A Room With A View of the... Mall? (attn: Nic, Dani)

Aishe got into the elevator and pressed the appropriate button. 31 floors was an awfully long elevator ride. She was still feeling unexpectedly happy, and she turned to Dani to mention it.

"I can't believe I'm this excited to be buying pajamas," she confessed. "It seems like forever since anything has felt 'normal,' but here I am hanging out going shopping as if I were a teenager again. Go figure."

When the elevator's smooth ride came to an end 31 stories above the ground, Aishe got out and led Dani and Fatty to the right suite. She opened the door and let them both precede her in. She hadn't been here long, so her things had simply been tossed into the bedroom. In all honesty she wasn't sure how long she'd be staying. Her future was decidedly undecided.

"I'll make it super-quick," she promised. "I'm sure you know the layout far better than I do, so just make yourself at home."

With that she quickly bounced into the bedroom, rummaged around for an outfit that wasn't too horribly wrinkled, and then headed into the bathroom for a trip in and out of the shower.

Aishe smiled at the rest of the ice cream-goers.

"First-timer," she said with a little shrug. "I'm going to have to follow along. So long as the end result is chocolate, I'll go just about anywhere!"

She resettled her bags in her hand and turned to Alfarinn and Thaddeus.
"It was nice to see you both again. Maybe another time?"
Nicholae 18 years ago
Nic too, having forgotten his manners, turned to Arin and Thaddeus, and extended his hand again.

"Yes, it was nice meeting you both, and Arin...if you need to see me anytime soon, I'm staying at the Towers, and will be at your disposal. Enjoy your evening."

Nodding, and even bestowing a slight bow, he felt it was necessary to acknowledge the issues that had taken him to the Towers, but not necessary to bog Arin down with details now. It was obvious the man was enjoying his evening, and Nic didn't want to do anything to ruin it. He was sure there would be time for that later.

Walking towards the door to the bookstore, Nic opened the door, and stepped outside, holding it open for whoever was accompanying him.

Artemis smiled down at Pak, amused and content to watch her play with the little toy car. His arm still rested casually on her far shoulder, and it was quite happy to remain there. He had been rather pleased with himself that he did not have to use the old yawn and stretch maneuver. When the car hit the door he couldn't contain the chuckle.

"We can accompany them for the moment. We need accomplices and scapegoats."

Turning back to Alfarinn as two of the others said their good-byes, Artemis made a face at him.

" Well if you are sure you want to miss the fun, though you have seen me get leave a shop with much encouragement before. At any rate I am sure to have something destr...." With a look at Dani, he gave her a quick wink, " extremely useful and non-menacing to society set up. And there is that meeting that we have to finish the preparations for."

He nodded to Thaddeus. "Until next time."

With that, he waved to them both before turning and preparing to leave with Pak.

Pak made a face as the car hit the door, she was out of practice. She watched Nic closely as he opened the door, if he stepped on her... er... Artemis' car he'd be wearing his ice cream. Fortunately, he didn't and she was able to zip it outside and safely off to one side.

Noticing the inventor hadn't dropped his arm from her shoulders, she was rather pleased, and made no attempt to alter that. She added to his list of accomplices and scapegoats, but did so quietly in the hopes that no one else would hear.

"Victims."Â?

Now that they had a plan smiled at Alfarinn and Thaddeus.

"We'll be good. Nice to see you both."Â?

Well, mostly good anyway, which, in her mind just meant not getting caught.

Being the curious sort she wondered about the meeting he mentioned, but decided not to say anything. If there was a plot afoot...

She turned slightly and gently angled Artemis towards the now open door.

"I'll drive you navigate."Â?
Alfarinn 18 years ago
Alfarinn smiled at his companion's proclaimed innocence and then looked to others.

"You kids have fun. I'd say don't do anything I wouldn't do but Artemis is likely to make up stories about me as an excuse. -None- of them are true. "

He turned to Nic and returned his farewells, confused by the man's motivations. On the one hand he seemed to want to discuss whatever this problem was and on the other he'd had the opportunity to mention it or ask for some time to speak about it and he had not. Perhaps if they had not had urgent business to take care of with Anantya then he'd take the time to persue it further but the situation seemed to be able to keep a bit longer which was more than could be said about the one he and Thaddeus found themselves in.

"Certainly. It was a pleasure. Enjoy your ice cream."

Alfarinn smiled at Pakpao and Artemis as they left and shook his head. It seemed there were perfect matches out there even for trouble makers like himself and Zone. Amazing.

"Yes, we'll let someone else help... I mean -watch- you get thrown out of a store."

Turning to Pak, he grinned and raised his eyebrows innocently. Knowing a vow of goodness around Artemis and his toys was likely not going to last long but he got the impression that the programmer was nearly as saintly as her tall dark companion.

"Of course and if not...hide the evidence."

They were now nearly as alone as they had been before meeting up with the little group and Alfarinn took the moment to breath deeply and focus once more on what was ahead of them. He reached into his pocket for his phone and called the limo. Before leaving the store there was one last person to say farewell to. Coming to the end of the bookshelf, he leaned his head against and looked at Theodosia.

"It was good to see you again, Theo. We need to leave but we will be back later. Let Mari know if you need me for anything."

Grinning at the sight of her and the book, he turned to leave her to her entertainment; she looked every bit the peaceful child at the moment and though many times their appearances were deceiving, Alfarinn felt that this was one of those time she came close to being what she appeared.

[ Well my perfect angel, let's go see your family now that mine have found other things to keep them occupied. ]

Dani tugged on Fatty’s leash until he reluctantly stood, shooting her a disgruntled look. Rolling her eyes, she gave the hound a pat on the head.

“C’mon, Fatty; time for frozen yogurt!”

She shook her head at Artemis’s ‘scapegoat’ remark and shrugged her purse onto her shoulder. Theo seemed to have gone back to what she was doing and Thaddeus and Alfarinn had likewise taken their leave, so unless there were any last minute purchases she figured their little party would be on their way.

“Shall we then?”

Aishe 18 years ago
Aishe didn't need to be prompted twice... not when chocolate was involved. She resettled her bag in her hand and followed Dani out of the bookstore.

((ooc: out to the next stop with the gang...))

Nic had been holding the door, and probably would have continued to do so if the others had been moving along. However, once Dani and Aishe had come through the door way, it appeared everyone else was still talking, so he closed the door, and followed the two girls he'd come in with.

Artemis allowed himself to be directed once again toward the door. He was about to say thank you for holding the door open when the other man suddenly stopped and left. Somewhat surprised, Artemis shook his head. He looked down at Pak with an incredulous look before laughing out-right. The man had picked the wrong clan to be a pompous prat in. The least he could have done was say something in parting, an excuse me I would like to follow the two ladies not operating a miniature motorvehicle. With a grin and a pointed look in the man's direction he let one word say it all.

"Victim"

Partially annoyed that he now had to remove his arm from where it had been resting comfortably, Artemis stepped away from Pak and opened the door. With his foot, he set the kick-stop before turning and giving her an elaborate bow. Hopefully it would at least make her smile.

" Dear lady."

The gallantry of the moment was somewhat lost when the braid slipped over his shoulder and fell, coiling on the ground in front of him. Artemis found himself grateful that Pak had already driven the car through the doorway. Having his hair wrap around the wheels, thereby attaching the car to his head was not exactly the impression he wanted to make.

(ooc: sorry, they had been moving toward the door in previous posts so it looked as if he shut the door in their face.)

This guy really knew how to make friends didn't he? Pak had been half inclined to let him off the hook, the whole shoe thing serving as a warning but now she was cross again. At least he hadn't squashed the car. Huffing at the now closed door she looked up at Artemis doing her best to appear scandalized, even though her own thoughts had been along the same lines.

"And after I promised we'd be good?"Â?

Ordinarily she would have returned his bow with one over her own formal bows, but somehow a curtsy seemed more appropriate. Smiling at him, she quickly placed one foot behind the other and made a bold attempt at the gesture. Something was lost in translation as she was wearing khakis but it was the thought that count.

Slipping through the again open door, Pak quickly picked up the car and then without thinking about it grabbed Artemis' hand.

"But purely hypothetically... don't you think he'd look good in strawberry?"Â?

((OOC...out and I think we are the last so it can be locked now.))
