Waiting

Alfarinn wandered about Thaddeus's quarters or perhaps it would be more accurate to say he prowled like a caged cat. It was better than being in his own home though, at least here there were things of interest that would cause him to pause and smile.

Thaddeus had quite the collection of books and Alfarinn stood in front of the bookcases for a while taking in some of the titles. He smiled at the rows of books that looked similar to Thaddeus's current journal and wondered if by the time his companion reached several thousand years of age they'd have to get him his own library for them.

There was no use picking up anything to read, He knew he'd simply stare blankly at the pages. Heading upstairs, Alfarinn paused at the grand piano and reached out a hand to touch it lightly on the cover, the image of his lover came instantly to his mind, hands playing over the keys with an easy grace, head tilted to the side and eyes partly closed as the music carried him away to a place of peace. Alfarinn could almost hear the music, he sighed and felt more at ease.

He decided it would be better to try and continue on with something that would be more relaxing, or at least stop his pacing. Wandering into the large bathroom Alfarinn was glad to see Thaddeus had a tub as well as the shower he had mentioned briefly.

Sitting on the edge, he leaned over and began to run the hot water. Alfarinn made sure that a towel was handy and then undressed, folding his clothes neatly and setting them on a counter. Looking around for something to hold up his hair, He finally reached back into his pocket and pulled out his pen. Tieing the hair up in a loose knot, he secured this with the writing utensil now made hair accessory.

Alfarinn turned off the water and slid into the tub with a sigh. While his mind was still miles away wondering how his companion was faring, his body at least was starting to relax. He hadn't been aware of how tense he'd been until the warm water began to loosen his limbs a tiny bit at a time. Eventually, he leaned back and closed his eyes, images of Thaddeus doing the very same caused him to smile briefly before his mind wandered back onto possibilities he'd rather not contemplate.

'He'll be back soon' Alfarinn told his wayward thoughts firmly before leaning up and finding the soap and a washcloth.

Alfarinn looked up and smiled at Thaddeus as he entered. The catch in his lover's speech was enough to make his heart stop a moment and then pound back to life loudly in his ears. There was something very thrilling about knowing you were desired in such a spontaneous way.

He watched his companion climb up beside him, pulling off clothing as he went and had a hard time thinking that it wasn't in some way worth the earlier interruption, though personally he could have done without Sorin tonight.

At Thaddeus's mention about Sorin and troubling himself over the man his first thought was to say it had been a long time since he'd troubled himself over Sorin at all but Thaddeus was concerned about his feelings and sarcasm would be a poor way to repay that.

" So long as you are comfortable and feel that you can work with him without this being a hindrance to you is all that is important. I've had to deal with my dislike of Sorin long before I left Anantya so it is nothing new for me but I can hope that our being together won't be a strain on your relationship with your elder. " Alfarinn sighed, there were other things likely to strain that relationship as it is, but not tonight, his companion needed no more bad news tonight.

Thaddeus pressed himself up against him and Alfarinn held him tightly, making a low noise of appreciation at the renewed contact.

"Mmmm, I believe I was..." He leaned down and nipped Thaddeus gently on the neck. "right here."

Thaddeus felt that he had given Sorin his due time and then some, and while there was probably more to say on the matter, he likely could not have explained clearly even if he were in any way inclined to do so. Alfarinn pulling him closer indicated they were of the same mind, and he considered such matters as the outside world to be at rest for the moment.

He took in a sharp intake of breath at the nip to his neck, tilting back his chin.

[Ah, yes I remember now.]

He had not, of course, forgotten at all, but could not pass up such an opportunity. Alfarinn knew this drove him absolutely crazy, and Thaddeus was not certain of how much teasing he could take right now. It would, however, be interesting to find out.

He wrapped one leg around Alfarinn's and pulled him closer, running one hand along that tall lean figure as he slid the other into silky hair. He sighed softly at the renewed contact and simply enjoyed the feeling of all being right with the world for a moment before leaning in to kiss Alfarinn again.

He kissed gently but firmly, trying to be patient as desire coursed through him, wanting to savor every minute. A countless number of events throughout this night had slowly chipped away at his sense of restraint and usual control but had the advantage of taking the edge off his usual tentative nature as well. His hand drifted lower, down Alfarinn's side to his hip, and he moved with assurance inward, making only enough space between them to allow for his explorations. Tracing along the other man's midriff, he allowed his hand, which seemed to have developed a mind of its own in the course of kissing Alfarinn, a moment to touch and wander before moving lower, trailing lightly over sensitive skin. He wrapped his long slim fingers around Alfarinn's erection with a blissful sigh, taking considerable pleasure in simply being able to touch his lover this way. He did not pause long, instead pushing as close as he could and still have some freedom of movement, and stroked Alfarinn as he kissed him, shivering with the thrill of their closeness.

Alfarinn was glad that the matter of Sorin was settled for the moment, upon seeing the man standing there in the hall, he was certain the mood would somehow be spoiled for the evening. Thaddeus was proving, very convincingly, that this was not the case.

He had a fierce desire to kiss and touch his companion that seemed to be echoed by Thaddeus's actions. The night had taken its toll on his patience and it seemed that his lover's was running thin as well and as much as he enjoyed taking his time and giving the beautiful body in front of him the attention it and its owner deserved at the present he wasn't sure he was capable of that kind of restraint.

Not that it seemed to be a decision left up to him in any case, Alfarinn reflected on this with some amusement as he was kissed and caressed by his aggressive companion. His musings stopped abruptly as that graceful hand wrapped around him, Alfarinn's eyes slid closed and he pushed against his lover with desire, wanting to feel as much of him as possible.

"Ah..." He smiled in between kisses. "I believe you win this game, Mr Grey."

Alfarinn leaned back down to Thaddeus's neck determined to return in kind some of the attention he was being given. He slid his lips lightly along that warm inviting curve in a slow teasing fashion before kissing more passionately eventually bringing fangs across skin. Pressing down harder, Alfarinn waited a moment should there be a protest, dubious as he was that such a thing would ever occur, and then slid his teeth into his companion, one hand moving up to the back of Thaddeus's neck and the other trailing down between them to wrap itself around Thaddeus's length, stroking gently in time with his lover's movements.

Just before the blood made thinking entirely impossible, he sent.

[Unless you'd like to call it a draw?]

Then he let feelings wash over him and let the blood bring them even closer together.

Thaddeus had time to grin in satisfaction and thought to mention that he felt they were in fact quite evenly matched before the reply turned to an appreciative moan. Tilting his head to allow for better access, he increased the intensity of his movements against Alfarinn as words failed him. He was quickly becoming lightheaded with anticipation, breath coming in short gasps and soft sounds as Alfarinn teased him to the breaking point. By the time his lover dragged fangs gently over his skin he was shaking with longing and holding onto Alfarinn like a lifeline, any semblance of control long gone.

"Mmm...my love..."Â?

The world went black as Alfarinn bit down, and it was a long moment before he realized he was holding his breath. He gasped both from pleasure and a need for air, the sound distant in his ears. The pounding of his heart was somehow much louder to him than the soft murmurs of approval or the whimpering moan when Alfarinn's hand completed its journey down and wrapped around him. For a moment he felt himself slip away, letting his eyes slide shut as one hand stroked Alfarinn's hair.

[A draw is...quite acceptable.]

There was a sating comfort in that cool hand on his neck, in being touched and stroked and held, in the sweet relief of fangs at last sinking into skin. Even as Alfarinn's hand around him brought him to new levels of desire, with that came a sense of calm but overwhelming affection, only heightened by the bond.

He continued running his hand through Alfarinn's hair as his lover drank, stroking him steadily with his other hand as closeness and emotion washed over him. Somewhere above the haze of pleasure he was aware that he was whispering softly, disconnected and somewhat blurred, but sincere nonetheless.

"Alfarinn...my love...so amazing...

Words trailed off into nothing as even that small amount of coherence left him, and he allowed the shared sensations of the bond show what he could not find the words for.
Alfarinn 18 years ago
Alfarinn heard the sounds of his companion even over the sensation of the blood, something he found truly remarkable, that he could be so attuned to everything about Thaddeus that even in that rush of exhileration that comes from the first taste of blood he could still feel and hear his lover so well, in fact it seemed to heighten those sounds and touches until all he could feel was Thaddeus, there was no bed, no sheets, no room, nothing but his love tight against him, inside him.

His senses seemed so sharp at this moment, and the touch of Thaddeus's lips and hand was quickly driving him to the point of madness, Alfarinn pushed and moved against his companion and within his skillful grasp.

Thaddeus's words made him sigh against his neck, he was overwhelmed by the love and affection that was directed towards him and was amazed at the peace and security that it brought him. So many people doubted the depth of their lover's sincerity at least in some dark corner of their minds but Alfarinn had no way to doubt what he could so vividly feel and sense, He counted himself lucky indeed, for the fulfillement that it brought him and because Thaddeus was amazing and more, himself. He would have counted himself fortunate to have known his companion and was at the point of feeling blessed by benevolent gods to be loved by him.

A part of him realized that this exchange would be so much better if it weren't going only one way and that his companion would be hungry if he continued much longer, slowing down to an occasional sip or lick against Thaddeus's neck, he sent.

[Please take some back]

He didn't want to break the connection just yet, not until Thaddeus completed it again, this closeness was so healing to him and he hoped that it was the same for Thaddeus, and to make it last as long as possible.
Thaddeus Grey 18 years ago
Thaddeus opened his eyes and pushed aside Alfarinn's hair, running his fingers in careful strokes from temple to shoulder. Simply the offer of Alfarinn's blood sent a thrill through him, a nearly untamed desire that cut to the core of him. Feeling Alfarinn move against him in need brought a sense of exhilaration in addition to his own pleasures at his lover's hands, and that intense mix of emotions was enough to remind him to take care. He would not forgive himself if he hurt Alfarinn in a moment of reckless passion; the amount of trust his lover had in him was something Thaddeus treasured and never wanted to lose.

[Thank you.]

It was easy to get caught up in simply touching his lover this way but a part of him protested that this was no time for inhibition, not with the bond so close to completion and Alfarinn waiting and wanting just as badly as Thaddeus. He ran his hand along the curve of Alfarinn's neck, testing the texture of his skin however familiar it was by now. Once ready he moved confidently enough, winding his hand in that soft hair before tracing along Alfarinn's neck with his fangs. Finding the place just behind and below Alfarinn's ear, he paused once before sliding fangs down in one motion, tender but certain now as rich blood seeped up through the wounds.

That feeling of completion flooded through him with the blood, and with it came that bright awareness of his lover as he closed his eyes and forgot all else. He was for a moment overwhelmed with sensation, amazed that he could feel so much both physically and emotionally and with such intensity that he could have easily gone over the edge then and there. He pulled back after a moment, taking the blood more slowly now and allowing himself and his lover to enjoy this moment of deep awareness and peace that the completion of the bond brought.
Alfarinn 18 years ago
Alfarinn shuddered with pleasure at the feel of Thaddeus's fangs entering him. The first sharp draw of blood was enough to bring him to that breaking point. He held tighter, pressing his companion down against his neck in longing, for the briefest of moments before he realized what he was doing and loosened his hold, running his hand down Thaddeus's spine lightly to rest against the small of his back.

"Ah...thank...you."

The feeling of completeness within the bond was a mixture of peacefulness and dizzying sensation. The mutual yearning from them both drove him over the edge. He could feel his lover's slow movements against his neck as a deep contrast to the harder movements of the hand wrapped around him.

"Thaddeus..."

Alfarinn arched against his companion and gasped as the waves of pleasure crashed through him. He tried to remember himself and not crush Thaddeus to him in those moments when his body went rigid and his eyes shut tight. Instead, he found himself holding him still lightly but his arms were trembling with exhaustion and relaxation. He sighed peacefully when the world came back into focus and looked at his lover.

"Thank you, my beloved." He smiled serenely. "That was and you are, indeed, amazing."
Thaddeus Grey 18 years ago
The desire he felt from Alfarinn coupled with his own was already nearly too much to take. There was not even a possibility of withstanding both his own need and Alfarinn's pleasure and, knowing he did not stand a chance, Thaddeus gave one last slow lick at his lover's neck, a final push against his hand, letting the blend of sensations push him to climax with a low moan.

He closed his eyes and allowed both of their pleasures to overwhelm all else, burying his cheek in Alfarinn's neck.

Alfarinn's speaking brought him back around, and he opened his eyes to find his lover looking back at him with a sated smile that was likely similar to his own. He ran his hand lightly along one arm before bending down to kiss at the marks he had left.

"I do believe, Alfarinn, that was a draw."Â?

He rested his head on Alfarinn's shoulder for another moment, too content and exhausted to move right away, but eventually pushed himself onto one elbow and looking down at his companion. He took one strand of hair in his fingers and tucked it behind Alfarinn's ear before leaning down and whispering those all too familiar words.

"Don't go anywhere."Â?

He reluctantly climbed out of bed, feeling the good cold of the tile under his feet as he walked around to the bathroom, pausing only to pick up his discarded clothing on the way. Throwing the items into the hamper, he set to running the water and getting cleaned up, catching a glance of himself in the mirror as he did. He took in his mussed hair and darkened eyes, the flush of his cheeks and the mark on his neck that would all too quickly disappear. There was, he decided, something quite compelling about the fact that only Alfarinn would ever see him this way, that this was entirely his lover's regardless of what the rest of the world demanded from him. He could not help but miss the fact that underneath that look was one of fatigue at the edges of his eyes. It was, however, a satisfying sort of exhaustion rather than the world weary feeling he had carried when he walked into his quarters.

Deciding any more self examination would be considered rather shameless vanity, he took a towel, dampened one end with warm water, and turned off the tap. He went back to the bed, climbing in again next to Alfarinn and smiling softly as he cleaned his companion with gentle strokes of the towel. With his other hand he stroked Alfarinn's hair with similar tenderness, bending down to kiss his temple before pulling back and regarding his love.

"You are quite stunning you know."Â?

That was an impressive understatement on his part, and he wondered if he could ever find adequate words to express just how incredible Alfarinn was. He supposed there were other ways to convey such things, and leaned forward for a lingering kiss against smooth cool lips.

He stood one more time to throw the towel in the hamper and, deciding it looked quite full indeed between the numerous changes of clothing and towels, pulled the string around the top of the bag inside tight. He opened the hidden panel in the bathroom that led to a laundry shoot, where he knew the Manor staff would have everything cleaned and at his door by morning.

Satisfied that he was not forgetting anything, he returned to bed, wrapping his arms around Alfarinn with a contented sigh and burying his face in the other man's shoulder.

"I love you."Â?

Alfarinn grinned at Thaddeus's affirmation that they had come out evenly in this, he was happy enough either way so long as they 'played' again.

"I suppose then that there will have to be a rematch."

He nodded ever so slightly at the staying still and was happy enough to oblige the familiar request. Alfarinn laid his head on his outstretched arm and closed his eyes in contentment. It was good to know that Thaddeus was close and would soon return to the bed.

Despite all that had happened tonight, they had told Morrigan their intentions and it had not gone so badly as he had feared. Sorin did not seem to have given Thaddeus the difficulties that he had expected and that worried him a bit, the man was rarely generous but perhaps he was willing to continue his masquerade as a good person where Thaddeus was concerned. He would simply have to be cautious, which was the plan even before Sorin was a known threat and there was some comfort in having two known enemies compared to one known and one mysterious.

Alfarinn wondered at how Thaddeus was going to take the news but knew that he couldn't keep it from him, even now the thought of hiding something was eating at him though he felt that Thaddeus deserved some rest before receiving more bad news to shake up his view of the things he considered to be stable and good in his world. It was though something his conscience warred with, he felt that Thaddeus was so very strong and it was wrong of him to judge what his companion could and could not handle. The other side of him said that it was his responsibility to use some judgement on such things, being honest was always a virtue but having the good sense to know when the timing was bad and when the information would serve no use other than to be hurtful was also important.

He sighed contentedly and let the worries slid away to the back of his mind as Thaddeus sat next to him and gently took care of him. That his companion would do such a thing for him after the hard night he'd had made Alfarinn love him all the more. He thought he could not possibly feel more affaction for this man than he already did and was pleasantly amazed by the deepening feelings, that only grew stronger with familiarity and time.

"Thank you." Alfarinn smiled faintly, almost modestly and decided not to argue with Thaddeus over what was stunning, though he did appreciate his view better, being kissed again reinforced the idea that not arguing was the better course of action, there were much better things his lips could be doing.

His companion finally settled next to him once more and Alfarinn felt a sense of peace wash over him. He put an arm around Thaddeus and ran a hand gently through his hair, enjoying the closeness of Thaddeus tucked snuggly against him.

"And I love you."
Thaddeus Grey 18 years ago
Thaddeus let his eyes slide closed and ran his fingers down Alfarinn's back in slow, somewhat sleepy strokes as he leaned into his lover's touch.

"Yes...certainly we must have a rematch..."Â?

Sleep was overtaking him quickly now, the stresses of the night only vague shadows in the wake of such a perfect ending. Alfarinn's fingers in his hair were quite soothing, as though he were pushing away the worst of the night and leaving only himself behind.

"...mmm...that's very nice Alfarinn..."Â?

He wondered vaguely when he had become so ineloquent, but it was more a tired thread of a thought than anything deeply philosophical. He shifted closer to Alfarinn, feeling that coolness against his still somewhat heated skin. Yes, he could certainly fall asleep right this moment, perfectly content, and be ready for all that must be done when they awoke...

"Hmm...forgot to call Simon."Â?

His eyes refused to open, and his body as good as laughed at him when he made an effort at movement.

"'s probably sleeping anyway. I'll call him...first thing when I wake up."Â?

He did his best to remember what else needed to be done upon waking, and slipped into sleep thinking of phone calls and visits to Evenhet and weapons.

And rematches.

He dreamed.

He walked down the hallway of the Manor, his feet bare. He looked down and saw a trail of bloody footprints going down a hall impossibly long, with no end in sight. He was tired, so tired his legs could barely move, but he had to keep walking, there was something he needed, somewhere...

...outside, in a strange place he did not recognize. Dead grass crunched under his feet as he made his way down a hill. Ahead, he saw a man, no one he knew but there was something...something familiar about him. The man stood next to a burnt and smoldering ruin, and as Thaddeus approached he saw that it was the remains of the gazebo. The man, wearing a bright red coat, turned, and it was like looking into a mirror..no...like looking at a copy of himself with deliberate mistakes made. The man who was and was not Thaddeus handed him a rifle, but it was too heavy, he was being dragged down by the weight of it, down and down into...

...the sewers, rats just behind him, he could hear them, and he tried to move but he looked down and saw he was thigh deep in...

...blood, coating his legs, his fingertips, but even as he looked down he saw that the blood was draining away, and everywhere it had touched was now clean, it was swirling down the drain of the...

...shower, the water pink with blood, and he braced his hand on the cool tile and saw more blood streaming down. He watched in fascination as little rivers formed on the white tile until he heard the sound of...

...the phone ringing, startling him out of his reverie, and he looked over his shoulder, toward the sound of the phone, and smiled. He took his phone from Alfarinn's cool hand and watched it melt away. Looking up at Alfarinn in confusion, his lover merely laughed.

'Don't try to hold that. Hold me instead.'

He tried to move closer and found that he could not, he was rooted to the spot, and he looked up, frustrated, but Alfarinn had already closed the distance and he put his...

...arms around him, rested his head on Alfarinn's shoulder, warm in the bed with cool skin against his cheek, and let sleep take him to more dreamless places.

Alfarinn watched Thaddeus for a bit, continuing to gently stroke his fingers through his companion's hair until Thaddeus had drifted off, seemingly peaceful within the bond.

He reached reached down with one hand, still holding Thaddeus with the other, and pulled the covers up higher around them, leaving them over the top of his companion's shoulders.

With a sigh, Alfarinn closed his eyes and tried to drift off to sleep as well. There was more troubling him but the peace he felt from Thaddeus made up for his own difficulties and then some.

He wondered if they should continue the search for the apartment soon after Simon was called but the original plan of watching the Wolf was safer, once he was out of the way then they could look into finding this apartment of Sorin's. Alfarinn figured the man would be more confident at that point anyway, especially if they pretended that the Wolf's death ended the matter.

It was not something to be worked out tonight and not something to be settled without Thaddeus's imput on it. Alfarinn gave up further thought on the issue and giving Thaddeus a gentle hug, he drifted off to sleep himself.
