Mindless Fun ((open; Attn: Drew))

Kai hadn't had much time to really explore Nachton, so being drug along behind Drew was a rather nice way to see it. She kept a firm grip on his hand not wanting to lose him in the crowded streets.

The historic district was just as interesting as the rest of the city and Kai managed to slow their walk a bit so that she could peek into the windows of the buildings they passed by.

"This city is so cool."

((if this is the wrong place for this, please feel free to move it.))

There had been a few wrong turns but eventually he'd found a decent parking spot and then started waking through the crowds of tourists with Kai. It was kind of amusing she'd follow him and keep hold of him when Drew knew full he was going to get lost here and there.

But at least it was an interesting place to get lost. They both kind of stopped and looked at things that caught their eye and Drew made note of some places he'd like to come back too.

It was hot, which he was used too, but the humidity and the lack of breeze he hadn't gotten used to yet. It didn't stop the crowds though. Fortunately the place he was looking for was off the beaten path and more frequented by locals than tourists.

"It's not like any city I'm used too that's for sure."Â?

He liked it though. Ah! They were here! He stopped and made a grand gesture and lead her into the cool of the penny arcade. There were old view master type things with little films, there was a mechanical fortune teller, there was an old arm wrestling thing, it was wild, nothing here was digital all of it was old, worn and mechanical. It cracked him up.

"Pick your poison. Nothing costs more than a quarter."Â?

He grinned.

She knew she looked a bit like a bumpkin with her mouth open as she stood in the doorway of the arcade. "Wow, I've never seen anything like this."

She walked away from Drew and began to touch everything she came near until she found the mechanical fortune teller. Digging in her pocket she pulled out a quarter, and slipped it into the machine. It began to move and open its mouth and she gave a delighted laugh. "How did you find this place?"
Drew 13 years ago
Drew laughed. That had to be pretty close to how he looked the first time he'd found this place.

"It is wild isn't it? I've only even heard of one other place like this, but I've never been."Â?

He followed along as she wandered around looking for something that caught her eye.

"What does she say?"Â?

Drew leaned over Kai's shoulder to see what it read. Before sheepishly admitting how he'd stumbled on the place.

"Well... I was lost. Sort of. I'd read some good reviews of the brewery across the street."Â? He pointed through the window, it was easy to see. "And I was hopping he'd give me some tips. He did too. But I heard that one laughing."Â?

Drew nodded to the red headed laughing doll type thing. It always made him smile to listen to it, and figuring Kai could use a smile he popped a coin in the slot so she could hear too.

"And I wandered in. It's got its charm doesn't it?"Â?

((OOC... here I don't know if you know about it but this is what inspired this place Musee Mecanique go crazy with what ever you want to find in here.))

She laughed as she read the little card the machine spit out. "It says 'You will be lucky in love.' I think I must have come a day late for this one."

Kai tucked the little card into her pocket, as the red headed doll began to laugh. "I must say that is disturbing." Though she was mesmerized by the creepy doll.

When she finished laughing, Kai moved on to a machine that asked for a dime. She slipped in her coin and put her face to the viewer and began to crank the machine. Picture after picture of what must have been considered pornography during its day, but was of a woman wearing basically a night gown, with more beading than would be conducive to sleep, sitting "provocatively" in a big wicker chair. With another laugh, Kai rose from the little machine.

"This is not the first time I am glad I wasn't alive during the Victorian Era."
Drew 13 years ago
"Hey now. Maybe what she means is the next guy will be the one. You don't know. She didn't say -when- you'd be lucky."Â?

Drew continued to try and cheer Kai up, or at least take her mind off it. He had no idea how involved she'd been with Brig, but anything more than two dates and he figured you had a right to mope a little bit. He just didn't want her to mope too much, it wasn't productive.

He half pinched, half tickled her side before cocking his head at the laughing doll. Funny, he didn't get creepy out of that. But some people were afraid of clowns so he just shrugged and let it go.

"Hmmmm... well I don't know. It might have been cool, I think it would all depend on your point of view and when exactly you were talking about."Â?

He'd have to check a couple of dates, but there was a possibility that his family wouldn't have been penned up on the reservation yet. He'd like to have experienced that.

With enthusiasm he pulled her over to an arm wrestler. There were little signs that would light up every thing from wimp to He-Man. Drew shoved a quarter in the slot.

"All right, let's go. Lose has to by the beer."Â?
