You Never Know What You're Gonna Get (private)

Amir gradually became aware of his surroundings. After who knows how long a period of rising from a painful haze, drinking, falling asleep, and repeating that process who knew how many times, he finally opened his eyes and looked around. He was in his room at Heolfor. He had the sense that many people had been in and out. He remembered several voices.

It was comfortably dark, his star globe casting the familiar sky-pattern over the walls and ceiling. He considered turning the light on, something he didn't usually do. Did he want to? He wasn't sure. He didn't think so.

He hadn't moved yet but he was wrapped in warm blankets, and there was someone beneath them with him. Amir didn't have to look to know it was Jin, but he wanted to. So he slowly turned his head to quietly watch the sleeping Nightsman.

Amir was very conscious of the warm body wrapped around him, and he took a few moments to consider the feelings that went through him. He would admit to some confusion, first and foremost. He recalled, though, that every time he'd woken he had been offered warm, living blood, fresh and strong, potent and restorative. He couldn't remember pulling away; it kept disappearing. Jin had to be the one offering him sustenance then. Amir was able to recognize that in his starving state he must have been difficult to stop.

He lifted his hand and reached over, gently brushing his fingertips over Jin's face. Why was Jin here by himself? Where was Mara? Bao? It felt unusual to wake beside Jin. Unusual but... what was the sensation? His mind felt numb.

Amir let his hand still, resting against Jin's cheek. Good. It felt good. To have someone here. Not to be alone. He had felt very alone lately. For a long time, it seemed. Trapped in a nightmare.

Amir turned slightly, trying not to wake Jin, just enough so he could watch his clanmate silently, with dark glittering eyes that blinked rarely but never moved away from the Nightsman's peaceful face.

Jin 13 years ago
Jin smiled back Amir at his words, feeling that they expressed exactly what he had been thinking. He hoped that doing this for him would be a pleasant thing to dwell on and make the next round of sleep a little easier.

It was a surprise to be bitten again, Jin gasped and clutched at Amir's hips. His eyes slid closed and everything else seemed to disappear from the world except the feel of his companion's mouth on his skin and his tongue teasing his neck.

"Its so hard to resist you."

He sighed softly, knowing that Amir wouldn't take much more, that this was for him and he knew that. The amount of restraint that it took was considerable considering his partner's recent state of starvation. Each such deliberate and caring action opened the door in his heart just a little wider adding a place there for Amir.

Any ability to think about it further was taken away from him with the added touch of his companion's hand around his erection. Jin strained and arched, moaning softly. The light careful strokes and gentle suckling were enough to drive him mad with need after Amir's earlier bite. He chewed his lip, eyes now shut tight, the desire to make it last warring with the urge to beg Amir to make him come faster.
Amir 13 years ago
Amir continued to exercise restraint, fierce pride forbidding him to do otherwise, and he was glad to know that some things were still his. His pride, at least, was his own. He had half feared regaining his independence only to discover he was weak-willed and easily swayed but as he warred with himself and won, he knew that would not be the case.

Still drawing against Jin's neck, restricting the blood flow to the barest taste, Amir used his free hand to move Jin's from his hips and encourage him to wrap them around Amir's waist. He lifted his mouth, gently licked clean the tiny drops of blood he'd left behind, and slid himself down a little.
"It's all right, Jin," he said softly. He moved to a new location and bit down once again, renewing the sensation, heightening it, stroking Jin faster, more aggressively, in time with each short draw on his neck. As Jin strained toward him, Amir breathed warmly against his skin. Jin arched; Amir reached behind him and easily supported his back, pulling him closer still.

Amir maintained his restraint, drawing enough blood to taste without depleting Jin's already taxed resources. As long as the sensation was there, that was what mattered. To leave Jin in a state of aching arousal after what his friend had done for him would have been cruel and ungrateful. Amir might not have the capability to grasp much else right now, but this he understood and could help with. If Jin meant what he said about offering himself, he and Amir could explore later... now was simply the time for Amir to return some of the care that had been shown him and he was glad to do it.
Jin 13 years ago
Jin made a tiny whimper of protest as Amir pulled his mouth away. The sound was followed by a low needy moan when his companion bit him again. He stopped biting his lip, panting softly instead with each stroke and draw. His arms, that Amir had guided around his waist held his partner tightly.

The Huntsman pulled him closer, supporting his back with one arm. Jin noticed absently, but happily, that enough strength had returned to hold his weight. It was hardly a vampiric feat of physical prowess but not long ago Amir wouldn't have been able to do it.

His companion's repeated tiny bites and urgently stroking hand quickly sent him over the edge. Jin arched against Amir, crying out in his release. He clung tightly to his partner as the waves of pleasure coursed white hot through his body. He had been left wanting from former feeding sessions and the state of frustrated arousal was enough to make this climax a violent one.

Jin leaned forward, resting his cheek on Amir's shoulder, trembling slightly. He sighed softly, not wanting to move but knowing he should; his companion needed more rest.

"Thank you"

He pulled back enough for Amir to see the gratitude evident in his eyes. "I very much needed that." Jin leaned in and kissed his partner tenderly, adding this silent gesture of thanks to his words.

Sliding out of the bed, on his own now wobbly legs, Jin went to the bathroom and cleaned himself up before returning to the bed. He slid under the covers and wrapped his arms around Amir. Only then did it occur to him that he had been rather loud.

Dropping his head against Amir's chest, he groaned softly. "WÇ’de tian! I forgot Bao was in the other room. That man is going to hate me for certain at this rate."

Amir 13 years ago
Amir held Jin as he came, continuing to stroke him gently, holding him close as Jin leaned forward and fell, shaking slightly, onto his shoulder. When he murmured his thanks Amir dropped his hand to Jin's head, pulling the Nightsman's hair back away from his face, nodding against his head. "Thank you," he corrected.

When Jin pulled back briefly and leaned in again Amir felt a slight smile drift across his lips. He lowered his mouth to Jin's, kissed him back, and squeezed Jin against him.

He didn't want to avoid Bao; he wasn't avoiding him. He just didn't know what to say to him. Amir was tempted to go visit with him. He wanted to talk to him and reassure himself that Bao was all right once again. But he was still uncertain about being upright yet and, given his performance in trying to get out of bed a little while ago, he suspected he should remain where he was for at least another few hours.

He was starting to feel slightly stir crazy though. When Jin returned to the bedroom Amir was lying down once more and didn't hesitate to wrap his friend in his arms. He looked down with concern when Jin swore and then hid a smile as he smoothed his hand over Jin's back soothingly.

"Bao will understand," he said softly. "You have been providing for me; it's only fair that I provide for you too. It was my duty and in this case my pleasure."

He rested his head against the pillow for a few minutes. He was drowsy again but not entirely ready to sleep yet. It was a good sign that he wasn't feeding and immediately falling into a stupor again. His lack of strength frustrated him but it was coming back and that encouraged him to be patient with himself.

"Jin," he finally said plaintively. "Do you think at some point... maybe when Bao is gone if you prefer... we can go out into the living room?"

He was going to die of boredom while he recuperated. At least in the living room he could lie on the couch and watch television or a movie... or something. he didn't want Bao to be uncomfortable, for Amir didn't really plan to distance himself very far from Jin.
He wanted to see Bao, yes, but not if the two of them would be unsettled with each other. Amir wasn't feeling up to dealing with conflict at the moment, an unusual position for him to be in. Normally, it wouldn't have mattered either way to him.
Jin 13 years ago
Jin nodded against Amir's chest, not entirely sure that Bao would understand at all but he trusted that the Huntsman knew his child better than he did. He was happy to hear that Amir took some pleasure in their experience and that it was not done simply out of a sense of repayment.

Snuggling close, he moved up to lay his head against his companion's shoulder, wrapping an arm around his waist. Jin's hearing was sometimes better than he wished it to be and he could make out the quiet sound of the front door closing even from the bedroom. He sighed softly, sure that he was permanently off Bao's Christmas card list.

"Of course, Amir" Jin smiled. "Where ever you are most comfortable."

Now that the Huntsman was starting to regain his strength he would be awake more and laying here staring at the artificial stars would make the hours feel like they were crawling by. Amir was not exactly known for his inaction and after spending weeks alone in a tiny cell, having more time to do nothing was probably hell.

"We can go there now if you wish."

Leaning up on one elbow, Jin smoothed his hand over Amir's chest. "When you're stronger I'm sure we can find things to do to pass the time." He favored his companion with a meaningful smile before resettling himself around him and closing his eyes. "I have a whole book of crossword puzzles."

((OOC: Bao's departure with permission ))
Amir 13 years ago
Amir heard Jin's soft sigh right before he acquiesced to Amir's request. Amir considered that. What had it meant? Did Jin want him to stay here? He could stay here. He had to laugh softly at Jin's suggestion though. "Gee whiz," he said innocently, "I sure do love crossword puzzles."

He lay there quietly with Jin. He had to admit he was comfortable if slightly lost
. "How long have I been home?" He asked softly, turning his head to watch Jin with his dark eyes. "What have I missed?"

It was a vague question but in reality Amir wanted to know about Jin and Mara. What had happened to bring this new dynamic to the fore? Amir was mystified.

He waited for Jin's answer, picking out constellations on his walls and ceiling, comforted by the order and predictability of each one. Exactly in their place. Perfectly aligned. Everything else was turning end over end in his life but at least the sky had stayed the same. It had, hadn't it? Suddenly he needed to make sure.

"I need to go to the observatory later," he said hopefully to Jin, out of nowhere.
Jin 13 years ago
Jin laughed quietly at Amir's 'enthusiasm' for crossword puzzles. "Oh good." He nuzzled closer into the curve of his companion's neck. "We can do them together then." The thought of the two of them, both very active in their own way, sitting around filling out crossword puzzles made him smile. He wondered what Mara would make of that sight when she came home. What would she say to the other? Doubt crept into his mind, what if she did not want to share Amir with him in this way? Or him with Amir? It was possible that once she saw the two of them together that she would change her mind. How much would that hurt the Huntsman; to have something offered and then taken back? Jin pushed the thoughts out of his mind. He could not be so cruel to Amir and Mara would not be selfish or jealous in that way; Jin was sure that she loved them both and would want them all to be happy together. He looked forward to her safe return to the two of them, certain all traces of doubt would be wiped out then.

"Only a few days." He seemed a bit puzzled by the question but perhaps the Huntsman did not know how long he was out. The man was only now starting to stay awake longer. Jin pondered Amir's next words and wondered what all he could explain. "Hmm, we've gotten some more clues toward finding this killer. Morrigan is giving the Order of the Hunt a hard time with her protection though I have no idea why."

Jin hugged Amir close and spoke of more pleasant things. "Mara and I bought a house." He leaned up again, watching Amir closely as he spoke. Running his fingers gently through Amir's hair, pushing the longish strands back from his forehead, Jin said. "We made sure that it has plenty of room for all of us...if you are interested." Amir might like to know that Bao too seemed to be doing well these days but that was not his story to tell.

He cast a glance up at the points of light on the ceiling and then down at Amir once more. "Of course we can. Whenever you like."
Amir 13 years ago
Amir closed his eyes and continued to smile softly. "How domestic," he said at the mental image of doing crossword puzzles with Jin. "After that we can bake cookies. And go shopping for curtains."

The lighter topics helped keep him involved, interested, and he inwardly thanked Jin for understanding. The update on current events was welcomed; it helped tether him back to reality. Amir was treading an uncertain line between going back to where he'd been previously and falling off a ledge into who knew where. He wasn't sure of himself at all, and that was unlike him. Or at any rate, it was unlike the 'him' he had been a month ago. He had no idea who he was currently.

He turned to Jin as the Nightsman ran his fingers through Amir's too-long hair. Jin was solid, tangible, stable. It was all right to lean on him. For now. For a little while.

"You bought a house?" Amir soaked in that news with a smile. He was happy for Jin and Mara. To think they wanted to include him... that was something else. The idea of going to stay with them for a little bit was appealing. More than appealing. "I wouldn't mind visiting," he said.

He yawned suddenly and surprised himself by wriggling closer to Jin, wrapping his arms around him.
"Tell me about it?" he asked.

In the back of his mind there was a piece of him that was shocked into speechlessness. Had he just asked for a bedtime story?
Jin 13 years ago
Jin laughed at Amir's sarcastic reply, feeling that the Huntsman's sense of humor was definitely returning.

He sighed softly at his companion when Amir spoke of visiting. "We didn't get such a large house simply for you to visit. The house is big enough for all of us to have a little space if we want it" Jin leaned down and kissed Amir tenderly. "but we bought to live together, all of us. So stay here only if your truly wish to, otherwise we'd both prefer that you joined us."

Smiling at the yawn, Jin ran soothing hands in long strokes over the arms that held him. "Well, it looks very Tuscan villa. It is on a large plot of land with woods nearby. There is a cozy courtyard with an outdoor fireplace. It has high ceilings, lots of stone and timber." He laughed softly and said. "I can't believe I'm saying this but I really love the kitchen. The stove is built into the island. I can work on my laptop and talk to Mara while she cooks. She's very good. It makes me wish I needed to eat. I am a fan of the large master bath however Mara is more fond of the shower. We have extra rooms for offices and guest bedrooms. There is a rec room and a theater room. Mara wants to make a work shop for her glass. When you see it you can tell us what you'd like. The upper balcony would be a great place for a telescope. We still need to see a designer and get furniture...so that shopping for curtains comment might be more true than you realize."

Luckily Mara was great fun to shop with, admittedly so far they had only bought things that he had a keen interest in; however, there had yet to be a time when he did not thoroughly enjoy being around her. Jin couldn't imagine it would be any different while they were picking out the perfect side chairs.
Amir 13 years ago
Amir was quickly getting used to being kissed by Jin, a surprising revelation. They had worked together in the past and Amir had found Jin a reliable partner in that respect. Oddly enough he had never considered him as a physical partner. But then, maybe it wasn't so odd. Amir wasn't known for having many relationships. The fact that he genuinely liked Jin had probably factored in. There had been so many things wrong with him back then; there hadn't been room for real relationships. Now, though, he had time, room, and the inclination.

"All right," he said, nodding against Jin. "I'll come." It wasn't hard to make up his mind. If Mara, Bao, and Jin had gone to so much trouble to make it harder to trace him, he shouldn't stay at the Manor in plain view. The idea of living with Mara and Jin had a lot of appeal.

As Jin began to tell him about the house he and Mara had purchased Amir closed his eyes. Tuscan villa... a design choice he wouldn't have guessed at from either of them. It must be nice, for Mara and Jin to have liked it.

"Mara... cooks?"

That littl tidbit was a shock to him; Mara hadn't included cooking among her many skills that he knew of. He raised his head when he asked that question but put it back down after the initial reaction. Jin's gentle voice continued and Amir let it carry him away, trying to envision this house, its theater, a workshop for Mara...

He drifted off into slumber right about the time Jin threatened to take him curtain shopping for real. He heard the words and wanted to respond but he was too sleepy, too comfortable, and too well-fed.

Ah well, he managed to reflect. At least this way Jin would not be stuck babysitting him and could find himself a meal. He suffered a brief feeling of panic though; he did not want to wake up alone. There was nothing to be done about it though; he was too far asleep to rouse himself. So he curled into Jin's arms and let it happen.
Jin 13 years ago
Jin was amused by Amir's question and nodded silently while he continued to describe the house. He was touched all the more by Mara's Valentine's Day present since it appeared that she did not cook very often if Amir had not known about it.

His companion curled up into his embrace and fell asleep. Jin lay there quietly holding Amir for a while, letting the man sleep peacefully. He watched the stars as they moved slowly across the ceiling silently tracking time in the cool dark room.

Eventually he carefully disentangled himself from the Huntsman and went to find someone from whom he could find nourishment for them both. His need for blood had become known among the staff, as had his preferences. Jin thought ruefully that while he normally would not be so open about his feeding habits that it least had the benefit of making the experience a quick and easy matter to take care of.

"Aloha kakahiaka" Lono smiled at him over his cup of tea. "You need blood again?"

Jin nodded, dropping his eyes to the floor.

"Come now, don't be like that. I've got plenty of it." The cook beckoned him closer with the wave of a hand. "We'd all happily feed you whenever you need it. Not everyone is so...considerate" Jin assumed that he meant that some of his kind were less than gentle when they fed. It was unfortunate and he wondered if there were hidden hazards for being a member of the human staff.

"Thank you."

Once he had fed again, Jin made his way back to Amir's apartment and slid back into the bed, wrapping himself around the Huntsman once more, not wanting Amir to wake up alone.

((OOC: Lono said Good Morning ))
Amir 13 years ago
Amir's sleep was punctuated with visions of his erstwhile home. A dark cell, a tiny window, a ray of light that burned and burned when he couldn't get away from it. And then the walls began to crumble and fall repeatedly, again and again, for no reason that he could name. He shifted restlessly as it happened, trying to scramble out from underneath the wreckage but unable to move in his weakened state.

Presently he felt something; someone. A warmth where there had been none. Their scent was familiar, the feel of their body equally so. He shifted, turning towards that presence, and opened his eyes.

Ah yes. Jin.

Amir wasn't normally the demonstrative sort. Touchy-feely things, sensitivity, discussions about 'us' and the like were not his thing. His recent experiences had left him vulnerable and insecure however and he found himself opening his eyes and mumbling,
"I'm glad you're here," before burying his face against Jin's chest.

It was not like him at all. Some part of him recognized that and hated it; another part of him realized it was necessary and told him to have patience with himself. He'd return to normal soon. But what was normal for him? He no longer knew.

Sitting up slowly he looked at the stars and noted it had not been that long. Amir glanced at Jin.

"I need to move somewhere."

He was done sleeping for the time being. While Amir doubted he was going to go practice with the Anantya Track and Field team any time soon, he had to at least get out of his bedroom. Previously it had been his sanctuary but at the moment all it was was dark and closed in.

Trying to mask his uneasiness and restlessness he asked Jin,
"How about a nice crossword puzzle?"
Jin 13 years ago
It would seem his return had woken Amir. The Huntsman had been tossing and turning in his sleep and had rolled over to him immediately when Jin slid into the bed. He wrapped his arms around his companion. Amir's words tugged at his heart; seeing Amir so vulnerable was disconcerting. Jin felt sympathy for the normally proud Huntsman and another surge of anger toward the man's insane Creator. He held him close, protectively, wishing he could do more to help.
Amir reasserted his earlier request for a change of scenery and Jin nodded. He slid back out of the bed and then reached down a hand to help his companion up. He offered a shoulder for the blanket swathed Huntsman and accompanied him to the living room couch.

Jin laughed softly at the crossword puzzle suggestion. He helped his companion settle on the couch, taking a seat next to him. He was not sure whether to take Amir's request literally or as the innuendo in which he had originally spoken it but it seemed that face value was the safest option. He was already asking the Huntsman to accept a lot of change so he did not wish to be too forward. "I can go get them if you want but we can find something else if you like. Television, a movie, a board game?"

He went back into the bedroom and gathered up his silk bathrobe. Returning to the living room, he said. "I play a mean game of checkers."
Amir 13 years ago
Amir attempted to stand for the second time in a few hours and was much more successful. It seemed pointless to clothe himself but he was still a little chilly so he dragged a blanket with him and wrapped it around himself. He accepted Jin's help, since as he stood he could feel his legs did not want to bear him up as securely as they should. One was distinctly weaker than the other, too, and he recognized the telltale signs of having broken some bones there recently. He favored it slightly as he leaned on Jin's shoulder and they made their way out to the dimly-lit living room.

He curled himself into a corner of the couch, smiling softly at Jin's suggestions. He would gladly sit here and do a crossword puzzle for the time being; the literal translation was fine for now although when he was a bit stronger he found with some slight surprise that he thought he might enjoy the other meaning. It was a lot to take in; he still thought of Jin as Mara's and Mara's alone. This sharing, while not a new idea to Amir, was not something he had looked for or anticipated. So, while, it wasn't unappealing in the least, Jin and Mara obviously had had time to consider while he on the other hand was still reeling with revelation.

He hated being off his game.

Jin left and returned with his bathrobe, clearly preparing to leave to get said games. Amir, slightly alarmed, reached out his hand and caught Jin by the wrist. He looked up at the Nightsman uncertainly for a few seconds.

"Please stay," he finally said. Amir did not want to be alone, of that much he was certain. He felt empty enough inside. He didn't want to experience it outside too.

"I just need to occupy my mind some," he said. "TV will work just fine." Then his lips twisted wryly. "Until my body decides it's up for more... just... don't go? Please."

Amir could not hide the note of regret. Jin had fairly clearly offered him something more; Amir wanted him to know that he wasn't opposed to it. He wasn't turning him away. But he didn't think he could manage that right now when the walk out to the couch had been plenty of effort for tonight. Tomorrow night, however, would likely be another story altogether.

He hoped so, anyhow, because all of this weakness, the physical and emotional combined, was starting to wear on him even though he hadn't been awake long. Amir didn't like functioning at less than peak performance. It made him nervous. He did take solace in the fact that there was marked improvement, physically. That was something at least.

He didn't let go of Jin's wrist. Not until he was sure Jin was going to remain with him. There was plenty of room on the couch for two.
Jin 13 years ago
Jin looked down at the hand that had grabbed his wrist and then into the eyes of his companion. After a pause, Amir asked him to stay. Nodding, Jin sat down again, scooting back against the side of the couch and drawing Amir with him, placing his legs on either side of the Huntsman. They were, much like he and Mara, comfortably close in height and that made settling together very easy.

It was plain that even being alone for the short time that it would have taken to go gather some games was more than the Huntsman was prepared to handle. Jin was concerned but not surprised. He was willing to stay with Amir as long as he was needed. Jin doubted that would be very long anyway; Mara would return soon and he was sure that Amir would prefer her presence to his. For the moment though he would be whatever rock his companion needed to lean on.

"The television is fine." He smiled and gently kissed the side of Amir's neck. "We don't need to do more than that until you want to."

He reached out and gathered the remote, handing it to Amir. Mara would be proud but Jin figured that Amir was the one recuperating so he could temporarily relinquish control of the device. Besides, he couldn't claim that title with Amir's television anyway. Still Jin smiled to himself at the memory of spending time on Mara's couch watching movies, happily fulfilling his duties as "master" of the remotes.

Wrapping his arms around Amir's chest, Jin leaned his cheek against his companion and focused on the television.
Amir 13 years ago
Amir moved away from the corner of the couch to make room for Jin. He could not fault the way the Nightsman settled in, clearly intending to wrap himself around Amir. Had Amir ever required this sort of support before? This was not him. Was it?

The line between 'him' and 'not him' had become so muddied. He shook the notion off; dwelling on it now was exactly what he did not want to do. He curled back up into his new position between Jin's legs, leaning up against his friend and resting his head against Jin's chest. Jin's mouth upon his neck was met with a pleased little shiver and he nestled closer, dragging the blanket up with him.

"Wanting is not the issue," Amir admitted softly, with a slight smile. "Being capable, now, that is a little more problematic."

He accepted the TV remote and poked his hand out from beneath the blanket long enough to switch to his favorite channel, the science channel, where there was usually some sort of documentary on about the solar system. It was early in the morning at this point though and there was nothing on except an infomercial.

Amir frowned and flipped through the channels a bit. He didn't know exactly what else he wanted to watch though. Finally, impatient, he handed the remote back to Jin and re-settled his head against his chest. He shook his head, simultaneously rubbing it against his companion.

"Maybe there's a movie on," he mumbled. "Anything but infomercials."

He wrapped one arm around Jin's waist and watched the TV screen as if somehow by magic, Jin would be able to make something interesting appear on it. Normally it would have bothered him to be unable to make such a simple decision... maybe it did bother him. But right now he didn't care so much.
Jin 13 years ago
Jin smiled softly at Amir. "Well at least you're willing. We can work on the 'crossword' physical training regime later."

He suddenly found himself in possession on of the remote. Amir snuggled against him and asked for something other than infomercials. Perhaps he should warn the Huntsman that he might now never get the device back. Jin looked down at it a moment, a slight smile on his face while he sorted out where all the important buttons were. Then he clicked on the guide and sorted through the channels.

With a laugh, he selected "Interview with a Vampire".

"Look, a documentary. This should be informative."

Jin smirked down at his companion, setting the remote in front of him on the table in order to wrap both arms around Amir again.

He listened to the movie narrator. "1791 was the year it happened. I was 24, younger than you are now. But times were different then, I was a man at that age: the master of a large plantation just south of New Orleans..."

"Maybe I'm wrong but I am pretty sure that most twenty four year old males still think of themselves as men, even in this age." Jin smiled. He had been turned at twenty five and had been considered an adult for years but then he was much older than the fictional vampire they were watching. He had been working for the Emperor for several years and before that had been in the military. He had no doubt that Amir had been considered a man when he was turned as well and he appeared much younger than Jin, himself.
Amir 13 years ago
Amir lifted his head from Jin's chest and stretched up, wriggling a little against the Nightsman as he did. His heart had leaped into his throat at Jin's words, an odd unusual sensation. Did Jin think he was uninterested? That he didn't want to share any part of himself or Mara? He didn't know where his insecurity was coming from and he hated the sensation. He was used to being decisive and exact. Now, however, he was still floundering.

He nuzzled his nose into Jin's neck in a gesture very unlike him, pressed his mouth against the soft golden skin, sucked gently while he hugged Jin tightly, a little desperately. He needed Jin. And Mara. Mara had been holding him together in the last couple of months. Losing her to Jin had been painful but understandable. Now, faced with the revelation that Jin had posed to him - that he had not lost Mara but gained Jin - he was starting to think that was, indeed, what he wanted.

"Yes. I'm willing," was all he said as he lifted his head from the familiar delicious taste of Jin's neck without having bitten him. Maybe it was tiny, but he was proud of that accomplishment.

He settled back down, still clinging tightly, and turned back to the TV as Jin laughed and found some sort of documentary.

"Documentary?"

With Brad Pitt?

Amir watched the introduction with mild interest, finally realizing that it was a vampire movie, as the title indicated.
"I've never watched this."

He nodded against Jin's chest, giving a short laugh.
"I'm not most males, but I sure thought so," he said, struggling to bring the foggy memory of his human life to the fore. Mara had asked him about it recently. Amir fell silent for a few minutes, trying to remember.

In the end he just watched the TV screen and tried not to think about anything except the movie. Patience was not his forte, and he suspected he needed to have some with himself. Very well. He could be patient for two hours or however long this vampire movie lasted.
Jin 13 years ago
Jin moaned softly, closing his eyes and pulling Amir tighter against him when his companion sucked gently on his neck, reminding him graphically of the recent experience in the bedroom. He sighed softly, opening his eyes and smiling at Amir. It was good to hear that his partner was willing because if he did that again Jin might be more determined to find that out, and soon.

His smile quirked a little crooked when Amir took him literally about the movie being a documentary. "Well, its called Interview with a Vampire that suggests its a biography, of sorts, right?" Jin kissed the top of his companion's head still smiling at the thought of these movie vampires being real. He was not sure if it would be amusing or horrifying.

Jin looked down at Amir, "Yes, well you were also immortal by then as well. That tends to change a person's outlook...as I recall anyway." His first years as a vampire stood out simply because they were the first, shining and new, bright with potential.

He pondered the humanitarian vampire on the screen agonizing over his Creator's poor feeding habits. Jin had to admit Lestat was not behaving in a sensible manner but Louis's great moral dilemma seemed equally unrealistic. The man then claims to be the devil, frees all his slaves and then burns his plantation. "Idiot." Jin sighed. "Very wasteful."
Amir 13 years ago
Amir noted the soft sound Jin made when he nuzzled into his neck and smiled to himself. It boded well for later. If only Mara were here. He repressed a shudder at the idea that she had gone to Africa to confront Subira for the sake of his safety. He badly wanted to see her... and Mai... and Bao... but he really wasn't fit for company now. Jin was welcome. And he would seek out Bao when he was steadier on his feet.

He relaxed against Jin, allowing himself a soft laugh here and there at the 'documentary' as it played.
"I wonder how many actual vampires were involved in this movie," he mused. "There had to be at least one."

They were too accurate, and to good about adding in details that seemed to deliberately mislead. But then, that was what some of them did for a living. They monitored the presence of vampires in human culture; kept them guessing, kept the myth alive.

He nodded against Jin's chest at the Nightsman's 'wasteful' proclamation.
"All that food..."

That was a bad thing to focus on if he didn't want to bite Jin again so soon. Surely he could go a little longer without feeding again. That had never been his forte however; even at his peak Amir fed far more often than the average ancient. He bit his lip softly and continued to watch the movie.

Well, at least there was one appetite-killer forthcoming. As the plague swept New Orleans Amir watched with a horrified expression as Brad Pitt's Louis character bit a plague-ridden girl. He swallowed.

"Ugh. Why would you do that?"

He looked up at Jin, not wanting to watch that spectacle.
"That's disgusting."

Amir might feed frequently, but he had standards. The idea of feeding from someone that ill was sickening.
