Catching Up

Between classes and his job and more or less avoiding the Pack Navid hadn't seen as much of his cousin as he would like. As he should have. He had been sent here after all to keep an eye on her, to make sure she wasn't causing trouble. That fact that she was had made things difficult, but he'd stayed to make sure things didn't get out of hand.

So far things withing the Pack had been calm enough, there had been the occasional spot of trouble mostly directed at his cousin but nothing overt or ground shaking and nothing she hadn't handled well enough. At least, nothing he'd seen or heard about had been bad but if Guillaume were totally honest he knew that he'd been avoiding not just the Pack but Thérèse as well.

Even so, he'd slowly started to notice this was not the Thérèse he knew. She wasn't as open with those she didn't know. She was less eager to seek out new acquaintances, she didn't go out into the city at night. In fact, she was more often than not back to Shady Pines before sun down. It was all quite odd.

This evening though he'd persuaded her to met him at Terminus. After all, she'd never actually been inside. Guillaume had been out and about making himself useful here and there when Thérèse walked in and he had to laugh, he doubted Thérèse knew what a geek was as she was certainly more dressed for the night club aspect of Terminus that the gaming.

Excusing himself from the busy work he'd invented he greeted her.

"Bonsoir cousine." He quickly and familiarly kissed each of her cheeks "Vouliez-vous le grand tour?"

Kiyoshi Salinas 12 years ago
Kiyoshi felt a wave of embarrassment hit him when the bathroom door opened. Oh God, he really didn't need anyone witnessing this. Humiliation didn't disappear but was at least tempered when that person appeared to be Evan, who showed up with wet towels and offered a handful of them to Kiyo.

Flushing red, Kiyo mumbled a thank you and took the towels, wiping his mouth. The taste across his tongue was nothing short of nasty but, having ejected everything he'd drunk, he felt much better. When Evan kissed his forehead he smiled weakly and lifted his shoulders.

"She might have tried to take you away," he muttered softly, angrily. "She has no right to judge you just because of what you are."

Evan knew now how badly Kiyoshi feared having what he cared about taken from him. He knew Evan would understand the reason behind his actions.

"Aside from that," he said, flashing a little smile at his lover, "it's unusual to attack someone as submissive as me."

He said it bitterly, but with a matter-of-fact tone. If there was any benefit to being the low man, it was that open submission often diffused dangerous situations before they could escalate.

Evan pulled him close and Kiyo went willingly, nodding with his eyes closed and resting against Evan's chest. The wet towels on the back of his neck felt good; his recent exertions had given him a raging headache that, while it was sure to vanish quickly, was still annoying as hell.

"I don't know if it wants to stop spinning," he said with a shaky laugh.

Kiyo grinned in spite of himself at Evan's next question.
"I'm not entirely drunk yet," he pointed out truthfully. It had been nerves, mostly, that had precipitated his sprint to the mens' room. "I could be convinced to work on that though. I have mixed feelings on drinking right now but if she's still out there, I think I'm leaning toward more."

He turned sideways, gave a little sigh, and wrapped his arms around Evan's waist.
"You can take advantage of me any time," he said.

Finally opening his eyes, he squinted into the fluorescent lights of the bathroom. Wincing, he looked up at Evan.
"I'm sorry I'm so much trouble."

He gave another sigh.
"I guess we do have to go back out there huh."

All things considered, Kiyo would rather find a back exit and get as far away from Therese as possible.
Guillaume 12 years ago
"Very much so.”

A glass of something, anything strong, would be good. Just one shot, something to... well wishing was no good.

"But I think I shall refrain from drinking out of the bottle.”

He had on occasion, but now was not appropriate. Besides, some one should keep an eye on Thérèse. She was calm now, not relaxed by any means she kept glancing in the direction that Evan and Kiyo had gone, but she was calm

Surprisingly he didn't entirely object to the idea of Tavi calling her father. He was not in any hurry to meet the man, nor was he in any hurry to defend his business venture with a vampire, but if it would help resolve this matter he would cope with the fall out.

Nodding in agreement with Tavi, they did need to get away from the public eye for a bit to discuss this. Navid was reluctant to let her leave, even to return to the asylum. Not terribly surprisingly she seemed not to be exactly in a hurry to remove herself from the situation. Of course, she would not run from a problem.

He was, however, stunned when she said there was nothing to talk about.

"Thérèse, chère, you tried to assault my business partner and to take out a packmate. In public. I think you do owe some people an explanation if not an apology.”
Octavia Emiliano 12 years ago
Tavi nodded to Guillaume and shrugged. She supposed he could ask someone to bring him something if he really wanted it, advantages of being partial owner and all that. He didn't seem nearly as distressed as Kiyoshi had been or Therese. Of course he was probably at least somewhat prepared for the bad reaction that some of their pack was bound to have to his choice of friends and flat mate.

Therese claimed not to want her to call her dad. Fine, she wouldn't call him.

She'd text him.

*You know that guy with the interest in art? Would he be a V? *

It wasn't long before her phone buzzed in response.

*Why do you ask? *

That was her father. Mr. Informative.

More texts came and went in the next few minutes. She sat on the floor with her knees drawn up to her chest, her arms wrapped around them with her phone out front. Tavi drank her wine in between her bouts of rapid typing.

The summation was that he eventually answered her question and reluctantly agreed not to come running down here to save his girlfriend. Therese had said that she didn't want him to come so Tavi was doing her best to advise against it. Not an easy thing to do with Vaughn Emiliano. He took his time to think things over and was more approachable and open minded than some of the smaller pack alphas she had seen but once he made up his mind on something he was impossible to dissuade. However, in this case a compromise was made.

She looked up at Therese and waved the little phone. "He wants to know if you are all right and if you're sure you don't want him to come." Tavi shrugged with a 'don't shoot the messenger' expression. She never promised not to page her father. " I can tell him, 'no' if you want. Otherwise your...grey suited knight will be down here faster than we can say 'How about another round of wine'."

Coming up onto her knees, Tavi knee walked over to where Kiyo left his remote and then used it to end their game. She looked around at the two cousins. "Anyone want to bowl?"
Evan Talkingwater 12 years ago
Evan kissed Kiyo on the temple and then nuzzled his lover's hair gently with the tip of his nose. "She can't take me away from you." Nibbling gently on Kiyoshi's ear, he added quietly. "I'm yours, remember? And this particular thing of yours has a will of his own." Evan went back to his gentle soothing touches with the cool towel. "It won't be taken away as easily as the others." He knew his lover's fears and while part of them stemmed from the past, the other part was well founded. He couldn't promise to never leave Kiyo but he could promise to never do it willingly.

He frowned as Kiyo talked about himself as submissive but knew that at least from the werewolves point of view that it was true. In many ways it was true in everyday life for the quiet bartender. If Gordon hadn't considered Kiyoshi and easy target for his manipulation he might have tried Angelina first, or at least gone to give her a try before he pushed Kiyo so far. Evan wondered if his partner would have had the same tendencies without being a werewolf with a domineering brother around always shoving him down. Would his many sisters and brothers have done the same thing to a human Kiyo? Was it simply his nature? He didn't know the answer to that and he wasn't sure it mattered. He loved his gentle partner just the way he was.

"Yes, well its a good thing she didn't attack you." Evan snuggled Kiyoshi closer and sulked stubbornly. "I'd hate to have injured some relative of Guillaume's but I wouldn't let her hurt you."

Kiyo turned and wrapped his arms around his waist and Evan sighed in contentment. Yes, they were sitting together in a stall on the bathroom floor but at the moment he was quite happy to be there. He rearranged his arms and hugged Kiyo close. Looking down, he asked. "Are you sure you want to drink more?" He didn't want his lover to be sick again. "I'll stay with you if you want." His lover had also told him that he could take advantage of him whenever he liked. "I'd like to take advantage of you now but I suspect they will come looking for us and people might want to use the bathroom at some point."

Smiling into Kiyo's hair, he said "Its still very tempting..." He let one hand trail down his partner's side and then slide down to caress Kiyo's inner thigh. Evan gave his lover's leg a gentle squeeze, moaning softly in desire and disappointment. It was hard to let him companion go when he had him tucked so comfortably warm in his arms.

"You are not trouble." Evan said automatically. "And if you are. I like it." He gave Kiyo a grin.

Sighing once more at Kiyoshi's next words, he nodded. "Yeah, sneaking out the back might be frowned upon and Navid knows where we live."

He scooted out from behind Kiyo and stood up, reaching down a hand to help his partner. Before moving to the door, Evan reached in his pocket and pulled out the tin of altoids. As a bartender they were a helpful thing to have for patrons wanting to make a good impression on other patrons, for saving yourself from having to inhale the alcoholic stench of those you had to help to a cab...all kinds of uses. Pulling one out, he smiled at Kiyo.

"Close your eyes and say 'ah'." Evan waited until his companion did as he asked. He then slipped the strong little mint on his lover's tongue and then followed it with a tender kiss. Pulling Kiyoshi close, he embraced him one final time. "Everything will be okay, Little Wolf."

With extreme reluctance he let Kiyoshi go. Evan unlocked the door, pulled the magnet down and took out the makeshift sign. He tossed the sign in the trash bin and put the cleaning schedule back on the inside of the door.

"Okay, let's go play nice."

((OOC: For those that have read the Anita Blake books. Yes, Evan is a vampire with breath mints. ))
Therese 12 years ago
"Apologize?"

She raised an imperious eyebrow at Navid. That would not be happening any time soon. Apologize to it? Certainly not.

"I did not 'try to assault him' I simply needed to ascertain his intentions. And it isn't as if I asked Kiyoshi to become involved."

The truth of the matter was she didn't know what would have happened if Kiyoshi hadn't done that though. Thérèse didn't think she would have gone so far as to actually attack the monster, not in public. She had, however, certainly pushed further than necessary.

They bickered back and forth a bit in terse French, more out of habit than out of a need for secrecy, and she had only half noticed Tavi texting. It was something she'd often did her best to ignore not wishing to intrude on personal conversations. When Tavi did speak up she smiled softly.

"I am quite all right." That was partially true. "I will be back to Shady Pines soon and he may yell at me then. But he is sweet for worrying."

If their situations had been reversed certainly Thérèse would not have been pleased he'd have placed himself in such a situation. Not that she would have yelled but she would have been less than pleased.

"You two bowl. I will watch."

And by watch she meant she would keep an eye out for the returning mulo.
Kiyoshi Salinas 12 years ago
Kiyo couldn't help shivering when Evan nibbled on his ear. There was a tingle up his spine and he shifted even closer to his lover before smiling softly to himself; this wasn't fair. Evan knew how sensitive he was. But it did help take his mind off being nervous, and Evan's caring and concern were obvious... so he wasn't sure he was actually complaining any. He sat quietly in Evan's lap and let himself be reassured.

He wished he could impress upon Evan the sheer force of Luis's charisma. Not only was he good-looking, but he seemed to attract followers, for want of a better term. Kiyo had had partners before, and free-willed or not, they'd chosen to go with Luis. Kiyo was afraid Evan would realize that Luis was a far better wolf if they ever met, handsomer, smarter, better than Kiyo. He knew that was doing Evan a disservice though. He trusted him and kept his fears to himself, because he knew they were simply irrational thoughts born of nerves.

"I wouldn't let her hurt you either," he said softly, but that much was very plain or he'd not have moved between them. Only one thing had given him the courage to do it and that was Evan's safety.

Kiyo pondered the merits of drinking more. He winced, his head still pounding, and looked up guiltily at Evan.
"I might have one or two," he mumbled. "Therese is... kind of trying."

He clung tighter to Evan when he offered to stay.
"I'd like that," he said, "but not if you'd be uncomfortable. I don't want anyone to be mean to you and I won't even be able to touch you."

That might be difficult, too. Kiyo was starting to feel very casual and natural when he and Evan were alone together. He did know how to keep up a lie but when they were with friends he suspected it might get more difficult. He could manage, though, if it meant having Evan there versus not.

He held out his hand and let Evan pull him upright when it was agreed that they could neither hide in the bathroom all night nor make good their escape. Kiyo wouldn't leave Tavi hanging, anyway. Not only would it be rude but he had missed her in the last couple of weeks.

He closed his eyes and opened his mouth as directed, tasting the strong minty flavor of the altoid and smiling at Evan's kiss. Thank goodness for the mint; he thought as Evan pulled down a sign he'd obviously made when coming in. Kiyo's breath was hardly fit for company at the moment. It might make his next drink taste interesting, but it was a far better option than truly having dog-breath.

He hugged Evan fiercely one more time before heading out the door. As they returned to their group Kiyo smiled at Tavi mostly, his eyes flickering to Guillaume as well and then not quite meeting Therese's before sliding away from her again. She had been watching them as they walked back and he couldn't help but shrink from her gaze.

"Sorry about that," he apologized softly. "Too much to drink too fast."

They all knew it was a lie but, well, even Kiyo had a little pride. Hopefully they'd be all right letting him duck the fact that Therese had scared him into it. He suspected it'd be a long time before he got into a car alone with her again... not that she was likely to offer him a ride any time soon.
Guillaume 12 years ago
He was in no hurry for the Alpha to come charging to Terminus. This was hard enough to explaine as it was. But at least the man seemed to care for his lover. For the first time he did not sneer at the word and concept. Navid actually was rathere greatful to Tavi for her meddling. He would like to speak to her later, perhas she knew more of what was going on than he did.

Thankful for the suggestion of a diversion he did bowl with Tavi, watching Therese out of the corner of his eye. She was at least some what interested in the game rather than just watching for Evan. He could, however, tell the instant she laid eyes on the men.

"You would think a bartender would be smarter about that."

He smiled, giving Kiyoshi his out.

"Evan did you want to join us or did you want to go somewhere quiet to talk?"

The point Navid was making to his cousin was, though, Evan was welcome and was a friend. She was welcome to come or go as she saw fit. He only hoped she would stay.
Octavia Emiliano 12 years ago
She smiled at Therese and sent a text to her father. "No need to rent the white horse." Tavi sent her message and told her dad that everything seemed under control for now. "He's not the yelling type." She looked at Therese solemnly for a moment. Vaughn did not yell. At least never within her hearing. There had been many times in her life when she had wished that he would yell, but he never did. Sometimes the silence was a lot worse. Knowing that he was disappointed, that was painful enough.

Therese declined the invitation to bowl. Tavi shrugged and looked at Guillaume. He seemed to be willing to oblige her in a game and let Therese get by with being a spectator. It wouldn't be any fun watching her play right now anyway. Part of the appeal of new video gamers is watching them learn and become engrossed in the experience. But Therese was distracted.

They had only made a roll or two before Evan and Kiyoshi reappeared. Kiyo looked better, less pale anyway but still not great. Tavi finished her shot and walked over to him. She pulled him into a hug and spoke softly. "That was very brave of you."

She looked up at Evan when Guillaume asked the other man to stay. Would he? Would she if it had been her? Yeah probably, just to piss Therese off. She'd have stayed. But then she was contrary like that. Maybe Evan didn't have quite the same mean streak in him.
Evan Talkingwater 12 years ago
Evan explained his plan on the way back to the group. He would excuse himself and come back as Evalyn. It would make Therese feel better to not have him around. Ignorance really could be bliss. And Kiyo would have him there as support; a support which was conveniently in the form of his girlfriend and therefore could be touched with impunity.

Therese spotted them as soon as they came back into the concourse. Her eyes barely left him. It was like she expected him to change into some wild beast and attack her at any moment. He could change and...squawk at her if she liked but that hardly seemed very frightening to him. It still baffled him why she was this wary with so many pack mates around. Even if she did not like Kiyoshi, he was still a werewolf. Evan figured that if he had tried to harm her for no reason then the rest of her pack would have defended her.

He shook his head at Guillaume and his invitation to stay. "No, I need to get back. I just thought I would bring the pitcher and wine and say hello. I didn't mean to cause you trouble." Evan wouldn't be sorry for what he was but he could sympathize with the difficulty it brought to his friend.

Clapping Kiyo once on the shoulder, he gave it a little squeeze. "Behave, Mister. I don't want to have to drive you home." All the way up several flights of stairs. The cab fare would be atrocious.

Evan tapped Guillaume on the back and looked over at Tavi. "Kick his ass for me, will you. He gets cocky if you let him win too often." He winked and grinned at his room mate and then waved a final goodbye to everyone and took off down the concourse.

Once he was around the corner, he took out his phone and sent a message to Kiyoshi.

*Hey, you're off work now right? I got off work early and thought I would stop by. *

He continued out the front of the building and then around the side and then off into the line of trees that were just beyond the parking lot. It would be a simple thing to come back in without being recognized.

((OOC: Evan out for the moment ))
Therese 12 years ago
"Non... I don't suppose he would be."

Vaughn seemed more quiet and controlled than explosive. Either way she wasn't exactly looking forward to explaining this matter to the Sarkis. Thérèse was also trying very hard to keep Vaughn and the Sarkis separate. Rather difficult when they were indeed the same person but it couldn't be any easier to him to react as a father or lover rather than as the alpha. It was something they could discuss later.

She smiled weakly at Tavi before Tavi and Navid began their game. Even with only half an eye and very little thought to the game it did appear to be at least somewhat entertaining. But Thérèse kept watch for the return of the mulo. As soon a she saw him she sat up straighter and squared her shoulders giving the barest nod of greeting to the two.

"No trouble at all monsieur. Thank you for the wine."

There was a barley concealed threat under the polite smile and the expression certainly did not reach her eyes.

The mulo made his farewells and Thérèse was rather reluctant to see him go. While having no desire to be in his company, but if he was here she could keep an eye on him.

This one was, or at least gave the appearance, of being different than her keeper and different from the Evenhet they'd met. That didn't make her like him more, in fact it made her more wary. There was no consistency among these creatures. She didn't know what to expect of them. It was unsettling.

She frowned slightly at his easy familiarity, especially with Kiyoshi, but let him leave without further confrontation and without an apology.
Kiyoshi Salinas 12 years ago
Kiyo was glad Evan would be back. So he did his best to remain casual while Evan made his excuses and left, knowing he had to maintain the facade. Tavi hugged him and he smiled a little more genuinely, hugging her back. While his mouth was close to her ear he whispered, "I don't feel brave. I feel stupid."

It was soft enough that even Guillaume and Therese wouldn't hear him; Therese might not care either way but at least Guillaume had allowed him to save a little face and he appreciated it. He straightened up, let Tavi go, and shrugged sheepishly at Guillaume as he retrieved his half full glass of Pie.

"You're right," he said, sipping his drink. "Moderation. I forgot."

Suddenly his phone beeped. He looked down and read the text with a smile. Looking back up he glanced at Guillaume and Tavi... and Therese's feet.

"It's Lyn," he said. "She got out of work a little early." He blushed at the idea of deceiving Guillaume and Tavi, but it was necessary here.

"Um... do you mind if she comes down here?" Guillaume had seen her before but Tavi had never met her. So he looked at her. "Do you want to meet her? I can just tell her I'll meet her later if not, it's okay."

He didn't move to pick up another remote control. He was fine watching Guillaume and Tavi bowl for now; he'd join in for the next game if they wanted him too. And by then Evan would be back, he hoped.
Guillaume 12 years ago
He wanted to growl at Thérèse. She'd managed to make Evan unwelcome and yet she was still baiting him. If Evan hadn't been quite so broad minded she'd be in a world of hurt, they all would. Of course they wouldn't be in this situation but that was another thought all together.

He grinned at Evan,

"Winning has nothing to do with arrogance, I thought you knew that?"

In some ways he was sorry Evan had left, he did want to discuss this with Thérèse. As of right now she was more or less ignoring this whole situation. At least she was ignoring it other than staring after Evan. He doubted she'd relax at all now.

"No, of course we don't mind. I'd like to meet her, to make sure she isn't taking advantage of you."

It was so damned risky to tease Kiyo. Half the time Guillaume was sure the smaller man thought it was a threat or judgment. But he kept trying. Besides he was rather curious if Kiyo was dating Tavi or the little blond, obviously it was only one or the other if he were introducing the girls... women, to each other.

"Is she family?"
Octavia Emiliano 12 years ago
It seemed Evan wasn't going to stick around just to be perverse. That was big of him. She eyed Guillaume as if sizing him up and then nodded to Evan. "Bowl him down to size, got it."

Kiyoshi received a text not long after Evan left and said something about a Lyn who had gotten off work early and could this person join them. That was interesting, was Kiyo managing to talk to women while he was here at the bar? Maybe he was more comfortable around humans. She supposed that could be understood.

Raising her eyebrows at him, Tavi grinned. "You've got a girlfriend?" She gave him a little pout. "You're going to make me all jealous. Breezing into Nachton, getting a great job, working with hot guys everywhere AND managing to find time to find a girlfriend. I think I'm going to start coming to you for dating advice." The last guy didn't turn out so well. Who knew being a werewolf would be so much trouble for another werewolf? So they weren't from the same pack. That didn't seem so terrible. It wasn't like she was a vampire or anything.

To be fair, things weren't going smoothly with Drew before then. She didn't exactly know why. Tavi suspected that he couldn't handle her more aggressive nature. He always seemed shocked by just about anything she did. She sometimes wondered if she should have worn a nice long dress, no make up and asked her father to chaperone them on their dates. Maybe that would have restrained enough.

Tavi giggled to herself at the idea of going anywhere shadowed by her father. Nah, he'd just send the biggest Legionnaire he could find. She doubted it would have affected Drew. He wasn't small himself and he didn't seem to intimate easily. Unless it was from a five foot nothing woman with brightly coloured hair.

She waved a hand at Kiyo's phone. "Of course its okay if she comes over. I want to meet her." Tavi laughed at Guillaume's comment and nodded in agreement. "To make sure she's not taking advantage of my friend." Tavi winked at him to say she was kidding and took a swallow of her wine, muttering

"Lucky Bastard"

under her breath into the glass.
Evan Talkingwater 12 years ago
Evan leaned against the tree and looked down at his phone. Kiyoshi answered his text with:

* I would love to see you. *

He smiled down at it and then considered briefly what to wear. Thankfully, Evalyn was gamer geek with great taste in tee shirts. He decided on a blue and yellow hoodie with text on the front that said, 'If life gives you Melons you might be dyslexic'. This was paired with a white tank top underneath, jeans and a pair of white keds. Nothing overly special, just your average gamer chick. The blond fringe was pulled back by several dark blue barrettes.

Evalyn moved through the front of Terminus, asked for Kiyoshi at the front of the bar. Angelina smiled at her and said that she thought she had heard from Cassie that he was in the Gaming Concourse. Conveniently where she had left him. How nice.

She had been tempted to pick up a drink while she was at the bar but instead she figured that she would just share Kiyoshi's. Less would be wasted that way and Kiyo would not be drinking the rest of the pitcher by himself. Since she had the okay to take advantage of him later anyway she certainly didn't want him passing out before that happened.

Making a show of looking around the concourse, she eventually 'found' them. Evalyn walked up to the group, waving to Kiyoshi as she got close.

"Hey everyone." She leaned in and hugged Kiyoshi tightly and then leaned back just a bit, keeping one arm loosely wrapped around his waist. She promised to be touchable and that meant she'd stay within reach. She could protect him better that way. There was no reason for Therese to be upset with Kiyoshi now that the vampire was gone but just to be safe Evalyn wanted to be there next to him. It was not her biggest reason for wanting to hold onto her boyfriend but it was a good one.

"I'm Lyn." Evalyn looked around at everyone and then over at the screen. "Ooh bowling!"
Therese 12 years ago
She was happy enough just to watch Navid and Tavi play this game. It seemed simple enough, much like the actual game but less sticking your fingers into dark holes and fewer rented shoes. Two things that improved any sport as far as Thérèse was concerned.

Kiyoshi was a mystery, one second he was placing himself between a hostile pack member and a mulo and the next he couldn't even make eye contact, not even for a second. At least she had worn nice shoes, they should entertain him. Truthfully she didn't mind his being leery of her, he probably should be he had not endeared himself to her at all. As such she didn't say anything about this Lyn person who seemed to been his friend.

Ignoring this little conversation she kept glancing behind them watching for Evan or any other patron that looked to be a mulo. Were they solitary hunters? She still wasn't sure if the young woman the Evenhet elder had brought with him was a vampire or not. So it was likely that this one had one, or more, with him. She shuddered a bit wondering if her keeper had some one else.

Her nerves had not gone unnoticed and she felt Guillaume place a hand on her shoulder. She smiled at her cousin for just a moment before a bubbly blond appeared and half tackled Kiyoshi. As it was Kiyoshi's responsibility to introducing them, she just nodded at the girl. Nodded and wondered if she was a vampire as well, but that was paranoia speaking.
Kiyoshi Salinas 12 years ago
Kiyo could hardly wait for Evan to get back, although he liked having Tavi there and, surprisingly, was grateful for Guillaume's presence too. He wasn't sure yet if Evan's business partner was really a friend or not, but he was always kind to Kiyo... in his way. Evan was helping Kiyo understand how Guillaume ticked - that what Kiyo often thought of as disdain was actually Guillaume's dry sense of humor. Therefore when Guillaume mentioned Kiyo's girlfriend taking advantage of him he just blushed, smiled a little grin, and somewhat shyly said, "I hope so."

It was immediately followed by shock and horror, as Guillaume's question took Kiyo off guard.

"Family?" he said, trying to hide the revulsion he felt. Surely Guillaume didn't expect him to date a relative? His eyes widened briefly as he looked at Therese's shoes and back to Guillaume. No way.

Suddenly the meaning behind Guillaume's words hit and Kiyo dropped his head, smacking his palm up to it and sighing.
"Got it. Family. No, uh, she isn't. She doesn't know."

Evalyn didn't know she was really Evan, a vampire, who was currently dating him, Kiyo, a werewolf. Poor Evalyn. She'd probably feel pretty used if she ever found out.

Trying to cover his horrible faux pas he looked at Tavi and nodded
. "Yeah, uh, sort of. I mean it's not really serious or anything. I don't think."

He actually hated lying to Tavi. He really liked her. Of all the people he knew, Kiyo really wished Tavi could be in on this secret. He was sure she'd go out of her way to be kind to Evalyn, welcoming, friendly, because that was who Tavi was. He wanted her to know.

And, really, he couldn't be more serious about this particular person, even if it wasn't Evalyn but Evan. Oh God, tall, dark, handsome, kind, funny Evan. With his long gorgeous hair, his broad chest, his big gentle hands...

Down Kiyo.

He smiled at Tavi again.
"I bet she has some friends, she seems like she has a lot. Maybe she knows a few hot guys of her own."

Maybe she was a hot guy in her spare time.

He saw Evan emerge into the gaming area in his now familiar Evalyn form. Like he'd said, she wasn't exactly the same each time but Evan had enough practice now that the differences were minimal. Kiyo noticed, but he also had a lot of practice with observing minute details.

"Hey," he greeted her as she approached and hugged him. He sighed and relaxed a little; Evan was back, Tavi was here, Guillaume was here... things were all right. He kissed Evalyn's cheek, mindful of their company, and kept his arm around her waist.

"Lyn, these are the friends I told you about. Tavi, Guillaume, and this is Guillaume's cousin Therese."

He indicated the pitcher and the bottle.
"Want a drink? And we can join in the bowling for the next game if you want. How was work?"
Guillaume 12 years ago
He chuckled a bit at Kiyoshi's some what shy response. Thank the spirits some one was taking advantage of the man. Lord only knew what Kiyo would be like if he was... frustrated. Stress relief was stress relief and if anyone needed it was his their skittish bartender.

Waiting patiently for Kiyo to catch up Guillaume raised a quiet eyebrow with an odd half smile. For a second he wondered exactly what Kiyo thought his relationship was with his cousin. Kiyoshi couldn't possibly thing he was involved with Thérèse. Fortunately the shy wolf caught up and any awkwardness was avoided.

They were rather cute in a sweet way.

"Enchante Lyn. It is a pleasure to meet you. We can stop this game and start a new one if you would like. Better three or four two kick my ass than just one."

He hadn't actually noticed the score or the frame really. When he did look Tavi was winning, not by much but enough that he frowned a bit before giving Tavi a wry grin.

"You don't mind do you?"

Kiyo's girlfriend was cute. She was a few inches taller; her blond hair had pale pink streaks in the front of it. Her shirt was gamer fabulous. Tavi wasn't sure what to think of the girl. It was almost like looking at a calmer version of herself in some ways. Should she be hurt that Kiyoshi didn't choose her? Or be flattered?

She would stick to being happy for him. It was certainly the safest option.

Tavi waved. "Cheers"

She looked over at the score and then smiled up at Guillaume. "Just so long as you take note of the score so that later when Evan asks you can truthfully report a butt kicking." Grinning slyly at him, Tavi said. "Or for another glass of wine I could be convinced that it never happened."

Turning to Kiyoshi and Lyn, she said. "Yeah we'll start a new one." Tavi looked over at Therese. "I am sorry but you're just going to have to join us." She went over to the taller woman and placed a hand on her arm. "Come play. You'll feel better. We're all family here...well aside from blondie but she seems harmless enough. If she gets uppity I'll give her the smack down, promise. It will be okay."

Wrapping an arm around Therese, she looked over at Guillaume. "Make that two glasses of wine."

Evalyn waved to everyone and smiled once more. She would have said they didn't need to start a new game but it was quickly decided anyway and that was okay too. She was amused to see that Tavi had been winning up to that point and that the young werewolf was going to at least get a good glass of wine in order to keep that information from ...well, her.

She snuggled closer to Kiyoshi while she had the chance. He was so warm and sweet in her arms, nearly impossible to resist. Evalyn leaned in and planted a soft kiss on his jaw and breathed quietly in his ear. "Missed you."

Leaning back, she looked down at his drink. "What's this?" Evalyn smiled. "I'll share with you. If that's okay." It better be because she didn't want to carry a passed out Kiyo home tonight. That would make the taking advantage part so much less appealing. Having to sweetly tuck Kiyoshi in under the covers and entertain herself...torture.

"Work was okay. Except for this one guy..." She sighed, puffing a few stray strands of hair upward with her breath. She rolled her eyes. "I was on the phone with him for over an hour listening to him bitch to me about how we SAID his computer would be wifi capable. We SAID it was delivered with everything he needed already installed and that all this first time computer owning neanderthal needed to do was turn on the computer and he'd be able to get started." Evalyn tilted her head back and looked up at the ceiling for a moment and then looked around at the others, shaking her head. "Apparently we never expected to sell our computers to people who need instructions on how to breath. After working with him to sort out the problem I finally found the solution. The idiot had not bought an internet plan. Apparently in his fantasy world wifi is free. I told him to take his laptop to a library and call me back if it can't find a connection. Needless to say I never heard from him. Of course he also might have had enough of my winning personality for one evening."

Tavi went over to Therese and asked her to join and told her that she was among family. Evalyn was mightly amused at the idea of getting 'smacked down' by the little shifter but she suspected that the girl was a lot tougher than she looked. Not nearly tough enough but that was hardly something that she could know. As Evalyn didn't want to hurt her friend, she suspected that Tavi would safely never have to find out...unless she got uppity.

Lyn winked at Kiyoshi and went to grab an extra controller from the bin beneath the television set.

"Aww, the sparklie blond girl is taken." She pouted and bit her lip. "Okay then I'll be this big mean looking guy." Evalyn picked Evan's mii. "Fear my awesome height and fierce scowl."

Upon being introduced Thérèse said a polite 'bonsoir' to Evalyn but then quietly resumed her unofficial status of watch dog. Part of her very much wanted to go home right now and wished that she'd allowed Vaughn to come but she had no intention of appearing weak or incapable to anyone, including herself.

She was happy enough being on the fringes of the group, watching and listening without really being involved. It also did not take much to gather that Kiyoshi wanted very little to do with her and she would oblige him, for now any way. Nor did Thérèse want to ruin the mood of the evening for the others, not any further and she needed time to think about all of this.

Tavi, however, broke into those thoughts insisting that she play. She gave her friend a soft smile. It still bothered Thérèse that both Tavi and Navid had been so comfortable with the mulo, but she didn't -want- to hold it against them. To that end, although some what reluctantly, she let herself be persuaded to play.

"A smack down? You and what army?"

She joked quietly knowing full well that Tavi, or any of them (even Kiyoshi... probably), could deal with one human.

Finding her controller Thérèse cocked her head at the game, and glanced behind her, and back at the game.

"This one seems rather straight forward non? Just bowling without rented shoes..."
