Legal Council

It was the middle of the day and Bao was -very- tired. Things, however, had gotten piled up and he was trying to rectify that situation by working from his town house. As he finished off his last task for the day, he again looked at the letter in his in basket. It was from Meridian and Bao had wanted to give it his full attention. Perhaps he should wait until this evening when he was fresh. Curiosity, however, over road his good judgment and he picked up a letter opener neatly slit the envelope and read.

The letterhead, high quality paper and multiple attorney names did not impress or frighten him. Not in the slightest. The letter was polite and two the point, they wanted back the sources Dr. Gounder was using.. It was a perfectly reasonable request, and according to the terms, he had thirty days to comply.

Bao squashed a sudden flash of anger and considered his options. He couldn't ignore it. He certainly didn't want this to go to court or go public and it wouldn't due to antagonize Evenhet. He was, however, livid and as such, he would -not- be immediately helpful. Two weeks, he would wait two weeks. They couldn't complain about that. He would also be keeping copies. Nothing would be published citing them, he only wanted them as a clue to what the good doctor had been up to, it would remain totally with in the clan and so no one would know.

He calmly set up a reminder to himself to return the papers in two weeks, he'd do so by courier and require a signature, as was his habit with requests like this. That done he took a deep breath and made a conscious effort to control his temper. His hold on his anger was tenuous at best. Bao excused himself from his study and made his way to the dojo next to it, both rooms were completely light proof.

He finally lost his temper and didn't bother to change or even to turn on the lights he just unleashed his furry on a practice dummy. It was an exceptionally tough dummy, made to withstand no holds bared attacks from a vampire, but after the first vicious kick, there was some small doubt that it would last.

How -dare- that bitch do this. She'd no right to do so. Actually, she had ever right and Bao had to admit it was a good tactic. What he was truly angry about was being out maneuvered. It was not something he had expected. Why had she turned to other vampires for help? It was infuriating. This gave every indication that the wolves and Evenhet had aligned. At the very least, they were cooperating with one another.

Bao had no idea how to cope with that. What's more, he didn't relish the idea of telling Amir this. It went against everything he knew, every thing he had learned and been taught. Vampires and werewolves did -not- work together.

Damned it to hell. Another powerful strike rattled the dummy.

It was going to have to be address, he was going to have to tell Amir and something was going to have to be done about the doctor. Bao admitted to himself he was very conflicted by the woman. She was smart, had a bit of cunning and was an extremely beautiful woman. And he hated himself for feeling this way, she was a wolf, a plague, beneath them how could he find her at all attractive. He wanted to make her suffer for inflicting these feelings on him.

He worked on those ideas for several more minutes before finally calming. It wasn't often his temper got the better of him, but at least he had handled it in an appropriate manner rather than doing anything rash.

Finally, fatigue over took him. Bao straightened his cloths and went back down stairs, only stopping to pick up the letter from Meridian. Down to his fortress of a basement, it was the only place in the house he felt safe sleeping. He would sleep on this and tell Amir first thing that night, it wouldn't do any good to wake him now.
