Tomorrow Shay and PT were taking the train to New York. It was the big day. The day she'd known was coming but had resisted thinking about. However, more than anything she just wanted it all over with, and behind her now.

It had been necessary to make a trip to the mall and pick up a few things. She smiled while she picked out new undies. Strangely enough since becoming involved with Alex, she had found she was going through panties quicker than normal. A couple pair had come up missing, and more than that had been ripped from her body...and not always at Alexi's hands. It was one of those thoughts that went on into more detailed thoughts, that eventually had Shay blushing.

She had found a nice dozen pair that she really liked, and thought might catch Alexi's eyes, and had them tucked into a bag on her arm. Now she was making her way to the bookstore to pick up a couple magazines for the train ride. It was a casual walk and along the way she stopped and peered into every window she passed, including the men's stores. Having a man in her life had increased her interests in so many areas.

She thought of him now...he hadn't been home when she returned from the market, and hoped he was out having a good time, rather than working. She would never say it, but his job would always concern her. Well, part of his job anyway...the part that she knew involved guns and knives. She was getting better at pushing those thoughts out of her head though, as she did now.

Turning away from the window, Shay felt a small body run into her legs, and looked down to see the confused face of a small boy. She smiled at him, and he just looked up at her blankly. But seconds later his mom showed up and apologized for her son's inattentions. The little boy did smile at Shay as he was led away, and Shay continued to smile until she noticed she had dropped her bag. More than that, all the contents...twelve pair of panties and thongs, were now spilled on the floor at her feet.

Quickly scooping up her things, and returning them to the bag, Shay detoured from the book store just long enough to pick up a few new shirts for Alexi. Making sure one was his favorite royal blue, she also found one in a green she was sure would match his eyes, and one done in greys, black, and a few shades of brown, that even had a small pattern in the weave that almost looked like bats when you held it just so. At least they looked like bats to Shay, and she thought it was cute. Even if he only wore it around the house, she thought it would look smashing on him. She was lucky Alexi was built the way he was, and could wear just about anything, and make it look good.

Adding the second bag to her arm, she proceeded towards the bookstore. Yet again she stopped, when she came to a very interesting store she hadn't noticed the past two times she'd been shopping in the mall. From the window it looked like one of those novelty stores, like 'Spencers', but when she looked further into the store, beyond the window display, she could see there were even more 'novel' items, towards the back of the store.

Grinning a little excitedly, Shay entered the 'adult' store, and smiled at the man behind the counter, as she made her way towards the section that had piqued her interest. He had offered her assistance, which she quickly waved off, and fortunately moved out of his view before the blush covered her face. Even though she had become so much more adventuresome in the bedroom with Alexi, than she had ever been with Brian, or any of her scant other lovers, she hadn't become so at ease with her sexuality that she could discuss anything with anyone.

Also, it was odd that she would have an interest in these 'types' of things now. As a cop in Los Angeles, she had been in and out of such stores...either busting people in them, or busting the people who ran them...and yet not once had she felt any desire to check out the 'wares'. But then again, Shay had never had someone as delicious as Alexi to share such things with either.

Having given in to her distractions long enough, Shay did finally make her way to the bookstore, and found several magazines she thought should hold her attentions long enough to make it to New York.

Once she paid for the readings, and left the bookstore, Shay wandered around the mall aimlessly. She stopped and looked into windows, and even sat awhile and watched the people there. So many different people to see.

There were older men and women who appeared to be part of a 'walking' group, quickly scurrying along the walls of the stores, arms moving briskly, some with weights, some just using their limited strengths to participate. Then there were mothers and even a few young fathers out with their tots in tow. A play area that had been set up in the center of the mall was almost full to overflowing with children, and that took up close to an hour of Shay's time, just smiling, and watching.

For some reason she kept finding little things that were distracting her from going home. She even went so far as to start talking to one of the security guards about his gun, which he seemed more than happy to enlighten her on. The crazy part was the gun he carried was much like the one she'd been given at the academy, and of which she was more than knowledgeable of. She didn't let on though...there was no reason to take away this man's small bit of fun, during what she felt must be a normally boring job.

Bidding him a good day, Shay could come up with no more ideas on how she could stall the inevitable. Hoping Alexi would be there, but knowing she would even settle for seeing her brother, Shay finally left the mall for home.
