Settling in

Saffia paced the rooms assigned to her, placing her laptop bag on the desk. It seemed to be an upscale hotel room like many she had been in over the last few weeks. She wondered if she should personalize the space. If it was allowed, if she dared to. She took the garment bag into the bedroom and hung up her few articles of clothing. She needed to acquire more, that was for certain. Tank tops, jeans, a couple of flannel shirts. These weren't her normal clothing. This was working clothing but she needed something more appropriate. She had the money, Lucius had invested and multiplied their holdings. Even without the insurance money from the cottage. Which brought her back to the whole notion of clan.

She wasn't entirely sure that she understood what her clan was about. It wasn't what she had been taught obviously. She wondered if Lucius had lied to her, or if he had been... outcasted from the Clan. If that was the proper word. She was so confused.

She opened her laptop and plugged it in, looking for a hard-wired network connection and couldn't seem to find one. She wasn't the most technical person, and her laptop seemed to just have connected to some sort of building wide isp. She shook her head and opened her email, reading through it. The funeral was conducted according to her religious beliefs as ordered.

She sighed and leaned back in the comfortable chair. There were things that she needed to do, and she wanted to explore. She closed the lid and sat there with her hands on the lid for a long moment, before getting up and heading out to explore. The packet on the desk told her that there were shops in the other side of the towers. Maybe she could find something more appropriate.
