Big city indeed

Trayce let out a bellow of a sigh and flopped onto his bed face up. He smiled at the fifty or sixty paper latterns that hung in a neat jumble along the ceiling. They were filled with remoted controled flickering candles. The kind you bought to trick people into thinking there was a real flame when in actuality they were harmless. The small remote that controlled them was on his nightstand and he flopped a long arm over to tap the button. His high loft ceiling came alive with a soft glow against the blue of the laterns.

Damn the pack had came through with everything they thought he'd like. Down to the dark flannel sheet and faux flame covered ceiling. It was easy to pretend the flames were real and they calmed him like no other. Scratching at his jaw, Trayce ran his fingers through his neatly trimmed beard. He was still in his black Jay Kos three piece suit but he didn't care. His first day in Nachton had been eye opening. He had thougth Denver to be big, but this? This was a whole new story. His flight in had arrived at ten a.m. and he had immediately gone to the office to be debriefed. From there on it had been a whirlwind day of hand shaking and smiles. The red numbers on the clock beside him read eleven fifty four and he was just now getting to Pack related issues.

Trayce had read the file that was in his hand on the way up the elevator. His loft was in the heart of downtown and not out with Pack. Sad as that was he had to keep up appearances. The papparazzi were everywhere and the last thing he wanted to do was lead them to the Packs cozy little home. Too many people would get hurt and he wasn't sure it would be any of "his" people that ended up injured. It was the main reason on full moons they stayed within Pack approved areas for running and hunting. Unfortunately, according to the file in his hand, one of their kind was blatantly not keeping with tradition and had been spotted in numorous public locales. He would have to have a talk with this person but it would have to wait. Tonight was for sleeping and the full moon would be back soon enough. Trayce hoped to catch the person in the act. Some wolves were just careless.

Slipping the file on the night stand, Trayce stood back up and stripped down to his boxers, taking care to hang his suit. Tonight he was going to spend staring up at the fake flickering flames above his bed.
