So long fantasy

Thursday had come faster than Diane had anticipated and between work and hot wheels demolition derbies at home, she hadn't had that much time to put together an outfit for her night out with Bastian.

Thankfully, the Pack had wired the old asylum for security and productivity which meant internet access had been included. Online browsing and shopping had begun to slowly eat away at the few hours of sleep Diane was getting and it wasn't until Wednesday that she stumbled across Macy's site to store pick up options and the perfect dress. The last minute outfit would be available for pick up the next day no earlier than four pm for an extra fee. Next time she would definitely buy multiple outfits for different occasions to have on hand. Her closest consisted of normal every day clothes frankly because she never had a reason to dress up in what was over two years now. Shopping was now exciting.

Laying the dress bag across her bed she turned to quickly finish bundling up Joey. He squirmed as he tried to escape her diligent hands as they buttoned zipped and velcro'd. With a kiss and a hug she turned him loose and watched him run down the hallway to his own pack of toddlers. Waving to the chaperones of the trip Diane waited for them to disappear into the exits before she closed her door. She looked down at the garment bag and sighed.

"This better fit." she mumbled as she undressed.

Much to her surprise the black satin number fit like a dream and as she slipped the dark purple sweater over her shoulders she was happy that she hadn't bought a size larger.

Smoothing her hair down in place behind her ear she checked the mirror one last time. Satisfied with what she saw Diane headed out the door and into the large garage that held her BMW, opting for a classier ride than her muddy red Jeep. The ride into town was jittery; she was a bundle of nerves for no perfectly good reason at all. Diane knew that Bastian wasn't going to change his mind suddenly at dinner tonight and receive a fake phone call from a friend who desperately needs his help whisking him away forever. Besides if for some reason he did think better of their situation she was sure he'd have more tact than that, he would have to see her at work after all. She'd probably be a miserable pest in that instance, moody and mean.

"Stop thinking the worse damn it!" Diane chastised herself out loud.

Arriving at the upscale restaurant Diane handed the keys to the parking attendant and went inside.

In all reality if Bastian was going to change his mind at any given point of this evening, it would be when he came into the apartment she had kept her vampire captive in. If that place didn't scare him off then she was pretty sure not much else would. Not many people thought of kidnapping and imprisonment as a positive thing, at least not ones she knew, and seeing the actual place could possibly be the straw that broke the camel’s back. Figuratively speaking.

Settling into the chair the host had pulled out for her she looked around. Thankful to have shown up earlier than Bastian she quickly ordered a glass of wine. Her new slowly acquired taste for the old grape juice was mostly Bastian's fault as well. Rarely having drunk it before and usually only if had a catchy commercial for it on TV; she now yearned for it in hopes it could calm her down a bit before Bastian arrived.

He had the worst feeling ever, the hairs at the back of his neck where standing up, something was wrong, yet here he was, here they were.

After Panos had left the HoP Ale had wanted to leave too, a slight panicked look in her eyes after she read his note, they had taken her car, a midnight black BMW M5

They hadn't spoken much the whole ride to the address Panos has scribbled down on the piece of paper, her jaw was tense, showing that she was thinking hard, a determined look on her face.

As they pulled up at the address she took a deep breath and turned to him, taking hold of her hand he squeezed it gently.

"You ok?"

Giving him a smile she nodded, leaving the car he followed her out, looking around a shiver ran down his spine, yes something was seriously up.
Alexandra 15 years ago
She had been there, the whole time while Panos was talking to Delilah, she had heard every single word they had said, after she had returned to Louis and he had given her the note she had known right away something was seriously wrong, Panos was in trouble, big trouble and she had to help him one way or another.

They drove off together in her BMW, heading towards the address Panos had given Louis, she gripped onto the steering wheel so tight her knuckles turned white, realising this she relaxed her hands, her jaw tight she concentrated on the road ahead, storing every detail as she drove.

Stopping in front of the house Louis took her hand in his, squeezing it softly he gave her one of his "everything will be ok cause I'm here looks" she couldn't help but smile at him and nod, getting out of the car they walked towards the building.

Using her powers she scanned the inside.

"There are 3 people and a large animal inside, one of them is Panos the other is probably Delilah the other I can't place, no one I have ever met before"

Nodding his head showing her understood he walked up beside her, putting his hand on the door blending into the inviroment he stood there, barely noticable as he like Ale used his perception powers to read what was going on inside, looking over his shoulder he spoke softly.

"We should go inside, use your glamour and follow me"

Pushing against the door he felt it wasn't locked, pushing it open the both of them slipped inside, standing behind Panos, she noticed the large wolf sitting near by, her eyes widening slightly at the size of the animal.

"wtf..."

Being patient, but every ready to attack, Bastian watched as the vampire entered, along with a woman. At least Bastian surmised it was the vampire, since he couldn't imagine who else would be coming into the apartment, and knowing Diane as well.

Growling low, Bastian took a couple steps, making sure his presence was known. Then, oddly enough, more people arrived, and Bastian grew confused. Why had he thought the only other person who knew of the apartment, between Diane, and him, was the vampire. If the vampire lived there, it would be natural for him to have friends over. If he had them.

And were they all vampires? That was something Bastian would need to consider if the time came and he did find the need to attack. His recent training in martial arts would come in handy, and he had also put on a little weight, giving him an advantage there as well. But the whole vampire issue left him in the dark as far as how vulnerable they were. Sunlight, and beheading? Neither option appeared readily possible at the moment.
Diane 15 years ago
Her body was stiff as stone as Panos kicked the door closed behind him. He was holding the small woman she had warned previously in front of him. Using her as a meat shield.

Stupid girl almost deserves this. Diane had told her that night to stay away from Panos or as the blonde had called him Pauly. Why didn't she listen?

"Well hello Diane." his voice saying her named flooded her with rage.

When Panos became aware of Bastian and shifted the blonde between what he perceived as a large threat Diane nearly laugh out loud.

"What's the matter Panos? Afraid of a little fur?" she said mockingly.

Squaring her shoulders she took three steps towards him before she caught the scent of blood is her nose. Her eyes darted to the blonde and noted her cut arms and torn pant legs. The girl was a mess. Diane quickly retracted any thoughts of the girl deserving any of this and a wave of sympathy washed over her.

"That's her! That's the woman I was telling you about. That night at the strip club! It was her!" the tiny blonde hysterically cried out.

The sympathy instantly died out and Diane narrowed her eyes. The girl was a twit, Diane had been trying to save her life and now she was being thrown under the bus.

"I warned you and it's apparent you didn't listen. I was trying to help you." Diane said casually and her eyes went back to Panos's dark face.

Before anything else was said the door opened once again and a woman entered standing behind Panos. The womans eyes grew large at the sight of Bastian and she uttered a curse.

Diane's insides froze up. Who in the world was this? Was she another vampire? Panicing Dianes eyes flashed to Bastian. They were out numbered including the blonde who Diane could at least be some what certain was human. She after all was bleeding and being used at a shield.

At loss for word, she tried as hard as she could to flash her presence as a wolf at the newcommer in hopes to throw her more off kilter. It had worked on Panos all those months ago and she had shocked him enough to pull out her gun. This time instead of using her eyes alone she sent out an image of her long snout with sharp teeth that were barred and ready to attack.

Most of what she had found out she could do was defensive. How she wished she could get herself to shift right now and not be so frozen in place. The only thing she could think to do was scream. Drawing in a mighty lung full of air she released a shriek so loud she slapped her own hands over her ears to protect herself.

"GET OUT!"

(ooc : underlined for use of screetch howl)
Panos Mehalitsenos 15 years ago
Normally Panos was to hot headed and distracted to use his perception all that well. Tonight on the other hand he had enough of his wits about him to remember to use it when he heard the door being tested behind him. The familiar warmth of Alexandra hit him before she actually stepped inside. He wasn't surprised to sense Louis with her, simply because he doubted the man would resign to go home to watch TV and eat popcorn.

What did surprise him was the boldness of Diane's movements. Her steps towards him told of a certain fearlessness he wasn't accustom to seeing in human women. What had changed?

The giant wolf emitted a low growl and moved closer. Panos didn't like that.

How in the world did she get a wolf in here without being noticed? Especially one that large, he had never seen something that big in all his time on earth.

He calculated his options. A part of him wanted to shove Delilah into the beast and go after Diane and choke the smug look off her face. Diane had said she warned Delilah, tried to save her life that at least went along with what Delilah had said earlier. Maybe Delilah hadn't been lying, a part of him panged in regret for not believing her.

It was then that Diane screamed. His arms slipped off Delilah to cover his ears.

Christ all mighty that bitch had a set of lungs. She had done this before and caught him off guard.

"Not this time bitch!" He shouted.

Shoving Delilah as hard as he could he set her tiny body soaring halfway across the room into the bed. A sharp crack resounded as her arm snapped from the force of the fall into the frame. Lunging at Diane, Panos snarled and grabbed her at the base of her neck and shoulders knocking them to the ground.
Bastian 15 years ago
He was glad Diane had the presence to keep the vampire's attention. The girl he held couldn't be anything but human from the cuts and scratches she had. Bastian ruled her out as a threat quickly. The latter woman and man were another matter, but Bastian had to believe they knew nothing about Diane, and her issues with the vampire.

Watching he waited as well. He knew from what Diane had told him that the vampire was reckless. So he considered rushing both the vampire, and his woman, possibly shoving the two back into the latecomers. Unfortunately he considered too long, and the vampire took Bastian's options away.

The second the vampire dispatched the girl, Bastian was in flight. He also howled, hoping it might work as a distraction as well, but it was the force of his body he planned to use moreso.

His teeth sunk into the man's shirt, but the force of Bastian's weight pushed the man off Diane, and beneath Bastian. The vampire still had a hold on Diane, but Bastian took his right hand into his mouth, attempting to disengage the two. He would have loved to bite the wrist in two, but not knowing who the other two were, he chose not to. It was one thing to tackle someone who might have been their close friend, and another to dismember him.

Waiting for Diane to free herself, Bastian lounged atop the vampire, and growled at the two by the door. The poor girl on the bed had to be forgotten for now...she definitely was no threat to Diane, or Bastian.
Alexandra 15 years ago
Ok... wait recap, they had arrived at the house, they had gone inside, they had seen Panos, Delilah some woman and a wolf and then all hell broke loose, Ale blinked, next thing she new the woman was on the ground, Panos was on top of the woman and the wolf was trying to rip of his arm... what the fuck?

Looking over at Louis she noticed him looking as flabergasted as she felt, ok so ummm react?

Then the wolf growled at her, yes he growled at HER, nasty beast, baring her fangs she growled right back at the beast, teach him to growl at her... what did the mutt think she was some dog snack?

Ok this had gone way too far, signaling Louis with a slight nod, the both walked over calmly, looking down on the wolf her eyes turned pitch black, snarling at the beast she crouched down, she didn't touch it, just calmly stared at it, telling it to back off just by using body language, she didn't brake the stare, in her hundreds of years of being on this planet she had handled all kinds of animals many times, she wasn't afraid of them, nor would she back down from some kind of staring contest with a mutt.

Louis came up beside her, touching her shoulder lightly he let her know he was right next to her, she knew that Panos could handle himself, she didn't do anything to help him yet, but she would, the moment things got bloody she would attack.

He felt like laughing, the whole situation was just funny, looking over at Ale who for a moment looked like a fish standing with her mouth open, he noticed her signal, having worked together this long he knew right away what she meant, as she crouched down and snarled at the wolf he was standing by, just in case the beast tried anything.

He kept an eye on Panos, who was still on top of the woman, shifting his eyes to Delilah who looked hurt and was laying on the bed he threw her a sharp stare, telling her to stay put and not even think about interfering.

God what had he gotten himself into, wasn't this supposed to be a fun night out, grab something to eat, get drunk, maybe get laid? Damn... fucked up piece of mother fucking trouble they were in now.

Bastian 15 years ago
Bastian saw the third woman approach, and bare her fangs. It was of no surprise that the vampire had brought more of his kind, and it did nothing to Bastian's psyche to know there was more than one of them in the room right now. He had to assume the second man was probably a vampire as well, but at least he seemed to have the good graces to stay out of something that certainly was none of his business.

When the female vampire attempted to mind fuck Bastian, he wanted to laugh. She was tall for a woman, and being a vampire he guessed she was probably stronger than a mere human female, but Bastian wasn't frightened in the least. Why she thought that by staring at him he would back down, was why he wanted to laugh. Instead he ignored her, and returned his attention to the vampire male beneath him, and jerked the guy's arm to remind him of how things were. He would give the guy a few seconds longer to make the correct decision, and then he would bite into more than the clothing.
Panos Mehalitsenos 15 years ago
He heard the howl from behind him as he flew at Diane and quickly he used his coat of arms to give himself the added protection, but that didn't mean he wasn't shocked at the force that hit him. Tumbling to the side off of Diane, Panos's hands slipped from around her throat. He was barely able to manage a grasp onto her upper arm as he and the wolf slid across the floor.

The giant beast settled ontop of him and had it's jaw locked tightly around the wrist that still held onto Diane. The wolf growled at Alexandra and Panos drug his fingers into Diane's arm making her cry out sharply to get it's furry attention back in place.

The weight of the wolf was not what he had expected, it was heavier than it looked and he felt his ribs straining under the pressure to not snap. As the sharp teeth threatened to dig deeper Panos released Diane. He would be able to come back to her as soon as he dispatched the wolf. Panos doubted she'd go anywhere with out the guard dog.

With his free hand he swung for the beasts throat, delivering a blow to make it gag and release his other hand. Before it had time to recover he elbowed it in it's eye and scrambled to heave himself from under it.

"Don't let the redhead leave here alive." he barked out to Alexandra and Louis.

He prefered to be the one to snap her neck but as long as the deed was done he was fine with whomever finished her off.
Diane 15 years ago
Screaming at them hadn't really worked out the way she had wanted. Instead after only a brief pause Panos launched himself at her. The force of his body and the fact that she was wearing heels did no good for her either. They had toppled to the ground and before he had a real good grip on her throat a blur of red fur knock him off her.

Jerking her arm as hard as she could his vice like grip dug deep into the muscles of her arm and she yelped partly in pain and partly in anger. The others, now that she noticed the male, drew in close but they were mainly focused on Bastian and Panos. The second she was free of Panos slipping grip she scattered backwards and took her heels off.

"Don't let the redhead leave here alive." she heard him order the others.

Rage filled her as Panos began to assault Bastian and she grabbed the toe of one of her heels raising it high above her head she aimed the stilleto for Panos face. Slamming it down with all her might she narrowly missed his cheek and instead took a chunk from his shoulder.

"Kill that fucker!" she cursed at him sarcastically.

The smell of his blood made her stomach lurch and she quickly covered her mouth. Unable to get away fast enough Diane stumbled to the bed and she retched not far from where the petite blonde was cowering.

Dianes bones ached at the site of the girls blood smeared arms and her shoulders rippled. The girl was still alive. It had been days since she had run into her on the street but she was still alive today. Panos had tried to kill Diane one their first meeting, but this girl, she was still alive.

She meant something.

Leaping across the bed Diane snatched up the blonde by the arm that wasn't awkwardly hanging and pulled her close.

Standing she turned around to completely face the other two invaders.

The woman was dangerously low to the ground posied to attack Bastian, and the man, he stood by idly as if he was bored.

"Back off the wolf lady."

Diane didn't know who the girl held meaning for but it was worth a shot to use her as leverage. Noticing a lamp on the table whose cord was in reach, Diane ripped it from the wall with one hand and wrapped the electrical cord around the blondes throat.

"Move now I said!"
Alexandra 15 years ago
Ok THIS was too hysterical for words, the wolf looked at her as if she had just sprouted a second head, then all hell broke loose, Panos was yelling at her, the red head was yelling at her, slowly getting to her feet she looked over at Louis who had a look that clearly said "WTF"

Looking over at the red head and the blonde girl in her arms with an electrical cord wrapped around her neck, the smell of blood filled the room making her stomach twist, raising her hands slowly she made eye contact with the red headed woman.

"Look I don't know who you are, what this is about but excuse me? What the fuck?"

She felt Louis tensing behind her, licking her lips she took a deep breath, looking at the wolf, back at the woman, shifting over at Panos who by now was bleeding rather heavily from his shoulder.

"Listen, I don't give a flying fuck who you are, I just came here cause Panos over there jerking her head towards him asked me to come, well he wrote a note, but who gives a damn.. ok so why don't you drop miss blondie before she chockes, tell dog breath over there to back off the guy I'm fucking and we can have a drink?"

She heard Louis laugh softly behind her, well it was worth a shot, it was either that or getting nasty and damn she had just had her nails done.

Bastian 15 years ago
The blows, and resulting pain, didn't take Bastian by surprise. He was expecting the vampire to do worse actually, but what he had done did get him the results he wanted. Bastian had released him, and given him the opportunity to get out from under. But Bastian didn't move far, and was in fact still at the vampire's side, ready to tear into him again. Or for that matter, any of the other's who made a move toward Diane.

After seeing Diane go after the vampire with death on her mind, he realized that it might come down to just that if he and Diane were going to live. He couldn't risk anything happening to her, now that he had come to find her, and would give up his own life if that was what it would take. Baring his teeth he reminded the vampire of their close proximaty yet remained seated.

He felt a little silly when Diane began to defend him. Using the blond as bait was of no concern, but he really didn't feel at all threatened by the female friend of the vampire. He also took her language to not only represent the type of woman she was, but also as a dead giveaway that she was more afraid than she let on. Her causal 'laissez-faire' attitude also convinced him. Bastian didn't doubt the woman was strong, and that she could cause considerable damage, but she lacked the conviction Diane's vampire had. In any other given situation Bastian might have considered the woman much more deadly. For now he kept his focus on Panos, but a half eye on the woman. The man behind her appeared to be toally disinterested in anything going on around him.

At the woman's total disregard for the seriousness of the matter at hand, Bastian snarled again, and backed closer to Diane. The male vampire was still within striking distance, and he refused to give up that vantage point.
Panos Mehalitsenos 15 years ago
With the wolf finally off of him Panos quickly jumped back and reached for his shoulder where Diane had struck him. The wound was quickly knitting itself back together but it was surprisingly deep. She had to of swung pretty hard to nail him that good. For such a little thing Diane possessed some wicked strength.

At first Panos hadn't seen where Diane had skittered off to because the wolf had been in his way, but now with his back to the kitchen area he had full view of the small studio apartment and Diane's position with a hostage.

A small growl of his own rolled from his chest and he took a step forward without thinking. Silently Delilah's eye's bulged as Diane snapped the electrical cord tighter around her throat. Her bird like hands flew up combatively to disengage Diane’s grip unsuccessfully.

The pit of his stomach dropped out, a feeling that he wasn't used to, and for the first time in a very many selfish years he acted out of character.

"Let her go, Alexandra’s not near the dog. Delilah has nothing to do with this." His voice strained but he kept a very steady eye on Diane.

Had he never met Delilah at Babylon this situation would have been much easier. The wolf and Diane were outnumbered and he didn't doubt the hell Alexandra, Louis and he could reign down on the freakishly strong human and her pet. It would have been an easy and enjoyable kill for sure. Now Delilah, who happened to be the spitting image of the only woman he had ever really loved and as a result had been murdered, was slowly being choked to death by someone who he had tried to kill on two separate occasions. It was so ironic he could have laughed, but he didn't.

He had buried this shit for a reason.

Weakness now held them at a standstill. Well it held him at a standstill. Panos was pretty sure that both Louis and Alexandra were more confused than anything. The previous rage he felt had quickly flipped into a simmer fire as he grew more and more concerned for the safety of Delilah.
At this point Alexandra was trying to reason with Diane and all that he could think about was how to get Delilah out of her grasp.
Diane 15 years ago
Diane certainly wasn't fooled by the woman Panos had summoned or her good nature and false offer of friendship. If anything Diane knew that if she let the blonde go they'd be on her in a second.

On the other hand Panos's reaction to her hostage was what she had hoped for. He made a move towards them and she promptly tightened her hold on the cord. The girls small hands scratched a crossed her own and she could feel the small stings each nail left behind.

The coppery scent of all the blood, new and old, was making her nose tingle. A part of her wanted to vomit at the very smell of it all, but a much stronger part was excited. It gave her the strength to hold a cord around someone’s throat, an action she'd otherwise never think conceivable. Her bones continued to ache and she shook as she held back the feral part of her that wanted to be let out.

It figured that now and not earlier would she feel the desire to change. Slowly backing up to the window Diane used her free arm to knock out the window, her elbow sufficiently shattering the thin pane of glass.

Bottom line was they were outnumbered. What chance did they stand? They were unprepared and they didn’t know anything about their adversaries besides what she had assumed. They would have had a chance if they had been the aggressors not the other way around.

"I don't drink with murdering vampire fucks, certainly not ones who've tried to kill me numerous times. You want the girl, you can have her. I'm not scum like you."

With a massive shove and a good kick to her back, Diane sent Delilah flying towards to group of vampires. She saw the blur of bodies as no doubt Panos shot forward.

Was he coming for her or Delilah?

Not waiting around to find out Diane finally giving into herself and let the animal inside of her meld her skin into fur as she leapt for the window knowing Bastian would follow.
Bastian 15 years ago
Even with all the working out Bastian had been subjecting his body to, and even with all the progress he had made with his martial arts training, he knew the two of them didn't stand much of a chance. If push had come to shove he wouldn't have thrown the towel in, but the odds weren't totally in their favor.

The blond that Diane had a hold on was no concern, and the man behind the other woman seemed less than interested. Of course if the other woman was being threatened, the man could become aggressive, and would obviously need to be dealt with.

Between Diane and him Bastian considered they might stand a chance if they went after Panos, and the other woman, and began to plan a way to do just that. Diane, it seemed, had other ideas, and when the time came to go through the window after her, he knew she had chosen the wiser of the options.

He had already closed the distance between them, and was nearly at her side, so when she broke the window he knew where she was going with it, and was ready as well. It occurred to him that he was proud of the way she completed the change, and hoped to have the chance later to show her. He only wished she had broken out a bit more of the glass, because a jagged piece sliced through his shoulder when he jumped though.

Landing on the ground outside was simple, being they were in a ground floor unit, and Bastian fluidly fell into a fast run. Knowing they were safe, and that the others wouldn't catch up even if they had followed on his heels, he eventually caught up to Diane, and nudged her into a park nearby. The car was back at the apartment, and he didn't know if the others knew which one was hers. If there was a problem retrieving it tonight, he could easily come back tomorrow morning. But if they didn't know which one Diane drove, it would be silly to leave it behind.

Stopping in a more secluded section of the park he circled Diane a few times, debating as to whether he wanted to change then, or not. Communication between he and other wolves had never been easy, since he still thought in human words, yet had no way to convey them. Some things he could get across...general emotions like anger, and fear, as well as pain, and even happiness...but to get her opinion on what to do next, well there just wasn't an easy way for him.

In an irrational moment, Bastian sideled up to Diane, and rubbed his face against hers. He hadn't much time with her like this, since they had acknowledged their feelings for each other, and he found he liked it, a lot. He even licked her muzzle a few times, wanting to draw her attention to him, and off the events that came close to taking their lives just moments earlier. The scratch he had taken on the shoulder had bled, matting his fur, but had also already stopped, and was drying. Nothing to worry over.
Diane 15 years ago
Bolting down the street Diane heard the heavy fall of four paws behind her and knew that they had both made it out of the apartment. Not knowing if Panos would follow, and ultimately hoping that he wouldn't, she charged on ahead until Bastian nudged her in another direction. If anything he was thinking clearer than she was because he had directed them into a park. There was definitely more cover for the two of them inside the park than running down the street.

As the finally slowed down and came to a spot to rest Diane paced in a small circle panting. The smell of blood was still in the air and she couldn't figure out why. Had her hands been that bloody from the girl Panos had called Delilah? Was she bleeding from the window she had knocked out? She didn't remember feeling any pain when she did it but adrenaline would be the answer to that, why couldn't she place it? The panicked and frenzied thoughts were abruptly halted when she felt Bastian rub against her face. His soft tongue stroked her muzzle and brought her back down to earth. As a wave of calm settled over her she turned her head to rub alongside his neck. Once again she was assaulted with the scent of blood, only now she could see Bastian's matted fur. She licked his shoulder and whined.

When had that happened?

Thankfully as she cleaned his fur she didn't taste any fresh flowing blood and that settled her nerves slightly.

What did they do now? Did they continue on running as wolves or should they go back for her car? The group had made enough noise that the police had to be coming to the apartment soon, and in that case did she really want her car to be in the vicinity?

She knew the answer to that. The smart thing to do was to go get the vehicle. Besides who knew if Panos and his followers would check for cars that had been left behind? That could turn out to be even more of a mess.

With a heavy sigh Diane leaned into Bastian. There was a part of her that was perfectly content to stay just like this regardless of how poorly timed it was. If she felt comfortable around Bastian normally it was certainly amplified now in wolf form. Why did it have to be on the tail end of a nearly traumatic experience that they would be able to enjoy time together in their more furry forms?

With a small lick to Bastian's muzzle Diane stood up and circled him once to make sure he wasn't hurt anywhere else. Feeling sufficient that he was physically fine, she trotted back in the direction that they had come.

The run back was more cautious as she wasn't blindly running to save their lives. This time she kept an eye out for both the police and murders. Thankfully closing the distance to her car was uneventful. Quickly she disengaged a latch under the trunk of the car with her teeth. Hearing the trunk lid pop open she hopped up to grab a long sweater and dragged it out.

Near death experience or not, Diane was still shy about being naked publicly just yet. Once on the opposite side of the car as Bastian she quickly let her bones arch and snap back into her human self again.

"Fuck its cold! You stay over there for a minute mister." Wrapping the sweater around her she tied the belt at her waist. "Ok, so I don't have any guy clothes back there. What do you want to do?"

She fished a set of car keys out from the trunk and closed the lid. Walking to the driver side door she unlocked the vehicle and slid in. Leaning over she grabbed the handle to the passenger door and pushed it open in case Bastian decided to stay in his current form.

(ooc : Diane out pending response!)
Bastian 15 years ago
Her noises of concern confused him, but only for a few seconds. The way she circled him, appearing to be checking him over clued him in. She had smelled his blood, and was worried. Or at least that was what he imagined her to be thinking, and when she seemed to realize he was no longer bleeding, she began running back in the direction of where they had just came from. He could only hope her thoughts mirrored his and she was going back for the car.

Maybe verbal communications weren't necessary. He would wait and see.

Keeping up with Diane was easy, and Bastian also kept his eyes and ears open for any signs of danger. To be honest he hadn't thought of the police showing up, and wouldn't until later, but he would have been able to deal with something like that so it wasn't of importance. What WAS of importance was getting them both back somewhere safe until they had time to regroup, and catch their breath.

When they reached the car he was aware that she had put the car between them purposefully, and gave her the space she needed to change. The street and sidewalk around them were clear, and Bastian wasted no time shifting as well. He couldn't contain a chuckle when she told him to stay where he was. Seeing her naked was definitely on his lists of things to do, but even he preferred some place a lot more private for that event.

Unabashed at his own state of nudity, he stood and showed her he had shifted. At the moment though all she could see of him was from the waist up.

"It is, cold, I mean. Never fear, inside the car won't be nearly as bad, and you do have a heater."

Once she opened her door with the key, all the other doors automatically unlocked, which made her manually opening of his door unnecessary really. Looking into her car he noticed a small blue blanket with trucks around the satin ribbon that bound the edges, stuck almost all the way under the driver seat. Deciding to go the back seat route for now, alleviating any embarrassment Diane might feel otherwise, he pulled the blanket out and placed it over his lap.

"I'll thank Joseph later for the use of his blanket, but for now I think the first thing I should do is find some clothes. Whether you want to drive all the way back to my place, or stop someplace close where I can pick up some jeans and a shirt, is up to you. I'd rather not end the evening quite yet, if you don't mind."

He was tired, but a cup of coffee sounded pretty good, and he definitely thought they needed to discuss the events of the evening sooner, rather than later.

"Tell you what, why don't you go over to Afton Boulevard, down where the pool hall is?" He wasn't sure if she knew where that was, but Afton Boulevard was a pretty big street so the chance she knew where it was seemed strong.

"There is a diner there, and a clothing store, its a lot closer than running all the way back out to the ranch. I'm sure you can pick up something to wear there as well, if you don't want to go back to your place." Of course her place was closer to where they were now, but having a legitimate reason to buy her an outfit was always a go in Bastian's book.

Whatever they did, she was the one with the keys, and a foot on the gas pedal.

"You want the girl you can have her, I'm not scum like you." Diane spat before launching Delilah away from her.

Without a second thought Panos darted to catch Delilah before she fell and did more damage to herself. Even though his body was preoccupied, his eyes did not fail to see the blur of motion of woman becomming...something else. He stopped dead in his tracks as Delilah crumpled into his arms. Her surprized gasp told him he wasn't the only one who witnessed the bizare action.

Suddenly the weight in his arms went dead and he looked down to see that Delilah had fainted. No doubt unable to register everything that had just happened.

Looking over to Alexandra and Louis, Panos's eyes were wide.

"Please tell me you just saw that! What the fuck just happened?"
