A Little 'Me' Time - Open

Breaking down, and allowing herself the luxury of staying at the Piazza, Fallon quickly had her luggage taken to her room, and then made an appointment at the spa. It was still early evening, but she was pleasantly surprised to hear that not only was the spa open, but they could take her now.

A treatment would serve to relax her, get her skin glowing, enabling her to get a good nights sleep, and be totally ready to go job hunting the next morning...money very well spent. She hoped.

She showered, and put on a clean pair of sweats - the best she had, which looked like Juicy knock offs, in a soft aqua.

Once she got to the spa, she was given a thick terry robe, and shown to a private dressing room, which opened into another private massage room. After stripping down and pulling the robe tightly around her she went into the massage room and climbed up onto the bed. Soon she was quite drowsy, as she waited for the masseuse.

Val absently ran her tongue along her canine, fang call it what you will as she listened. No one ran from a ‘not so nice alternate’ so she figured Fallon was leaving quite a bit out. However, they had just met and it wouldn’t be fair to ask her to go into detail regarding things. It still pissed Val off though.

Sure, Giovanni had acted high handedly but the almost understood that. She’d had one or two lovers since who’d gotten out of hand though, and they hadn’t been given the chance to regret their actions.

“That much of a bastard? You let him off too easy if you just left him.”

She couldn’t offer yet, but because she still remember what it was like to have limited options as a woman Valentine would help Fallon if her ex showed up here.

Letting things drop she laughed.

“Ah, that wasn’t selling, you’ll know when I am. But seriously, if you can’t find a school you ought to look at selling. You’ve got a nice sincerity I don’t think you’d try and shove something on a person unless it was perfect for them and they’d believe it too.”

Valentine was a woman, and that made her instinctively easier for Fallon to talk to. Plus, she was a friendly face in a strange town, and Fallon could use any connections she could foster. Since she planned on making Nachton her home, eventually she'd want to buy a new car, get a permanent place to live...and...it would be nice to have someone to do things with again.

"At the time I left, I just wanted away. I figured the less trouble I created the less reason he'd find to come after me. I'm hoping once I get settled in here, and enough time has passed, I can file for divorce and he'll just go along with it. Especially if I pay for all the legal work, and he's not put out at all."

Yes, Fallon was making things easier for the prick...but in the long run they'd be easier for her too.

She smiled when Valentine continued to suggest sales as a career choice, though that was one thing she'd not sold Fallon on, yet.

"I will really keep it in mind...and...I'll keep it in mind."

She had thought about asking Valentine if she might like to have dinner with Fallon sometime, but then lost her nerve.

Standing up, Fallon waved her mug to indicate she was taking it back to the bar. She was now pleasently sleepy, and thought it would be a good time to head on up to her room.

After she'd left the mug on the counter, she walked back to where Valentine sat.

"Sorry...I'm not a drinker, and that rum has really gone to my head."

She smiled apologetically.

"I was wondering...if you aren't busy some night...if you might like to join me for dinner...maybe a movie...do they have movies in Nachton?"

She laughed...it was a silly question. Of course any city as big as Nachton probably had several avenues of entertainment.

She nodded, sympathetically, sincerely.

“Good luck with that. I mean it sounds like you have everything at least a little planed out and that should help both of you.”

All right, all right she was excusing herself and Val knew enough not to over stay her welcome. What was the line, ‘how can I miss you if you won’t go away.’

“I’d be up for that. But fair warning I’m a night owl and it isn’t trendy to set foot outside before nine.”

Easy enough to dismiss that little peculiarly as being a bit of a partier. Standing she scrawled her cell number on the back of one of the dealership cards and handed it to Fallon.

“Keep me posted?”

"Helping him is no longer my concern...but I do hope things go smoothly from this point out."

Fallon had enjoyed meeting Valentine...and in fairness, she'd enjoyed meeting Nic as well. But it had been a long couple days, and sleep was what she needed more than anything.

"Nighttime will be fine...hopefully I'll have a job and will only be available in the evening anyway. In fact, maybe it will be a celebratory dinner...cross your fingers."

Taking the card, Fallon nodded and smiled at Valentine.

"Thank you very much, Valentine. I'll be sure to call just as soon as I hear something."

And with one final nod, Fallon headed towards the elevator, and her room.

“I’m sure you’ll find something around here without too much trouble. It was nice to meet you.”

Val waited a second, damned now she had the whole rest of the evening to sort out. Ah well. Maybe she’d change and go out that could be a good time.

Scowling reproachfully at her empty glass Val went back to retrieve her vehicle and find something to entertain her.
