Haunted House (private)

Kem's house... now her house... was delightful. They'd spent most of the night unpacking her things, something she had refused to do since arriving in Nachton, convinced it would jinx her. However, the entire time, Aishe was convinced she'd heard whispering, particularly when she was in the study.

Asking Kem if his house was haunted was only met with raised eyebrows and slight worry, so she made light of it.

[Shiny trees, shiny shiny...]

Every time she was up by the front of the house, it was something similar.

[Light on trees, shiny shiny... push-pull...]

And it was wierd.

[Food here. Things here.]

Aishe stood at the door, peeked out, didn't see anything unusual. She looked down at Zoe. Zoe looked back.

[Fishing trees, find things! Shiny things.]

There were no brightly-colored floaty shapes. Just when she was almost getting used to one strange oddity, another came along.

Random mumbling filled her head for another few seconds before it clarified itself into simplistic thoughts once more.

[Food easy food. Easy shiny.]

Great, she was going insane. Again. First Kem's voice in her head, then everyone's voices making funny colors and shapes, and now an entirely new voice in her head. She couldn't have bonded to someone else, could she? Was this one really the voice of insanity?

Were people ever going to stop using her brain as their own personal airwave?

[Shiny, shiny...]

Kem called from in the kitchen now, and she reluctantly turned away from the door. Giving one last, pensive ook out into the front yard, she watched it, hoping for some sort of movement, anything. Moonlight fell softly down, illuminating everything, reflecting gently from the mailbox, the car in the driveway.

It's all shiny at night...

Perplexed, she turned away from the door.
