Description (if an NPC) or name of your creator/gifter (if a PC) ( Please be as specific as possible, who your creator/gifter was, why he chose to change you, where is he/she now?): Aaron Katsaros, Jesse’s grandfather, bestowed the Kadzait gift on Jesse when he was 13 years old. Aaron has since passed on.

Personal Characteristics

1. Describe your character's personality: Quiet, and almost spectral, Jesse never likes overt attention. Though his grandparents did what they could to give him a normal childhood, Jesse still grew up slightly insecure, and easily ‘spooked’. He prefers to watch activities from the sidelines, rather than participate, but will participate if required. Then he will do what he needs to, to fulfill his obligation, and do it to the best of his ability, and then quickly leave or retreat from any involvement. This ‘shyness’, that some refer to it as, kept Jesse from ever making many friends, as well as dating. Though his great looks drew the girls to him, his lack of interest in them soon caused them all to move along to someone who would give them the cherishment they sought.
While he is quiet and does remain aloof, Jesse is ready to smile when faced with pleasant thoughts and events. No one has ever accused the man of being dour or somber. More than anything else, he just appears to be ‘there’.

2. Describe how your character would appear to a stranger (I.E. typical dress, way they carry themselves etc.) Jesse dresses in the casual manner of most young men his age. Jeans, various types of shirts based on need…there is nothing about his demeanor that stands out, besides his good looks. He does emit an air of confidence, though tall, Jesse never slouches.

3.What does your character like? The night. Jesse has always been a night person, preferring to sleep in late during the morning, and have his play time in the evenings. When forced to fall back on less than legal means of taking care of himself, he also found the night to be safer for such dealings. His dinner meal is almost always his biggest as well, as he feeds his wolf to take him through to morning. And because he was raised with the evening meal being the most social, Jesse prefers to adhere to that practice when necessary. Hanging back in the shadows is much more difficult to do when the sun is shining.

4. Dislike? Being the center of attention, or having much attention of any kind placed on him. He doesn’t mind being acknowledged for good things, but prefers it to be a ‘one on one’ occurrence. Consequently he doesn’t like public speaking either, or anything else that forces all eyes on him.

6. What are your fears? (please choose and explain 3 minimum)
Loneliness - Though he prefers anonymity, he doesn’t like being lonely, and is afraid he might be forced to go through his years alone. Jesse is seeking a partner, someone he can talk to, when the rare need overcomes him, and someone he can share his life with. Having no real relationships with anyone other than his grandparents, he knows that a couple can be self sufficient and happy within themselves, and yearns to find the special kind of love his grandparents had.

Exposure - One reason Jesse has always held close to himself was for safety reasons. He knows in the big world he’s a minority, and one that could potentially always be in danger. He also fears if he does find his soul mate, that she might reject him for his wolf ways. After all, his father rejected his mother for that reason.

Rats - Forced to fend for himself after his grandparents died, Jesse was also forced to live on the streets for several stretches of months at a time, and had a few really gnarly run ins with rodents. Snakes and spiders don’t phase him, but the sight of one of those vermin can give him sleepless nights.

Dependency - Taking care of himself has become his way of life, and though he wants to find someone to share it with, he fears losing his faculties and becoming dependent on someone else to live.

7. What is your character's strengths and weaknesses? (please pick 3 minimum of each and explain in detail how and why this affects your character)
Being flexible, or adaptable is one of Jesse’s strengths. Learning how to change with circumstances became a way of life early on. Self preservation relies on the ability to deal with the unexpected, and over time Jesse just became better and better at it.

Blending into the background, or groups of people, is also something Jesse is very good at. Not being seen when he didn’t want to was just another trait that kept the young man from being detected, and possibly picked on, or singled out. Many a difficult situation was escaped by his being capable to almost disappear when necessary.

Jesse is terribly loyal to those few he lets into his life. To get into his life requires time, and loyalty on the other person's part as well, but once Jesse feels a person is worth associating with, and even befriending, he will be there for that person no matter what.

Curiosity is a terrible weakness Jesse has. In learning all he wants and needs to survive, he has found himself more often than not studying those around him. So fascinated can he become, that he loses all track of time, and danger. Pretty girls are notorious for bringing this out in him, though he tries his best not to put himself in a situation where that might happen. Fortunately for him, not just anyone will draw his interest, so the problem isn’t as bad as it could be.

Keeping to himself so much is also a weakness, and it causes problems when he wants to foster the possibility of a relationship. One sided conversations, and displays of interest don’t keep women coming back for more.

A further weakness is his lack of stamina, or energy early in the morning. Being a night person, it can take Jesse quite a while to get up and moving about in the mornings, and until he is fully awake, he can be almost useless.

Hobbies & Skills (for more information, read here) Jesse has developed keen skills with his hands in his need to survive on the street. He can remove a wallet from the most obvious of places on a person, and not be detected. He can remove items from display cases in stores, and not even be detected by hidden cameras. Jesse steals to live, but not for sport, or entertainment, nor wealth. He has decided it is because of his need that he has become so good at it, and is never sloppy or lazy.

Music is his one large passion, and has used it throughout his life to escape the horrors and drudgeries of his quest for survival. One thing he did steal for his own personal pleasure, and that was an Ipod that he treasures as the only real possession he always carries. He has also been known to go out of his way to attend concerts and musical events, finding delight in all such things.

Cosmetic Traits (Distinct, character defining physical attributes. These should be minor and offer no real power other than to make your character appear more interesting.) Long sooty black lashes that surround his pale eyes, are the only attributes that catch people attention, when he lets them.

Quirks and Habits worthy of mention - None

Personal History : Jesse’s parents, Medeia, and Jason, met only four months before Jesse was conceived. Their courtship was a whirlwind affair that Medeia fell into quickly. Having never been ’in love’ prior to Jason, no one could convince the young woman that his intentions appeared suspect. But Jason abandoned Medeia as soon as he found out she was a werewolf. Unknown to Medeia, Jason had already been making plans to leave, and had made arrangements to leave New York weeks later. The werewolf revelation only served as an easier out for him to use when he did leave. However, Medeia was already pregnant, and being only 18, she remained living with her parents, Aaron and Thea, until her son was born. Jason never returned or contacted anyone after his departure.

Seemingly destined to find himself wanting for love and affection, when Jesse was two years old, Medeia was attacked, raped, and killed by a local thug, who in turn was killed by the police three days later. Being an only child herself, and not knowing anything more about Jesse’s fraternal family, Medeia’s parents took on the challenge of raising the young boy.

While the elder couple adored Jesse, as they had their daughter, they were not young when they became parents again, and in fact Medeia had been born to them about the time they had decided they were never to have children. The grandparents did their best with the time they had with Jesse, and were fortunate enough to indoctrinate him into the Kadzait ways, but both died shortly thereafter of natural causes. Aaron died first only six weeks after he gifted Jesse, and Thea followed two months later.

Jesse managed to remain in his grandparents home for three years after they died, using the proceeds of their wills to support himself. However, not being overly wealthy, the money ran out when Jesse was about 16, and he was forced onto the street. It was then that his life truly began, and his foray into manhood started.

Afraid to approach members of his pack, several of whom his grandfather had told him about, and given Jesse details on how to contact, Jesse kept to himself for the next several years. Before he sought out his pack, Jesse wanted to learn all he could so he might have something to offer them, should they allow him to join them. The history of the Kadzait had been passed down by his grandfather, starting at an early age in the way of what Jesse thought were ‘fairytales’. As he grew older, and became better able to understand the ways so different from the majority of those who lived around him, Jesse’s instructions became more realistic. The focus on the purpose of the pack also instilled something in Jesse that he wanted to participate in. When he turned 21, Jesse felt it was time to find the Kadzait, and begin a new chapter in his life. This is what brought him to Nachton.
