Interesting Arrival

'Interesting Arrival'

The City of Nachton seemed to be an odd place, parts new and parts old, with the industrial thrown in hodgepodged. If Rorrie hadn't know better she might have thought that she was lost in Eddingburrow or such as she watched the city go by from within the safety of the long sleep black limo.

Nothing was too expensive for the heir to the Rosethorne estate and soon to be lady of the Rosethorne industrial empire. Especially if it allowed her to find some lost portion of the Rosethorne family line.

Images of the city scape flashed by reflected on the privacy tint of the stretch limo's windows. She thought back to how people had looked oddy as her helicopter had arrived depositing her at NAchton International.

She wondered if they weren't used to seeing large seagoing helicopters with only one passenger?

Perhaps it was the eighty thousand dollar Guichi suit?

Or the fact that she was just a girl?

Well either way, these Americans were strange people.

Of course the limo had been late...bollux! That would never have happened in England!

She yawned, a little tired apparently and settled back into her seat for the drive to the hotel.

That was more then an hour ago and she though thte traffic in London was bad. Anyways, the driver notified her, via speak of course, seperation of the classes and all that, at least the Americans had gotten that bit right.

It was majestic, huge rather, you see in England they didn't build them that high; she figured it was a penis envy thing the people in this country had.

She figured it would make for a nice base of operations for her hopefully brief stay here in this country while she searched for her long lost relatives.

Of course the hotel staff was expecting her, though they didn't realize that she would be so young and after a small bit of paperwork, that some sodding agent hadn't finalized, she was finally led on her way. The limo driver would remain available as he was on retaining and thus enjoyed a small hotel room to himself as a benefit.

Lucky guy!

'Melody for the Grieving'

The hotel staff showed her to her corner suite on the 41st floor; it was huge and very satisfying and included an indoor hot tub as well as balcony that allowed one to see across the cityscape.

In short she was impressed.

The stack of luggage in the center of the room showed her that her belongings had safely made it, but it was the reinforced steel case that held her most prized possession that caught her immediate gaze.

Her violin, a treasure given to her by her father when she was old enough to show him she could play one properly and handle it with respect.

That was only four years ago and she had treasured it ever since.

After the staff had left she had grabbed a bottle of water from the suite's stocked frig and moved to the balcony, the air was cool and the day was starting to get late as the sun seemed sleepy eyed in the distant west. Opening the case she carefullly inspected the instrument before pulling it out and tested the fine hair of the bow before properly tuning it.

With that done she put it to her next and played a soft introductory, the accoustics of the outside balcony added marvelously in such an unpredicted manner that she soon lost herself, her grief, her worries, and her fears in a suite of Beethoven which carried over the city below.
