The hunt begins

From a distance he saw the RAV's taillights grow smaller. Fallon and Cyrus had left.

Good. The last thing he needed was interuptions from them. Sad attempts to stop him from his persuit with pleas of sympathy. It wouldn't work and he was glad at least one of the two if not both knew it.

He walked along the curb until he came apon the street lamp he had laid under only last night. There was nothing there. No cell phone, no mask, nothing. This was the right spot, the grass was still flattened and he saw dried vomit mixed with the dirt. It wasnt such a far fetched idea that someone had picked up his cell phone, it was newer, but the mask? Maybe the Park Ranger had come and cleaned up this morning. He scanned the area with his eyes to see it either had been moved.

Not seeing anything he moved on into the trees where it was darker than night. What had seemed like miles to him last night while he was in pain, actually wasnt that far at all. He found the bloody scene quickly. He was suprised at first to see his blood still there. The sun hadn't penetrated through the leaves and needles of the thick trees. Seeing the mess angered him even more.

How was he going to find her?

The chance that she'd come back here was slim to none. Most women didnt revisit the site where they had been attacked. The dirt told some stories. He saw his shoe print in the frozen snow dusty ground. What surprized him next was that there were no shoe marks for her. A footprint in the snow confused him. Had she really been barefoot?! That was...strange. It was far to cold to be running around barefoot. He could withstand some tempture drops, but to be hanging outside with no shoes on? That had to be painful for anyone, let alone a human.

That brought up a curious thought. Perhaps she had been a vampire? That could explain the late night park outting. But why would she have used a gun on him instesad of just fighting back? She had looked terrified when he had spun her around. Another vampire wouldnt be terrified would they? They might have assumed him to be a late dinner themselves. Using the whole pretty lady in pink all alone trick.

He scratched his head. It was then that something caught his eye. A little flash of color in the nights darkness. Something his natural nightvision would only be able to catch from the side. He bent down to examine the fallen tree better. The tiniest thread peeked out of a small jagged crevice. He carefully placed his thumb and forefinger on it and pulled. The tiny thread brought a few friends and it was what had glinted off of a stray well adjusted eye. Pink fibers gave Panos his only trace of the woman who had been there the night before.

A slow grin spread across his face. It wasn't much but it was the key to finding her.

Why had she been so dressed up? It had been a rather extravagant dress.

He stood still for a moment and thought. When it finally dawned on him where she could have been he felt like a fool. Babylon or Club E! He himself had been dressed up and he remembered many of the ladies being very well dressed.

Quickly he searched for her mask hoping it would be all too conviently tossed to the ground under a bush. He wasn't that lucky. He'd go to the clubs and see if anyone remembered seeing her. He hadn't seen anyone in pink when he had been at Club E so he decided to start with Babylon. Also it was a strip club so what was wrong with starting there? A little added incentive to attend.

He wished he had his cell phone, he could have called a cab, instead he would have to huff it. Titties and a vendetta hunt? Could the evening get any better?

He started out of the park with determination and a hunger like never before. The small taste Cyrus had given him was wearing off fast and he started to feel frenzied for the pursuit of blood. the pink princess would have to wait just a little longer.
