Love Abounds at Ger Kogji

Fallon had reverted to chewing on her cuticles, and had her right index finger in her mouth at that precise moment. The invitations had been mailed, and in her mind everyone who was anyone...anyone she considered friends or family...had been invited. Now the night of the party was upon them, and it was just a matter of waiting to see if those who had 'RSVP'd' would actually show.

Of course a blanket invitation had been sent to her Anantya brothers and sisters. They had so warmly welcomed her into their fold that she felt it was time to try and repay that kindness. She was also excited about seeing them again, as it seemed a long time since her initiation, and she had wanted to talk more to those she had met, and meet those she hadn't.

There was room for several of Cyrus' business associates, but Fallon had no clue who they might be. All that part of the inviting had been done by Suki, she imagined. For her part, in addition to Anantya, she had included:

Ana
Aishe
Alec

Fallon laughed when she looked over the guest list and realized all her friends had 'A' names...not that she was 'that' friendly with Alec, and Ana's name really was Montana...but on the list it looked kind of funny. She was going to invite Tristan, but then found out he had moved back to California. Undoubtedly that was for the best, as he had really only been food for her. However she was just slightly disappointed that Bob was still away on business. She hadn't gotten terribly close to her old neighbor, but close enough that she thought it would have been nice to see him again.

Suki had asked that a
'Wesley' be added, and Fallon was rather intrigued by that request. Maybe all her talk of dating had finally captured her friend's attention, and she looked forward to meeting the mystery man.

Of course everyone invited was urged to bring a guest, and in addition to Wesley, Fallon had to wonder if Aishe's lack of contact might have been a result of a man as well. It had been so long since the two woman had spoken, but Fallon hoped her friend had been able to resolve things with her man.

As Fallon assembled the place cards around the large table, she placed each person and their guest next to each other, but tried to also place them next to someone they might not know. Clans people she tried to spread out, since they were the largest in number, and then Ana, Aishe, Alec, and Wesley she placed among them. Standing back a bit, she gazed at the scrumptiously decorated table, and how it fit so well in the very colorful tropical setting her home had become.

The flowers had been delivered, and were being set up now, filling the house with that color and wondrous smells. Fortunately the scents weren't terribly strong...more like just a hint of something wafting on the air, which she attributed to the fantastic air system Cyrus had built into the house. Temperature, humidity, all these things could be controlled by a touch pad that still had Fallon a bit intimidated, but that did exactly what it was reported to do...keep the atmosphere in Ger Kogji fresh, and clean, and very comfortable. Even when there might be snow outside, inside Ger Kogji would be a place of tropical delight.

Her theme was something else Fallon couldn't have been happier in her choosing. Ger Kogji already had a slightly island feel with all the plants, flowers, fountains, and bamboo, but thankfully the other leathers and woods and and silks and glass stopped it from being too overpowering. There was a nice harmony throughout the home that suited Fallon, Cyrus, and Suki too, to a 'T'. She hoped that same feeling spilled onto their guests tonight.

Snapping out of her party daze, it occurred to her she really needed to start getting ready, and make sure Cyrus was as well. Though she hadn't seen Suki all day, she never worried about her housemate. If anyone had everything on the ball, Suki was it.

Dashing into their suite, Fallon began looking for Cyrus, while heading for her closet.

HOUSE FLOOR PLAN

Sorin 17 years ago
Smiling at Fallon, Sorin was pleased by her greeting. It would seem that proper respect and social skills were still occasionally taught to the young generation. She was probably wasted on a member of the Hunt who, by and large, tended to not notice such talents or think them particularly useful. He hoped for her sake that she could also gut fish, sharpen weapons and trudge about on long walks in the wilderness.

"Nonsense, we are all family and this is a special occasion worth celebrating."Â?

Sorin narrowed his eyes at Mai and then chose to ignore her. It was just as well; the little witch turned to leave without bothering to wait for his reply.

Cyrus spoke to him when the Elder of the Hunt passed out of sight. His mention of Fallon's friendly greetings suggested that the Huntsman did at least acknowledge that his companion had grace and poise. He smiled.

"You'd best guard her well, Huntsman, that one would be seen as quite the prize to while away the centuries with."Â?

Not that he could stand spending year after year with the same person but it seemed some of their kind enjoyed such a rut. The adornment handed out to him was one of the better looking leis in his opinion, not overly colourful or flowery. Quirking an eyebrow, he smirked.

"When in Rome..."Â?

Amused at his own joke, Sorin accepted the necklace and draped it around his neck. He nodded his appreciation for both the gift and the directions and chose to head towards a room that did not contain his fellow elder.

((OOC: Sorin out... he's charming, I know ))
Christian Bern 17 years ago
Christian helped Claire out of the limo telling the driver that he would give him a call when they were ready to leave. He then gave his companion his arm and headed towards the entrance of the home.

"You look lovely, Ms Tremaine. Are you ready?"Â?

The burgundy and gold sari was beautiful on Claire and the deep colour complemented her dark hair and pale skin. It was nice to see the waves of raven hair unbound and he wondered if someone could convince her to wear it that way more often.

He believed her choice of attire was excellent for the both of them. Christian had rather enjoyed Nehru jackets when they were popular just a few short years ago; they had a crisp look that reminded him of military uniforms in a way.

Once they were inside, He waited on Claire to greet their host first as he was a guest of a guest and therefore a total unknown.
Claire 17 years ago
Claire handed her gift to Christian and then stepped out of the limo. Once more on firm ground, she retrieved her gift in order to be able to take his arm. Carefully balancing the row of pots under one arm, she delicately entwined the other with the Evenhet's.

Despite the earlier uncomfortable scene, she could think of worse escorts to be in the company of this evening. Indeed, she liked Christian very much for what little she knew of him. Their group of companions had spent very little time on personal chatter but the blonde security man seemed professional, capable and patient. It had been his censure she expected to receive when she left the apartment they had been searching and yet he had not given any.

Once they entered, Claire looked for signs of their hosts. Despite the number of people already here, Cyrus was still greeting people at the front entrance. She smiled and said.

“Good Evening. May I introduce Christian Bern? Christian this is my esteemed clan mate, Cyrus.”

/ooc My companion forgot to mention that he was carrying a bottle of champagne for those who had not read our earlier thread. Claire is carrying a long wooden crate with four turquoise glazed ceramic pots with rosemary, chamomile, catnip and mint.
Cyrus 17 years ago
Cyrus smiled and nodded at Sorin's apt assessment of Fallon. She was indeed a treasure he intended to guard. He was also quite pleased that the elder had opted to play along with the theme which validated his mate's hard work. Bowing respectfully as Sorin made his exit towards the main portion of the party, Cyrus then had time to commend Dave on his excellent work before the next guest arrived. Upon seeing who it was he was pleased to have stayed at the door.

Bowing deeply and extending his welcome to his clanmate.
"Welcome Claire, thank you so much for coming."

Offering up a lei to the lovely woman for her, to accept or decline, caused his nose to twitch. "Greetings Mr. Bern, it is a pleasure to meet a friend of Claire's."

Dave offered the man a lei of leaves and one single tuber rose. Nose still twitching Cyrus turned to his clanmate with a grin. "Is that scent what I think it is?"
Christian Bern 17 years ago
Christian turned his attention to the man standing off to the side of the entryway; it would be his guess that Cyrus opted to have someone dedicated to the safety of the guests, a wise choice with so many vampires present. He raised his eyebrow at David, one of his own security officers, who apparently freelanced. He had remembered the man asking to be allowed to work for a new agency and he agreed so long as the clan and its secrets were not compromised. He wondered if David knew to expect his own clan at this event; he was going to have an impossible time reading Christian and Alfarinn. Otherwise David was a very skilled empath, quite accurate and able to detach himself from the reading. Deciding not to give his clan mate trouble, Christian gave him a slight nod of greeting and acknowledgment and then turned back to Claire and their host.

"I thank you."Â?

Christian accepted the lei in exchange for handing over the bottle of champagne that he brought as a gift. Slipping the lei around his neck, he smiled at Claire and Cyrus.

"I am honored that she is willing to be seen in public with me."Â?

He watched the exchange between the two Anantya with interest. Perhaps they were both tea enthusiasts?

((OOC: Thought we'd have to say something about the Evenhet at the door since it seemed likely that he worked for Christian. Hope that is alright.))
Claire 17 years ago
Claire accepted the lei and the greetings with a smile for Cyrus.

"You have a lovely home. Thank you for the invitation."Â?

Christian seemed agreeable to the lei and she thought it was interesting to see the Evenhet Security Chief looking so festive. Cyrus had an excellent eye for color however and Christian's lei went very well with the burgundy jacket with gold accents.

She was about to present her housewarming gift but her companion's remark caused her to pause. Turning a sardonic smirk on her escort, Claire replied.

"Well I might need protection from all my fans. I am -terribly- popular in certain circles."Â?

Smiling at Cyrus, She handed him the box of herbs.

"It is indeed. I am afraid I could not resist."Â?
Cyrus 17 years ago
Claire's companion must be a vampire but he was not anyone Cyrus knew. Perhaps she would clue him in later, otherwise he relied upon Dave to let him know of any violent intents. A lopsided smile graced his face at their banter. It seemed they knew eachother well, which made him happy for his clanmate.

Accepting the herbs with a small bow he hoped Fallon did not react to it too much. One never could tell the first time. Too much of the herb had a sporific effect on him while other cats felt charged and energetic. It would be best to put it up immediately.

"Please make yourselves at home, there are more people on the lanai if I am not mistaken but dinner should be served in twenty minutes as well. Excuse me while I hide this from the felines."

Bowing again he left Dave to point the direction as he took the pots off. Stepping through the front door and into the master suite's garden he carefully placed the pots upon the decorative table amid lush greenery. They stood out nicely but as he rubbed his hands he realized that only washing would help take the scent away so he hurried into the house and quickly used the small powder room's sink. In just a few minutes he had the gift settled, his hands clean and no longer smelling of catnip and was back at the door, speaking to Dave. Getting the man's impression of everyone, once he felt comfortable with everything he would go find his mate.
Christian Bern 17 years ago
Christian nodded his thanks to Cyrus and stepped out of the entryway.

“I am sure we can find some trouble to get into if we try hard enough.”

He put on his best innocently good smile to belay his words. No one was likely to believe him much of a trouble maker anyway. Claire also hardly seemed the rabble rouser despite her assertion that she needed protection from her 'fans'

Holding out his arm for her, Christian smiled.

“Shall we go mingle with the adoring public, Mistress Tremaine?”
Claire 17 years ago
Claire hoped the gift was acceptable. Cyrus went immediately to put it somewhere but told them where to find most of the other guests. She smiled faintly at Christian's reassurance that they could find trouble if they tried hard enough. Personally she was hoping they would try to stay out of it this evening.

Taking the arm proffered to her, Claire joined Christian in heading to one of the rooms.

"Mais bien sûr, Mon Chéri, It would be unjust to deprive the awaiting masses."

/ooc Claire and Christian out with permission.
Fallon 17 years ago
It bothered Fallon that she hadn't been able to greet everyone yet, but hoped no one felt slighted. Knowing Suki had a special guest, Fallon didn't want her friend spending on second more on anything having to do with party preparations. So she was making her best effort to see that things kept running smoothly, and was rewarded with what seemed to be a party that her friends were enjoying.

But dinner was nearly ready to be served, so she returned to Cyrus' side as an attractive couple passed by on their way into the house. The woman looked familiar, but Fallon didn't recognize the man at all.

Once she reached Cyrus' side, she again rubbed his back lovingly, and kissed his jaw lightly.

"Anyone not yet accounted for?" She asked, as she looked into his eyes tenderly.

"They're about ready to serve dinner, so it might be a good time to start going in..." Once she knew Cyrus would be ready to sit down in the dining room, Fallon would begin ushering everyone else in, with the help of the waiters. But she wanted to make sure her lover was ready first.
Thaddeus Grey 17 years ago
Thaddeus pulled back from a long, slow kiss and glanced at the clock on the dashboard, not wanting to lose track of time. Satisfied that they had not blown the entire mission, he turned back and touched Alfarinn's cheek, finding that he quite liked the way his lover's braided hair left his face exposed. He experimented with the idea of working up a sense of shame over stealing a kiss in Alfarinn's car but he couldn't quite manage it; after all, what else was there to do while they waited for the right time?

That right time came soon enough and they found themselves walking toward the door. A gift wrapped package was tucked under one arm, and his free hand found Alfarinn's sometime before they reached the door. Going at an unhurried pace, Thaddeus took in the home with interest, though his eyes often strayed back to his lover just as his thoughts strayed to the evening ahead of them.
Palmer 17 years ago
Palmer drummed his fingers on his steering wheel while he waited for Thaddeus and Alfarinn to step out of the limo parked nearby. To help pass the time, he played out the conversation Claire and Christian were likely having with their hosts.

'Hello, this is my charming date -Christian-. He is not as tall as, oh, say, Palmer Calhoun, but he makes up for it by being a sensitive Evenhet type.'

'A pleasure to meet you all! Am I not the best date ever with my spiffy outfit and my champagne bottle?'

'Why yes, you are the most stunning pair at the party! Together you are a force to be reckoned with! Palmer who?'

Snorting at his own foolish thoughts, Palmer shook his head and turned up the radio, tapping to the beat of SexyBack and getting his game face on. He wondered if the fact that all it took was the right song on the radio to bring his confidence back up was an indicator that he was, by nature, a shallow person, but decided there were more important things to worry about. Like the two blondes getting out of the limo ahead of him. He would figure those two were necking in the parked car while he was listening to music and trying to glue his ego back together.

Amused, he made sure the car was locked and slipped his keys into his pocket before following Thaddeus and Alfarinn to the front entrance.

"Fancy meeting you two here! Shall we go in?"Â?

He managed to resist the urge to sprint inside first, as it made more sense for someone who had actually been properly introduced to at least one of the hosts to go ahead, but he did go in smiling broadly and looking ready to enjoy festivities without a care in the world.
Alfarinn 17 years ago
Alfarinn smiled at Thaddeus when his companion leaned away. He was amazed at how it still felt as though they were getting away with something by stealing these little moments where they could. Would it always be this way? He had seen a few fortunate humans who spent their entire lives with that one person for whom there was always excitement and magic; more still who had a long comfortable relationship. Alfarinn hoped against hope for an immortal's version of the first blessing.

'Not asking much of the universe, are you?'

"Shall we?"Â?

They headed towards the door and were soon met by Palmer. Alfarinn felt an odd sense of relief that their part tonight was relatively minor; they were here for the house warming party. It was rather selfish of him to be happy that his friends had the more serious roles this evening while he and Thaddeus could safely enjoy themselves but there it was. In his own mind he could not deny it.

"Good Evening, Palmer."Â?

Alfarinn spared a long glance for the Huntsman and hoped that the man was able to enjoy himself this evening. And that they did not ruin a friend's chance of happiness with their schemes.
Thaddeus Grey 17 years ago
Thaddeus slowed down even more to allow Palmer to catch up, though he made a point of rolling his eyes at his friend's terrible acting. 'Fancy meeting you here'? Oh yeah, that was believable.

He imagined he should probably relax – no one could hear them out here and it didn't appear anyone was watching – but old habits die hard and he was so used to worrying over such details that he wouldn't recognize himself if he didn't.

As they made their way inside, he gave Fallon a polite smile and released his free (and, tonight, ungloved) hand to offer to Cyrus.

“Good evening, congratulations on your new home.” As Palmer was likely chomping at the bit, he continued by turning to Fallon. “Fallon, Cyrus, this is my good friend Palmer Calhoun, from Charleston.”
Cyrus 17 years ago
Cyrus had been listening to Dave give him a brief overview of their party guests. When he mentioned that Mr. Bern would be unreadable but was notably a 'good guy' Cyrus arched a brow. Upon further digging Dave admitted that the guy in question was his Evenhet boss. The head of Security no less. Being slightly impressed at Claires' ability to make friends he left off the rest of his grilling of the security guard. Apparently he knew exactly what he was doing, who was who and just how to pull off his job without causing anyone undo stress.

Fallon's appearance pleased him. Knowing that his social butterfly kept coming back to him warmed his heart. Of course he did not think that it mattered if she only came to inform him that dinner was ready to be served. Before he could agree to rally the guests for the event, another party arrived.

As Dave opened the door, Cyrus watched amazed as the large man morphed into that respectfully deaf mute servant. While seeing Thaddeus Grey at the door would not elict that response, but the man whos hand he held, quite possibly would. Smiling at the pair he shook the hand offered by his clansman and then offered his own to this Palmer.

"Good evening. Pleasure to meet you Mr. Calhoun."

Offering his hand to Alfarinn he tried not to laugh at Dave's reaction. Either the guard was afraid of his own clan elder or feeling a bit caught by the man. Of course the reaction could be based upon seeing the two blonde men holding hands but Cyrus hoped the big guy wasn't a bigot. One did not live as long as they did and not at least try everything, otherwise it would be a very borring extended life.

"Always a pleasure to see you Alfarinn. Thank you all for coming."
Fallon 17 years ago
As luck would have it, more guests arrived before Fallon could drag Cyrus away from the door. However, being that one was another elder, she supposed it was good they were still there to greet them.

Fallon smiled in return at Thaddeus, and his companions as well. She knew it was her own prejudices surfacing, but she had some trouble reconciling the young man with what she saw to be rather stiff manners. That he only offered his hand to Cyrus seemed a little outdated, but she was wise enough not to let her feelings show. Instead she offered her free hand to the man introduced as Palmer.

"It's good to meet you Palmer, welcome to our home. We're glad you could ALL join us this evening. And just in time too, if you're hungry. Dinner is about to be served, but please, if you'd rather have drinks or mingle a bit feel free."

She hated rushing the new arrivals right into the dining room, but wasn't sure what proper etiquette dictated in such occasions. Deciding to err on the comfort of her guests, she extended the offer of drinks as well.

And because the presence of any elder still made Fallon nervous, she moved closer to Cyrus, and kept her hand holding onto his hip, letting him continue with the welcome.
Alfarinn 17 years ago
Alfarinn raised his eyebrows as Dave opened the door. The poor man looked far more surprised by the turn of events than he did. Letting Thaddeus and Palmer into the door first, He paused to lay a comforting hand on his clan mate's shoulder. Giving the security man a smile, he said.

"Good Evening David."Â?

Christian had already come to the home. No doubt it was a night of surprises for the Evenhet; first his boss and then his elder come walking into an Anantya party. After a brief exchange of greetings with Dave, Alfarinn came to stand behind Thaddeus.

Placing his hands on his lover's shoulders. Alfarinn smiled warmly at the Anantya couple.

"It is good to see you both."Â? Turning his attention to Cyrus, he replied. "Thank you for having me."Â?

He was certain there were those who would have preferred if they had not invited him to what was mostly an Anantya get together. Sorin at the very least would probably have rathered him be in oh... Timbuktu.

Not able to turn down a good drink when it was offered, Alfarinn grinned at Fallon.

"I hope the evening has been wonderful for you. I am sure we can find our way to the bar while everything is being set up. Thank you kindly."Â?
Palmer 17 years ago
Palmer brightened further as the round of introductions ensued with very little annoying British blustering on Thaddeus’s part. If there was going to be blustering, it should be –southern- blustering!

“It is a –delight- to finally –properly- meet you both!” They had come close to meeting at Fallon’s initiation but never quite managed it, what with Fallon being surrounded by a flock of females and his own detainment speaking with Sorin.

Taking Fallon’s hand, he thought to kiss it but had an instinct that Cyrus might take it the wrong way. He didn’t particularly want to kick things off by starting trouble, so instead he gave the offered hand a sturdy shake.

Of course, he couldn’t be expected to –completely- forgo social charms.

“Enchanted, truly enchanted. Thank you for welcoming this humble clansman into your grand home.”

Someone said ‘bar’ and that was all Palmer needed to hear – he was right behind Alfarinn and Thaddeus in heading further inside.

“Splendid idea! Our delightful hosts deserve a toast!”

/ooc Palmer Thaddeus and Alfarinn out! Or in! Something!
Fallon 17 years ago
The three men were very kind to Fallon, and appeared to respect Cyrus, something Fallon looked on as natural, but appreciated it greatly when she saw evidence of it displayed before him.

Running the known guest list through her head quickly, Fallon couldn't think of anyone who had yet to arrive. Of course, Cyrus may have invited more people that she wasn't aware of.

As the last three arrivals made their way into the house, Fallon smiled at Dave, and watched as he discreetly made himself appear busy with other things. He remained at his post, but turned his back to the only pair remaining in the foyer. Fallon took immediate advantage, and cuddled up against Cyrus, pressing into his side, and embracing him in her arms.

"NOW can we go into dinner?" Talking low, and breathing heavy into his ear, she looked beyond to see if anyone behind him was looking their way. When she felt reasonably sure Dave was the only one paying them any attention at all, Fallon nipped Cyrus ear lobe, and then kissed him. It was nearly impossible to stand so close and not show any signs of affection. So when she did get the chance, Fallon took it, even if it was the briefest and barest of touches.

"I think people are headed that way, and will be looking for us there."
Cyrus 17 years ago
With a wink at Dave who hid his smirk by appearing busy with the table, Cyrus smiled at his impatient mate. Once she was done tormenting him he returned the favor by nibbling up her neck to her ear.

"Yes love, we can go to dinner. Though what shall we do with our guests?"

Leaving his love with only a quick but firm bite on her own earlobe as he straightened. Of course this has just as much affect on him as it did her and he adjusted things to make his pareu lie flat once more. Rather than give into their ever present lust his arm offered to escort her into the apropriate room as he tried to not notice Dave's large shoulders shaking slightly with unspoken laughter.

((Both Out to the House))
