest there either. Amaret doesn't like being enclosed; she is not claustrophobic by any means, but if she had the choice she would choose an open area over a small tight space any time.

5. (For humans) Describe what abilities you see your character having if they were turned.

6. What are your fears? (please choose and explain 3 minimum)

-Amaret is afraid of men; not all men necessarily but of situations that put her into vulnerable positions with them. She doesn't like being alone with a strange man on the subway, for example, and will not get close to strangers. She will feed on them quite often, however, without regard for their state of health afterward.

-Amaret fears close relationships with anyone. If she doesn't let anyone in, they can't hurt her. Her few relationships have been with people she trusts explicitly, built up over hundreds of years. The relationship does not necessarily have to be a physical one. It's the emotional closeness she steers away from. Sex is all right with her, in a physical sense when her feelings are not involved, and she has often used her body in order to place herself in a position of strength or to get close to someone who would otherwise never trust her.

-Amaret fears conflict among those she loves as well. She was raised in an abusive environment, left wanting love and security. Those experiences have continued to shape her as a woman and as a vampire, and she doesn't like arguing. She had a great deal of difficulty learning with Subira, Amir's creator, who was a tough and unforgiving taskmistress. While most of Amir's children and Amir himself continued to learn directly from that woman, Amir removed Amaret from her and taught her himself, away from that situation which was always competitive and cutthroat. To this day Amaret will struggle to avoid arguments or be placed in a position to have to hurt someone she cares for.

7. What are your character's strengths and weaknesses? (please pick 3 minimum of each and explain in detail how and why this affects your character)

Intelligence: Amaret's skills in divining information are unmatched. She has learned to use all of her abilities and all of her senses to glean information. She has made a study of body language and can read most people fairly well without the use of any unnatural abilities, as long as they aren't accomplished liars. She is able to intuit proper responses based on how she perceives someone may react.

Double Agent: Like her creator, Amaret has learned how to juggle many balls at once. Her ability to gather, filter, and sort information has made it very easy for her to keep track of what she's told whom and who knows which facts. She has become a sneak of the topmost rank, able to withhold information and give it out as she sees fit.

Manipulative: Amaret is very good at using her understanding of peoples' personalities to come at them from an angle which will gain their trust and convince them that her desires are also theirs. It is not an ability to be used freely among her few friends; it is more a strength she reserves for carrying out tasks for the Clan, or for her own purposes. She doesn't hesitate to manipulate those she needs something from, especially if she sees it as a necessary thing to be done to help someone. Amaret's skill at gathering intelligence helps
her here; she is highly skilled at dropping just enough information, or holding the vital bits back, to enable her to coerce someone into moving in the direction she wants.

Softheartedness: Amaret's warmth and genuine caring for those she calls friends have led her to make some choices that have made things difficult for herself and her superiors in the past. She does not get along at all with Amir's creator and her ultimate "boss"Â? Subira, but she has been protected from that woman's temper by her own creator Amir. Situations can become very difficult when Amaret feels bad about the action she is directed to take.

Paranoia: Because Amaret is almost always gathering information or dropping hints, moving people about like pieces on a chessboard, she sees that trait in everyone else she meets. Her first instinct is to wonder what they want from her, and she doesn't think they might be interested in her for the sake of friendship. This compounds her fears of relationships by making it difficult for her to place trust in anyone. She trusts a few people, and her trust can certainly be earned, but it generally takes more time and effort than most
are willing to spend.

Shy: Amaret's avoidance of social situations can be seen as a terminal sort of shyness. She will spend nights on end as a cat, emerging only when necessary to speak or feed. Her first reaction in any new situation will be to shift forms. City life agrees with her in the sense that no one really pays attention to another stray, and she can move about unhindered in the streets and most of the buildings, but her cat form is a crutch that she relies upon very heavily and when caught in a confrontation she may not always know how to handle it
when her instincts mostly tell her to cut and run.

Hobbies & Skills (for more information, read here) Amaret has a great many esoteric skills dating back to her youth in Egypt; sewing, cooking, and weaving among them. Over the years she has been a hunter, a warrior, a spy, an assassin. She has been trained jointly by both Amir and Subira and is a very capable fighter. Spending a great deal of time with her creator meant she learned most of the martial arts forms that he did, and while not Amir's equal in hand-to-hand combat, Amaret is quite skilled and more then capable of defending herself in almost any situation. She can use firearms and handheld weapons as well. In addition, Amaret is intelligent and picked up many of the academics that Amir did. She enjoys history and literature most of all, however, over mathematics and sciences. Amaret's skills also include many stealth-related tasks. Breaking and entering, lockpicking, among them. She enjoys rock climbing, bouldering, and hiking.

Cosmetic Traits(Distinct, character defining physical attributes. These should be minor and offer no real power other than to make your character appear more interesting.) Her eyes are very pale gray, almost white, very striking considering her dark coloring.

Quirks and Habits worthy of mention - The "Amaret stare."Â? Amaret has a habit of fixing someone with an unblinking, catlike stare. It doesn't necessarily mean anything, and isn't particularly related to whether or not she is measuring, concentrating, etc.

Personal History 3rd person (1st is acceptable) but please be as detailed as possible, this can/will affect your rp with other players.

Amaret was born in Giza, Egypt, to two loving parents in a happy home. Raised with her brother, Mahematen, Amaret spent the first four years of her life sheltered and provided for. When she was four years old, however, her world was turned roughly upside down. Her father was accused of a murder after protecting her aunt from her abusive husband, and judged guilty almost immediately. Sentenced to living death, Amaret was told to resign herself to the fact that she would never see her father again. She did, though, peeking out of her small, curtained window at dawn to find her father and mother embracing on the front steps of their home. As Amaret move to draw the curtain away from the window and call out, her father lifted his head and she saw with widened eyes the stains of blood at the corners of his lips. Horrified, Amaret shut her mouth and ducked away, watching as her father released her mother and staggered to his feet, finally turning and running as the servants awoke and his crime was discovered.

Life was never the same for Amaret. She and Mahematen went to live with their newly-widowed aunt, and although they were of the nobility their family was tainted by the crime of murder. Amaret was forced to watch as their family's name was desecrated to remove all trace of her father's identity. She tried to tell her aunt, her friends, her brother, that he was still alive, what she had seen, what had happened on the front step of her house. No one believed her, though... or if they did, they hid it well lest they be suspected of association with evil gods. Amaret was considered unstable, shunned by friends and all of her extended family. The little girl grew up depressed and silent.

When she was ten, Amaret's aunt remarried. Her new husband was a man of very minor nobility, seeking status by marrying above him, even into a family as poorly regarded as Amaret's. Immediately it became clear that he was to be no better than the previous husband. When Amaret's aunt refused his brutal advances, he turned to young Amaret and easily overpowered her. At the young age of eleven Amaret bore her first child.

Life became intolerable for the girl. Not only did her aunt's husband take his pleasures upon her, but his eldest son as well. She bore several more children and suffered from many miscarriages due to their violent behavior. Her aunt tried to protect her, as did her brother, but they could only do so much. Even her aunt was left with little recourse. Their reputation had been so badly damaged that no one would take them in. In addition, Amaret had inherited her father's spirit-eyes, eyes that once had been hotly argued over as being touched by evil or touched by the gods. Since his "death"Â? however, most believed them evil. They had nowhere to go and their options were limited to becoming beggars or, in Amaret's and her aunt's case, prostitutes. Since their current status provided, at least, some measure of shelter and food, they remained where they were.

Amaret was eventually married to the eldest son, but that didn't stop the abuse by almost any of the males in their new "family."Â? The final straw came when her stepfather and husband finally succeeded in attracting Mahematen to their side, encouraging the young man to do the same to his sister and aunt as they did to them. It was more than Amaret could bear, and more than her aunt could take as well.

Her aunt took the easy way out; morning dawned upon her pale, still corpse and the tiny vial of poison still clutched in her hand. The suicide shook Mahematen to his senses and he came to Amaret full of apologies and remorse. He begged his sister not to take her own life and, instead, helped her away from her hell to seek sanctuary as a priestess in one of the city temples. Amaret was, however, pregnant again at the time and considered unfit and unclean to serve the gods. Instead she was to be offered for the gods' pleasure, a position that the priestesses claimed would either kill her or cleanse her. In a ritual she didn't understand, they bathed her and dressed her well, fed her, and then sent her down a passageway to meet the mysterious god.

Amaret, tired of life and without any fight left in her, went along with everything that was asked of her. She had no more choices. When she was at last locked into a small, dark room, she realized with terror that she wasn't alone. Someone was in there with her, someone who made a light and looked at her closely, too closely for comfort.

There, Amaret met Amir Rashid. She was too frightened to speak, face to face with this god who was a man. He spoke to her and his voice was soft, and seductive. But he didn't seem angry. He seemed curious. For the first time, a man asked her about herself, seeming genuinely interested. Amaret paid attention to him, listened to him in return, and finally asked him why he was so interested in her. The answer: he had seen her eyes before.

Instantly, Amaret was consumed with a need to know more. Amir had known her father, her beloved father, who had somehow become a monster and left them all alone thirteen years ago. At first Amir was reluctant to answer her but Amaret was relentless and desperate. Assuming she was to die anyway, she pressed until his story came out, much differently than Amaret had thought. Horrified and intrigued at the same time, she asked question after question until, impulsively, she begged Amir to do to her what he had done to her father. If nothing else, he could kill her swiftly and that would be a blessing as well. Her unborn child meant nothing to her; it was a drain on her fading energy and a reminder of her scarred past. After some consideration Amir agreed to take Amaret with him, under the condition that she spend three hundred years with him to learn his ways and work with him.

Amaret spent much longer than that with him. Amir became father, friend, and provider for her in her first decades as a young vampire. He was infinitely gentle with her, and in hindsight Amaret realized it was because the proud man bore a burden of guilt for, as he saw it, messing up his first attempt. He was bound and determined to prove to his own creator his worthiness and ability, and to that end he spent countless hours with Amaret. When her three hundred years ended she remained with him, his own tool, his pet, his first true child.
Amir was always fond of Amaret's softheartedness. What Subira saw as a weakness, Amir regarded as a personality trait that was not to be changed. He rarely argued with his creator but he would not allow her to torment Amaret. Over the years she grew to understand him better than anyone else, she believed. She watched him descend into the pits of intrigue and conspiracy, and she followed him down out of loyalty, out of love.

There is a great deal Amaret suspects and knows, but cannot say. She sees many things in Amir that aren't who he truly is and she feels like he has, perhaps, lost his way. But as he always supported her, so she supports him, becoming a friend and waiting for him to re-emerge from the mess he helped to create.

As she waited, Amaret watched and learned about the world around her. She eventually found her father and learned about him as well. And then she realized that to reveal herself to him would be to destroy him. She understood he believed her life would have been good, that her aunt would have provided for Amaret and Mahematen. How could she confront him with a story of rape, abuse, despair, and death? She stalked him, tracked him, learned his every move and followed his every story, but she became more and more convinced that she must hide from him always. She kept his whereabouts a secret from Amir as well, denying any knowledge. There were only two men who had ever held her affection, and she knew that revealing them to each other would set them against each other, with her caught in the middle. How to protect them both, conceal them both? Amaret didn't know. She walked a very fine line in that regard until she met, one day, her vampiric ancestor.

The oldest vampire Amaret had ever met, he told her all he knew and all he'd seen. Amaret began to meet him more frequently and finally began to work with him. She shared many of his beliefs, and she was surprised to find that he, too, felt that some of Subira's children (and Subira herself) had lost their way. This man, Subira's own creator, Amir's grandsire, now worked in silent and subtle ways to gently dissuade his brethren from destroying all they had achieved.
Unbeknownst to Amir, Amaret became his agent as well. She serves three purposes now; Amir's, her own, and her forefather's. Eventually, she knows, she will spread herself too thin.
