Description of your gifter (NPC) : A rogue werewolf was on a hunger rampage when he gifted/attacked Peter (at age of 3). He was shot before Peter was killed but not before Peter became infected with the virus. The gifter is now dead. The gifter was a court translator and hunted as a hobby (that is how the gifter got gifted incidentally, and the gifter’s gifter is now also dead by a rifle shot). Peter’s gifter lived on the other side of the forest and was on a hunger rampage when he found Peter and his dog. Normally he was very careful to only stay in the forest where there was less chance of running into humans but he wandered out when he saw Peter alone. He had no control over the werewolf mind when he attacked Peter and merely saw Peter as a better looking meal then the dog.

Personal Questions

1. Describe your character's personality
The first words that could be used to describe Peter’s personality is eccentric, humored, and analytical. Peter is normally laid-back/ easy going, and seems to have an almost child-like interest in everything around him, but in truth he is very focused on the details of everything, as would be shown in his reports in a crime scene. While Peter is no leader, he doesn’t bend to someone’s will either and dislikes anyone who tries to bully him into something.

2. Describe how your character would appear to a stranger
Peter’s normal attire includes a large dark trench coat that has well over thirty pockets of varying sizes (most of the pockets are on the inside of the coat, the outside looks more or less normal), a pair of reflective sunglasses (to keep people from seeing his eyes), black slacks with dark dress shoes. He tends to walk casually taking long strides with his long legs looking around slowly and easily as if he is taking in his surroundings, to a street vendor he would be deemed an easy mark.

3. What does your character like?
Puzzles
Logic Games
Intelligence
Classical Music
Innovative Devices/ Gadgets

4. Dislike?
Mystery movies or crime shows (they are either too predictable or not accurate)
Any movie or book that has to do with ghosts (especially “Sixth Sense”)
Big ‘scary’ dogs
Alcohol
Anyone who “knowingly destroys their cranial capacity”
News-people / media

6. What are your fears?
Werewolves in wolf form/Big dogs – the after affect of the attack, he’s better now, but don’t expect him to be best buddies with his canine counterparts (at least while he is in human form, his werewolf side deals better… well, at least he doesn’t cringe away in werewolf form)

Long Barreled guns- It’s part of his werewolf lineage, he knows inherently that he will die by getting shot by a long barreled gun (shotgun, rifle, howitzer), he normally is just ill at ease with them, but he doesn’t like them pointing in his direction what-so-ever, he was also shot by his father when he was young (before his father knew about him being a werewolf)

Silver - He doesn’t like silver, period. He is reluctant to even touch any objects with a ‘silver-like’ appearance because they might be silver. He may have to be reassured a few times before he touches it, let alone grabs it.

7. What are your character's strengths and weaknesses?
Strengths:
Very Intelligent – genius is an understatement
Observant/Photographic memory – he notices stuff people normally look over and he remembers them very well
Athletic - He is fast and reasonably fit, thin wiry muscle not bulk

Weaknesses:
Still has a tendency to forget that no one else can see the ghosts- Since not many other people can see them they tend to think he is talking to them, wonder what he’s doing… or think he is crazy
Dislikes fighting- he is usually the target of people who have something to prove, but he really doesn’t like fighting that much
Always thinking- he will be talking to someone then suddenly start psychologically evaluating them, his brain doesn’t realize when to give it a rest and stop thinking about something

Habit of running his hands through his hair when anxious, thinking, bored, or for no reason at all (this habit is the cause of his hair style)

Personal History -
Peter Haines was born in Northern California but moved shortly afterward to a rural area of Pennsylvania because his father’s job. The ‘farm’ that his family moved into had been home to a very superstitious individual who had believed in the stories of the ‘werewolf’ that had been killing livestock and had a rifle fully loaded silver bullet in barrel at all times over the mantle piece. This proved very fortunate for young Peter Haines later. The attack happened while his family was redoing the house the night after the silver plated barbed wire fence was removed. The werewolf was attacked by the (rather small) family dog, which was killed by the wolf. This would have led to nothing more if Peter hadn’t been watching. The scream alerted the werewolf (which hadn’t had time to eat yet) and the small running figure was too taunting to resist. The werewolf attacked the escaping Peter and managed to bit his arm before being shot by Peter’s father, who had heard the dog bark and Peter scream and had gotten the first thing available to him, the gun on the mantelpiece, which was still loaded with silver shot. The shot struck the gifter in the head killing him. Peter was only three years old.
He changed a month later and his father shot at him, the shot grazed his shoulder but did not cause any real damage. An old man (the previous owner of the house) yelled at him to run and he escaped through the dog door and into the forest behind the house. The next morning, after a bad night in the forest, he met an ancient ghost of an American Indian medicine-woman. She became somewhat of a ‘foster mother’ for him the next two years.
He was found naked sleeping in a chicken coop one night after a full moon and taken to the police station, identified, then returned to his parents (who were very glad to see him). Within the next month he quickly relearned English with the help of his inherited memories. Until a few nights before the full moon (while still having a limited grasp on vocabulary) was told by the previous owner of the house, the one who had told him to run nearly 2 years earlier, that he should tell his parents what is going to happen. He put off telling them until the night before the full moon. They never moved into an urbanized area after that and always had a large rabbit farm that so Peter didn’t have to go out hunting. His parents and him slowly learned of his condition with him and were very accepting of it, though dismissed the stories of the ‘ghosts’ he saw.
The largest amount of time he ever stayed in one state as a kid was when he was in California and that was for 6 years (Jr. High & High School). He mainly kept to himself in school and didn’t have any friends because he had to constantly keep moving. He had a relatively normal life besides that… and turning furry every month… and seeing ghosts. His mom was a piano teacher and she taught him piano from the age of 4.
He went to college when he was 18 where he became interested Forensic Science and Law. Nine years later he walked out with PhDs in Forensic Science, Law, and Physics and Bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry and in Criminology. During this time he worked at a bookstore, and a Private Detective as a side job. He got closer ties with the local police force became an unofficial CSI in his last two years of college. The news followed him and gave him the name of the “Sherlock Holmes in America” which got him the name of Sherlock Haines in the local police force. It also gave a considerable distain of the media and publicity (in a ‘why can’t they leave me alone to get on with my work’ kind of way)
He got transferred to Queens a year after he got out of college where he worked for 3 years. He then got transferred to New York City where he worked for 4 years. Within those seven years he obtained the right to carry concealed weapons in 36 states (the border/costal states and Nevada) and Washington DC. Peter did not learn about the pack or its values when he lived outside Nachton, and while he believes that there probably is others with his ‘condition’, he did not meet one before coming to Nachton.
He finally transferred to Nachton (he chose to) because of the increasing fatalities on the local police force. He decided that his efforts might be needed most there because he’s ‘harder to kill’.
