Something old...something blue

Having one's head in the clouds could be a good thing, as long as one also had the semblance to pay attention to where one was going. In Fallon's case, it never had been very easy to remain graceful without concentrating. With Cyrus it was different. He seemed to bring out the very best in her, and she was able to move with poise around him. But left to her own devices, she either focused on where she was going and what she was doing, or she ran the risk of landing on her ass.

Stumbling out of her RAV, she managed to catch herself before she wound up on the asphalt parking lot. Weddings, and everything that went into planning them, consumed Fallon's attentions at the moment. Even when she was again on an even stride, her mind was a whirl with things she had to take care of, if she wanted to get married next month.

Valentine's Day was, without doubt, way too soon to be planning nuptials for, but Fallon had two reasons for not wanting to go beyond that date. One, she wanted to be married to Cyrus as soon as possible. She loved him with every fiber of her being, and though she didn't expect things to change between them, felt the need to 'be his', in name as well as spirit. And two, it just seemed the perfect day.

Because the wedding would be in the evening, there was no need to wait for pretty spring or summer days. And even though she and Cyrus spent a great deal of time outside, getting married in the forest just didn't seem conducive to guests who would attend. So a wedding in an enclosed structure, in the evening, seemed to lend itself to a Valentine's Day event as well.

Besides...she thought it was a cute idea.

Wandering into the library, Fallon looked for Ana. No arrangements had been made between the women, so she knew there was a good chance Ana might not even be working tonight. But going to the library to research things for the wedding had been a spur of the moment decision, and while it would be nice to have both Ana, and Aishe with her, Fallon had found both women rather scarce the past few days.

From lack of contact, Fallon guessed Aishe must have still been wrapped up in her man, and understood that completely. Yet that fact didn't stop Fallon from missing her sister.

And Ana...wow, but that girl seemed to have her hands full. Between all the back and forth voice messages they had left on each other's phones, Fallon had come to find out that Ana had been dating! That was all she knew though, and was dying to find out more, and gave her an added reason for coming to the library tonight.

Not seeing her friend, Fallon went in search of the magazine section, and found several on brides, and weddings. Choosing six to start with, Fallon carried them to one of the more secluded tables, not yet inhabited, and spread out her find before her. Sitting down she began going through each publication, page by page, making notes on a small pad she pulled from her purse.

Excited about going out hunting with Aishe, since she had only gone it alone, or with Cyrus before, Fallon quickly checked out the material she wanted, and returned to the table. A look of pure enthusiasm lit her face, and Fallon tried to remain still while she waited for her friend to move towards the door.

"I'm sorry, did you say how you got here? If you drove, we could go somewhere in my car, and then come back for yours, unless you're not comfortable riding with me." Fallon laughed a short, soft laugh, concerned about waking anyone else in the library just then. "I'm not sure Cyrus is quite used to that yet, though he always puts on a brave front when he goes along with me. I know for the most part he feels a lot better when Ginger drives."

Of course when Ginger drove, there was always the matter of a little fun in the back of the limo, to kill time while they rode to their destination. Fallon kept that tidbit to herself for now.

Her voice was again hushed, and discreet, knowing their protection was still something both women had reason to think about.

"I know a place over by the Strip, where a lot of young college kids go. I've always found choices abound there, and have yet to run into any difficulty. I usually use the car, but I can manage in an alley way just as easily."

Talking to Aishe about such things didn't seem weird to Fallon in the least. The connection she had found, and strengthened with her dark friend, never seemed stronger. Besides that, Fallon never once questioned the trust she felt for Aishe. There were three people in the world that Fallon would trust her life with, or give her life for, and Aishe was one.

Knowing Aishe was still a bit newer at the feeding process, Fallon was ready to defer to her friend for whatever would make her most at ease.

Aishe smiled and shrugged her shoulders slightly. "I walked," she said. "Our house isn't far from here at all."

Strictly speaking, Kem and Aishe were far closer to the waterfront area of Nachton, but Aishe enjoyed walking and didn't really consider anything to be "too far" unless it involved leaving the city altogether.
Regarding fallon's driving, she laughed. "Perhaps being nigh indestructable gives me courage, but somehow I'm just not frightened. We can take your car."

She listened intently to Fallon's eating plans, slightly uncertain but willing to try new things. "I don't usually hunt... well, like that," she said slowly, at the idea of using seduction as a lure. "It seems unfaithful, in a way, I guess."

She helped Fallon pick up her books and magazines. "But that said, I can always stand to learn. I should know how to do everything, right? So let's do it your way."

"Oh, wait just a sec..." Fallon put up a hand, and stopped moving towards the door, to instead move back into the library. After a scant few seconds she returned to Aishe's side.

"I just let Ana know the plans, and she will be catching up with us at your place when she gets finished here. She said she'll call first, she'll need directions, plus...well, I told her we might not be going directly there."

Fallon giggled a little, considering the immediate tasks ahead to be fun, and exciting, mainly because she'd be sharing them with Aishe.

She did cast a knowing look to Aishe when her friend spoke of 'unfaithfulness'. Walking to Fallon's car, she hugged Aishe's arm close, so she wouldn't have to speak unduly loud.

"I had similar feelings the first few times I knew Cyrus was seducing and feeding from a beautiful woman. I don't know how or why, but I guess that all disappeared once I was sure he loved me. Plus, I saw in myself the same attributes...it's easy for me to seduce someone to the point of feeding, and then just let them go back to their life as if nothing had happened. I don't form any kind of attachment to my food...and I found the same in Cyrus. It's kind of like a game for me..."

Soon the two women were belted in and on the road towards the Nachton strip. It was a week night, so the volume of people wasn't anything like it could be on a Friday or Saturday. Fallon liked that though. She always felt safer with fewer people around. Just as long as there were enough bodies, and commotion to offer distractions, and when she made her move it would go unnoticed by everyone else.

"Usually I drive up and down the street a couple times, as if I'm looking for a place to park, but what I'm actually doing is scouting. If I'm lucky and see someone who looks solo, I will park, and head to that person quickly. I don't like to spend an inordinate amount of time on the street though, because I don't like to risk being recognized. So far my blending helps a lot, and aside from my target, I don't think most people do see me."

Fallon shrugged slightly. It might not be the best, and most well thought out plan, but it had worked very well for her so far, that she saw no reason to change it. She wasn't sure how Aishe would do though, and that disturbed her a little.

"Want to watch me first, or did you want to jump right in?"

Aishe listened to Fallon as they drove through the city. She smiled at the knowledge that she and Cyrus were both comfortable with their respective feeding habits, but it was a little different for her and Kem. She tried to explain, but how did you express the idea that someone was stuck in your head every hour of every day?

"It's not quite the same," she said. She tapped her forehead, unconscious of the fact that it was a gesture she'd seen Kem use many times in the past. "I don't have any questions as to his feelings for me, and he doesn't either. He knows I'm not being unfaithful. And there's no attraction on my part to anyone but him."

She smiled at that, but continued. "It's a courtesy," she said. "His past, it's quite different from mine, and I don't want to make him uncomfortable."

Giving it a little more thought, she said, "I think I might be a bit... well, sneakier about it tonight. Sneakier, but not exactly subtle."

She gave Fallon a wink. "I won't be far away... but how about I meet you at the car in a little while?"

Aishe flashed Fallon a decidedly pointed little grin. It was snacktime!
