Ana
"Are we going to sit here all night, or do I have to drag you out of your seat and drive?"

Laughing Joey turned his attention to the task of driving. He turned the key in the ignition, zipped out of the lot, and drove them to the Target not too far from Ana's place. He was glad to have suggested it, because the holiday seemed to have closed down almost everything. They pulled into the almost deserted parking lot and headed into the store.

He headed to the toiletries section first, Ana's hand firmly encased in his own. He picked up one of those little travel cases that had a razor, shave cream, shampoo and soap in a little plastic zipper bag, then directed them to the men's department. He didn't say all that much, since he was anxious to be done here and take Ana home, not to mention the whole nervous as hell about what it might mean to be in her home, thing. Joey took just a few minutes to pick pajamas. He ended up with a pair of fleece green and navy plaid bottoms and a navy t-shirt that said "Snow Blows" under a picture of a snow blower. They didn't exactly match but it was good enough.

As they passed a stack of hand baskets he chucked the stuff in the top one and picked it up, then headed to the food section. They quickly found all the things needed for omelets and biscuits with sausage gravy, plus a bag of Joey's favorite coffee, only to find out that Ana didn't own a coffee maker. They made a detour to the small appliances and Joey made her pick one out. After much teasing and laughing they ended up with a crayola red 5-cup coffee maker, as well as a small coffee grinder.

There was a briefly intense moment when they argued about who was going to pay for the groceries, but in the end Joey managed to get Ana to let him pay for it all, promising she could pay for the next round they bought. The thought of needing to buy groceries with Ana again, both thrilled and scared him.

Laden with bags they headed back out to the car and piled everything into the back on top of the ice skates. Joey helped Ana up into the Jeep, apologizing briefly for neglecting to do so at the park, and they were off to the pizza place. They chatted and joked, as they waited for one small pizza with mushrooms, tomatoes and cheese for Ana, and one large pizza with mushrooms, and every kind of meat the place had, no sauce and extra cheese for Joey. Then it was off to Ana's. He pulled into the driveway on Ana's side of the little converted cottage she lived in.

His hands seemed suddenly stuck to the wheel and he was just a bit reluctant to go on with this next particular step. Why? He couldn't quite say, but he knew that this would change things. It always changed things, sometimes for the better sometimes for the absolute worse, but he knew their relationship would change and he wasn't sure he wanted to do that.

With a soft sigh, he unbuckled his seat belt and turned to face Ana once again.
"Are you certain you want to do this? I don't want you to do anything you are uncomfortable with Ana. I won't come in unless you are absolutely certain you are willing for this to happen. Okay?"

It was a bit of a cop out to lay it all on Ana like that, but he had to make sure that he wasn't pressuring her into changing something that honestly didn't need changing.

The request had been an odd one; or at least, it felt odd, after she finally got situated. Her head rested on Joey's chest, just within reach of a leaning kiss from either of them. Her torso curled against his side, breasts smushed comfortably into him, wedged against the sofa cushions, her belly crossing his and her hip leaning against that still-present hardness. "Nice for me, but if you get uncomfortable," she said, wiggling her hip just enough as if to say 'I know that's there now and I probably won't forget', "Let me know."

She was unsure how long Joey had read to her. She remembered hearing every single word; he accented some voices to differentiate them and once tried a falsetto voice to emulate a female - which he immediately stopped when Ana shook her head in reproach. But she noticed some of his words seemed to disappear. When he said 'Chapter six' she realized she'd missed something of Chapter five. He took a deep breath, that she heard in his chest, and seemed to be about to begin reading again. Placing the right hand that she'd found wrapped over to the opposite side of his body, higher on his body she leaned up and placed her lips over his to stop his voice. After a short, soft, closed-lip kiss she said, "Bookmark it, please Joey? I'm starting to doze off."
Joey 17 years ago
"I will" He had little doubt he would ever become uncomfortable, but he smiled just the same and started back in. "Chapter Three."

He paused every so often for water, but he had no desire to stop, it was a good book so far. Then Ana's lips were stilling his words. He moaned softly, unable to help himself.

"Ready for bed then?"

He had no idea what time it was, but he figured it was closing in on midnight. He'd know if he could see the moon...or a clock.

"By the time I get up and decide to move into the bedroom, my tiredness will be gone and that second wind thing that I sometimes get going on will be blowing pretty hard. Part of the frustration of being on the rotating shift at the library." Ana attempted to stifle a yawn by burying her face in Joey's chest. A second pulled harder at her lungs and as she exhaled she squeaked, not unlike a dog's chirpy whine. "And staying here on the couch will only end up with lots of pins and needles come morning. Or furry dog mouth."

She debated only for a few heartbeats her next move. On one hand she didn't want to leave Joey to sleep on the couch; she knew the living room could get cold, right by that window. On the other, she also wasn't sure she really wanted to have him in her bed, what with the pokey things he had going on for him. Settling her fear on the shelf of 'deal with you later' she reached her decision.

Ana carefully unfurled the layer of blanket above her and flipped what she could onto the back of the couch. Slowly pulling herself upright, sliding down Joey's body, she put one knee near his and straightened from the bottom up. Leaning forward enough to grab a handful of pajama top she tugged gently on the cloth, enough to give him the hint to help himself stand. "Get your ass up - and the rest of you - and let's go to bed."

Joey chuckled softly, but it was stopped in his throat as she began to move. She touched nearly every part of his body, even brushing his erection with her elbow. He shuddered, and his eyes grew dark with need. He did his best to clear them as she straightened, but he couldn't shake the ache and so he knew his eyes remained dark with it.

She tugged on him and invited him to her bed. He wanted to stand up and whoop, but knew better. He grinned at her and using his abs sat up and then stood.
"After you."

He brushed hair from her cheek, before she turned and lead him into the bed room. Russ whimpered in his sleep, with out hesitation Joey went to him and murmured softly, but didn't touch the puppy. The mass of fur settled, gave a shuddering puppy sigh and snuggled deeper in his t-shirt. Joey smiled and stood. Turning he faced Ana from across the bed.

Ana flipped the head of the covers away from the bed, then walked around it to the side furthest from the door. "Alarm's set for six thirty; I can shut it off if you want."

She dropped her slippers off her feet then turned back to her dresser for a moment, rooted around inside for a specific pair of socks, then turned and plopped her bottom on the bed. Leaning over, she tugged the socks onto her feet. Rotating carefully on the edge of the bed, she turned towards Joey and pulled one of her legs up onto the mattress, bent at the knee. Arching her hand like a Price Is Right showgirl she highlighted her socks: knee-length white with little snowmen and reindeer imprinted all along the length. Giggling, she scooted back a butt's width and brought her second leg up onto the bed, her feet resting just under the edge of the folded-back covers. "You know, I should probably pitstop... Haven't since before you picked me up." She turned her feet back onto the floor and walked to the end of the bed and stopped.

With a mischievous grin, she said to Joey,
"Age before beauty! You first."

Joey watched her move around the room, trying to decide how to do this. On one hand it was a huge step to allow him in her bad, but he was having a hard time being ok with it. "Would you shut it off please? I have absolutely no desire to be up before the birds on Christmas morning."

He gave her a grin, but it slowly faded as she seemed to go from girlfriend inviting a boy into her bed, to girlfriend at a sleep over with her best girlfriend. It was confusing to say the least. It was a bit disconcerting to be discussing the need to pee with her. He cocked his head to one side, and looked at her with his confusion barely hidden.

"Um no, that's ok. You go ahead."

With a shrug Ana bounded out of the room. Joey plopped down on the bed with a sigh. He had to switch gears and he wasn't all that happy about it. He wanted Ana to be comfortable, but playing the part of her best friend at a sleep over was a bit much for him. He could do the boyfriend, being the friend she needed, and sleeping in her bed thing. Not to mention he had zero desire to be her best friend in that sense. The toilet flushed and the sink ran, something clinked and the water shut off. He swiped a hand across his face and cleared it of whatever might be laid bare there.

He stood and walked to the door, there he and Ana had to turn sideways to pass. His hand went to her waist to guide her, and he let his fingers trail across her waist. His middle finger managed to get underneath her shirt and slid across her skin. He caught her gaze and held it for a moment, then smiled at her before going to the bathroom to take care of his own call of nature.

Joey's fingers brushing across her skin made her shiver.

She clambered onto the bed and, leaning on her side facing the bathroom slid under the covers. Moving just enough to allow Joey room to get in, she removed her glasses and leaned behind her to place them on the nightstand behind her. Fumbling for a moment to shut off her alarm, she rolled back and faced the bathroom again waiting for Joey to join her.

He took the time to brush his teeth after he'd washed his hands. He thought about taking care of the frustration that had built up, but didn't want to blow things if she decided to take the next step once he was in her bed, nor did he want to take that long in the bathroom. He'd deal with it when he got home the next day.

He walked back into the bedroom to find Ana curled up in the center of the bed. He cocked his head to the left and studied the situation for a moment. There was enough room for him on either side of her so he just needed to decide if he wanted to face her or spoon her. With a smile he slid into bed behind her, and wiggled and adjusted the both of them until he was comfortable, one arm under her head and the other slid under her shirt to rest on her skin. He kissed the back of her neck and inhaled deeply of her scent.
"Good night Ana."

Hearing Joey walk around the bed to her back, Ana felt a bit disappointed. She had been kind of hoping Joey would lay in front of her so she could lay against his side and hug him like a big Joey pillow. But feeling him behind her made her warm and comforted and as she lay further down in the bed she carefully pulled her hair over her shoulder to prevent it from choking the man behind her.

His breath minty fresh as it cascaded over her ear and cheek gave a chill from her head to her toes, matched only when his cooler hand lay against her warm belly to hold him against her. That same hardness pressed against her back, just above the cleft of her buttocks; a warm throb reminded her that she was sharing her bed with... a man. With Joey.

Turning her head, she kissed his arm softly and snuggled backwards against him.
"Good night, Joey. Merry Christmas." Grabbing the covers, she flipped them over their shoulders then retracted her right hand to lay it against his larger one.

"Merry Christmas." He whispered, and nuzzled his nose against her skin. He stayed there until her breathing became even and her body went lax. Slowly he slid his hand up her torso and cupped it around her full breast , then let himself slip into sleep.

Joey struggled up from the cozy dream, of making love to Ana, at the sound of tiny whimpers. In their sleep Ana had turned over onto her back and Joey had worked her top up, exposing her chest, his cheek rested on one of those perfect globes and he groaned in pleasure and disappointment. Carefully he sat up and pulled Ana's clothes to a more modest position and slid from the bed. He picked up the puppy, and murmured him quiet.

He scratched his belly, and adjusted himself as he walked to the back door. The sky was gray with pre-dawn light and he growled softly at the puppy that frolicked into the damp grass behind the house. Ana had left a towel next to the back door and when a wiggling newly relieved Russ came bounding back, Joey wrapped him in it.

He took the puppy into the kitchen and gave him food and water, then locked him in with a toddler gate, put there for that purpose, he assumed. With a growling yawn he headed back into the bedroom and curled himself back around the still sleeping Ana.

Joey dreamt of a far distant future, one that had him shifted outside of the full moon's pull, as he prepared to Gift a young man, beside a roaring fire. Out side of the fire's circle he picked up the scents of his Pack and the unmistakable scent of Ana, he turned his head and looked into familiar brown eyes in an unfamiliar black coated wolf. He scented the air again and was sure it was her. Tilting his head up to the sky, he let forth his howl of joyous sorrow.

His eyes flew open, as he breath panted from his lungs. It had been so real, so vivid, and it frightened him. He was not sure he wanted to share such a thing with his Ana. She moaned softly in her sleep and snuggled closer to his side. He lay on his back and Ana had half of her body on him, her arm wrapped around him and tucked beneath his back. He pulled her close and kissed the top of her head.

The day had come into itself and bright sun light flooded through the cracks in the curtains. He gently swept the hair from her cheek and stared down at her lovely sleeping face. No she had no place in that world of his dream and he would keep her from it if he could. Though she would have to know eventually.

Ana wasn't sure what had woken her up. Whether it had been the strange wash of cold over her or the motion of the bed, or at least her bedcompanion... Whatever it was, she woke and felt Joey shivering or shaking next to her. Tugging the blankets closer around them, she turned over and lay across Joey's chest, insinuating her leg between his and wrapping her arm over his chest.

After a while, warmth brought her out of her sound reverie. She realized the sun had risen and was streaming through the curtains. She felt a movement against her face; Joey's chest moved differently as she allowed her eyes to flutter open and tilted her head to look up at him.
"Good morning, Joey. Merry Christmas. I hope you slept well, and it looks like you managed to stay in bed. I didn't kick you, did I?" she asked, restfulness tinging her voice and concern coloring her question.
Joey 17 years ago
Joey smiled into those eyes the color of fine aged wood. She was beautiful and took his breath away when he least expected it, this was one of those times. When he could breathe again he kissed her forehead.

"Merry Christmas, Ana. I slept perfectly, not a kick among us. Though Russ woke me up at dawn. I locked him in the kitchen. I hope that's alright."

Unable to help himself, Joey lifted her chin just enough to press his lips to her's. Passion ignited in him and had him shifting and maneuvering until she was beneath him, and he could feel her entire body as he ravaged her mouth, and tangled his fingers in her hair.

Ana sighed softly as Joey moved her under his body and wrapped her arms around his neck. After countless moments of oral exploration she placed her thumbs just in front of his ears, her other fingers fanned over the back of his head and exerted a bit of pressure to lift his head and lips from hers.

Her tongue darted out and wet the tip of his nose; giggling she aimed lower with her lips, then closing her eyes stuck her tongue out again and gently traced the outer edges of his lips. Alternating with small, playful kisses from the left side of his mouth to the right, and light touches of her tongue against his lips, she sighed and explored his mouth slowly and playfully. After a few minutes, she leaned her head back into the pillow, staring unfocusedly into his face, then pulled his head down to rest in the crook of her shoulder.
"Next time we wake up together, -I- get to be on top, mmmkay?" The last was said with her raspy voice.

Joey laughed softly. "Deal."

He nuzzled into the crook of her neck and inhaled her scent. It was a mixture of apples, the muskiness of sleep, and his own scents. It was intoxicating. Before he could do anything he would regret, he kissed the delicate skin of her throat and rolled from the bed. "Nature calls."

He walked into the bathroom and gave a great sigh as he lifted the toilet lid and took care of business. He ached for her, and knew he would continue to do so until she was ready to give herself to him, if she was ever ready. he sighed again as he washed his hands and rinsed the morning breath from his mouth with a swig of her mouthwash.

He returned to the bedroom and leaned on the door jamb.
"Ready for breakfast?"
Montana 17 years ago
Ana sat up and, after leaning to pick up and don her glasses, wrapped the severely mussed covers from the bed around her. She left the corner that smelled like Joey-concentrate near her nose as she waited for him to leave the bathroom.

"Breakfast sounds good, but I'm going to shower real quick and do all that morning-like readiness stuff. Remember," she said with a wink as she climbed off the bed, leaving the covers behind in a clump on the floor. "Eggs over easy, scrapple, toast, oh-jay, oh oh and corn muffins!" She nudged his belly with her elbow as she looked up at him, smiling. She leaned up to kiss him and realized he still had a modicum of morning breath.

Stepping carefully past him, she held onto him and forced him to turn and look at her as she made her way into the bathroom.
"Actually..." She set her hand on her hip as she looked him up and down for a moment. "You're coming with me. Let's go."
Joey 17 years ago
"Oh sorry, I'm cooking we eat what I want to make." He chuckled and then found himself being turned about and commanded to shower.

Joey let his feet go where she tugged. He had to swallow several times before he could speak. "Yeah I could go for a shower."

Did she know what she was doing to him? He was having a more and more difficult time respecting her boundaries, especially when she kept offering liberties like sleeping in her bed and showering with her so freely. he felt things grow snug in the pants area and sighed softly, as he entered the bathroom.
Montana 17 years ago
Ana pulled the door closed behind Joey as he entered fully. Stepping around him again, she tugged the shower curtain open then sat on the toilet lid. Then, with an open mouth and a sudden "Oops" she opened the door again, then leaned around it. A squeak and thud could be heard, though all Joey might have seen was her bottom in the air as she leaned over. Then Ana re-entered the bathroom with two large, fluffy gray towels with matching washcloths. She placed them on the sink then returned to her perch on the toilet lid.

She waved imperiously at him, mischief sparkling in her smile.
"Come on then, don't keep your lady waiting. Let's see it then."

She thought furiously as she waited for Joey to undress. If he was, well, 'up'... She formulated half of a plan to wash him. She was aware, though, of the possible consequences of her actions, both those she'd taken last night (now that she'd realized what she'd been doing) and those she might perhaps take within the next few minutes.
Joey 17 years ago
Joey wanted very much to return Ana's smile, but he found his mouth wouldn't work that way. With some hesitation, Joey lifted his hands behind his head and pulled his shirt off by the collar. He dropped it to the floor behind him, and tucked his thumbs in the waistband of his pants. His eyes met Ana's and his gaze bored into her's.

"Ana..." The word held hope, anticipation, doubt, and the incredible ache he felt. More words, however, just would not come.
