Renewing Acquaintances

Ysabel stayed in her deep curtsey until the crowd around her dispersed. She had called the Historical Society and they'd been happy to let her start work earlier than scheduled. Tonight had been the first tour she'd done alone, a simple and short tour around the Founder's Tree Square delivering a brief bit of history about each buiding and each of the modest monuments. The tours took half an hour each and she had done three.

She knew at least one member of her audience that time around had been from the Historical Society, on hand to assist her if she required help or to ask leading questions that would remind her of anything she'd forgotten to include, but years at Court had honed her mind to conditioned responses and memorizing speeches, and Ysabel knew she had conducted her tour well, if not exactly flawlessly.

As the people lingered off to dinner or to bed, or to more lively entertainment, she noted one standing still. Closer inspection revealed clothing outdated as hers was and a head of dark dark hair.

Raising her head but remaining in her curtsey, she smiled. "Mister Rigson, how lovely to see you."

"Indeed." Arron said with a nod "And I see Evenhet as the best, thats how we all find our clan, I suppose."

He lapsed into silence for a moment, allowing Ysabel to continue her thought. Her sister sounded interesting to the vampire, and, frankly, he had always been interested in clan Tacheran... Its history, motives, things of that nature. Though, he had to admit, he didn't really *like* the clan, far to violent and amoral in his eyes... But then, he was Evenhet, and a former duke for that matter.

"I would very much like to meet your sister some time, and I hope that everything will work out with your respective clans."

Ysabel smiled agreeably at Aaron. "Yes, I would imagine that if you didn't consider your own clan the best, there's no real reason to stay. We all find our place eventually. Perhaps it takes longer for some than others, but there's a place for us all. I am sure things will be fine between us, regardless of what clan we belong to, and I am also sure Dayle would be delighted to meet you sometime."

She paused thoughtfully for a moment. Speaking of Dayle, her sister might be waiting for her. She didn't want to be too long, but she found herself enjoying Aaron's company. It was refreshing to be able to speak so candidly with someone about their respective pasts, without playing the "vampire guessing game."

"I don't suppose I might have the pleasure of your company for the walk home?" she asked somewhat hopefully. "I do need to return soon, but it's such a lovely night." A walk home with a gentleman wouldn't be at all unwelcome, especially when the gentleman was such an accomplished conversationalist.

Ysabel waited for his answer with a soft smile.

Aaron paused in his walk, and broke out into a positive beam.

"I," He said with a bow "Would be Delighted." Without leaving his stooped posture, he scooped up her hand and gave it a kiss. "You almost needent have asked."

Aaron was lothe to leave the charming woman's presence, they got on well, he thought. Any excuse he needed to spend those extra few minuets with her he would gladly have taken. That, and there was the off chance that he would have an oportunity to meet her twin, and see just how allike the two Yolgraves really were.

Ysabel curtsied formally, enjoying the momentary regression back to a more familiar era. Aaron's company on the walk home would be a pleasure. Perhaps Dayle might even be home to meet him. Ysabel figured it never hurt to introduce her twin to a new male.

Hopefully she wasn't running around in her underroos again.

Placing her hand on Aaron's offered arm, Ysabel led the way through the city toward her condo, talking animatedly with the Evenhet vampire the whole way as they explored their mutual histories and discovered which courtiers they both knew.
